DoubleTree by Hilton Campbell-Pruneyard Plaza

This was the worst stay at a hotel that I’ve ever had. They staff was extremely rude and inconsiderate to my needs. The price was way too much for the quality of the room and hotel itself. If you are looking for a hotel in this area, do yourself a favor and do not stay here or you will regret it.

This has been my go to hotel while I am in the San Jose area. Conveniently situated for all of my travel and night life needs. They are currently going through a remodel which may turn off some guests but the upgrade should bring in even more travelers. The biggest thing missing is a bar that is being added for all of us that enjoy our alcoholic drinks. Super easy online check in with my Hilton honors account along with great customer service keeps me coming back. Thank you for a peaceful and relaxing room each time I visit.

The second night of our pacific coast roadtrip was spent here.
Checked in and was immediately offered warm complimentary chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. So good that we’ve googled the recipe to try to imitate them but haven’t had luck perfecting that crispy outer edge and soft cookie yet.
I booked a room with two queen beds for one night. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Rooms have a blow dryer, safe, coffee maker, and tv. They don’t have a microwave in your room, but you can ask the front desk and use theirs. They also have a gym for use. No complimentary breakfast, though.
Overall it was a convenient place to stay as we travelled through. Since we only stayed overnight, I’m not sure what’s in the area. We stayed on the second floor and there was no problem with noise as others wrote.

SO SAD — this property is awesome — too bad they lack customer service!!!
I stay here a couple times a year and this property is currently under renovation (GREAT!) however; I’m a Hilton Honors gold member for the past 8 years and when I went to get my complimentary breakfast the hostess was disorganized, tables needed to bussed, ran out of eggs & on top of that they charge 10.00 for continental breakfast & $ 15.00 for hot breakfast. Now the hotel is under renovations #1. The breakfast is in a conference room #2. I get a free breakfast because of my Hilton honors & your gonna charge me $ 5.00 more bucks for hot food??? WTF — your should be serving EVERYONE for free due to the condition of the hotel. When I complained to front desk — which by the way was in a Room instead of the front hallway (remember they under renovation) the 2 females behind the counter just smiled and simply said S O R R Y. oh well say la vey …

stayed here over thanksgiving for a few days. lobby is under construction until the middle of January. on the first day there was a good amount of noise, but nothing terrible, I was actually able to nap through it.
room was a king and quite large. not a huge fan of décor but everything is updated and comfortable.
location is in pruneyard plaza with a handful of food options in the plaza and right across the street. area seems to be a safe neighborhood.

I got to the double Tree Hilton a little early. They wanted to charge me an extra $ 25 for being early. There once was a time when early was a good thing.

We got the best room possible, not even going to say the number but it was on the third floor. My partner and I love staycations, and we decided to try this place out since it’s so close to our house.
The whirlpool tub was great, the room came with a mini fridge, a cute box of chocolates, fruits and nuts, and a cute little bottle of Pellegrino. No complaints! Although, like many hotels, the room door has some gaps. If you’re pro travelers like us (lol), you’ll know to improvise: towels under if necessary, and move the chaise lounge to door by the side-​gap. Problem solved.
Also downloaded the Hilton honors app and you’re able to check in and I think you can use the app to unlock your room door? Didn’t get to try the latter… Next time! Conveniently located in the Pruneyard. Parking is a B* if you arrive later in the day, like we did. Although, #LisaTeaHouse!!!

Booked this room for a last minute getaway and wanted to avoid staying in San Francisco and Monterey given the ridiculous prices for the weekend. For what I wanted for the weekend, this hotel did the job. Room was cheap, same distance from Monterey and San Francisco and in a fairly safe looking neighborhood.
The rooms were clean and large. They did provide us with a mini fruit/​snack basket as well as some chocolates on our pillow. Bathroom was huge with whirlpool tub.
The only downside was that there is a $ 25 early checkin fee. As a hilton honors member, I have never seen a fee like that being charged at any other Hilton property, especially one that was far from reaching capacity. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I will look for other nearby places to stay next time.

Make sure you know your room number before staying here.
I’m sure this hotel is great; however, we got stuck with room 138. This room is on the first floor and right next to the incredibly noisy and obnoxious breakfast area. Get ready to be awoken at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends because that’s when service starts. When I mentioned this to the front desk they asked if I wanted ear plugs… no, I want to not be awoken by this.
So much for their theory of «If you’re not happy with your stay, let us know and we’ll make it right.» I let them know and making it right is not ear plugs.

We stayed here last weekend. Never again! Ok, I’ll start off with the good. This hotel is nice and has very clean rooms as well as comfy beds. Sadly, we weren’t able to sleep much on those comfy beds because of the noisy and boisterous wedding guests in the lobby during our one night stay. The hotel is built in such a way that the lobby echoes and carries loud people’s laughing and talking.
I called down to the front desk a couple of times to let them know that the loud guests were disturbing us. Once at 10:30 pm and again and 12:30 am. Sadly, my attempts to get help from the front desk to quiet the people down didn’t work as they were loud into the wee hours of the night. Long story short, we only got about 4 hours of sleep that night. We definitely won’t be back to this hotel again. It was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced. If you decide to take the plunge and book your hotel stay here I would suggest asking if they have any weddings going on. If they do you should request a room near the back of the hotel as that might help with noise reduction, maybe. If you get stuck with room 238, like we did, then I wish you the best of luck.

In the guest rooms there are postcards with the following motto: «If you’re not satisfied with your stay, let us know and we’ll MAKE IT RIGHT» so the day after our stay I submitted feedback about our experience on Doubletree’s website. Let’s just say that I’m very impressed with their customer service. I can attest to the fact that they stand behind their promise to «make things right.» Hopefully, our experience at this hotel was just a fluke.

Wonderful staff, great rooms, disappointed with pay wifi, someone else’s dirty socks left under the chair, bottle cap, etc. Pool was small and marginal. Common areas very clean. Beds incredibly comfortable with great pillows. Water pressure great. A.c. great. Tv and dvd, ironing board, iron, safe, fridge, coffee and maker in room. States here years ago and would again, but very disappointed to move a chair and find such nasties left from previous guest.

My wife and I have been here several times over the last years. It’s a decent hotel in a good location near a number of restaurants. The staff were friendly and the room was fine (i.e. on par with Hilton properties.) My couple suggestions would be: 1 Provide coffee in the lobby in the morning. Almost all hotels seem to do this now, and it beats in-​room coffee makers which are a complete waste of time. 2. The gold member breakfast must drive your staff nuts when they have to explain… to every customer… that they can eat items from the left side but not the right side unless you pay extra. (Just make it like a Hampton and include breakfast and forget the hassle.)
Overall its a good hotel and one of nearby Hilton properties that I visit every couple weeks due to work. I’ll be back.

Came here with my girlfriends for a baby-​moon and it was a great time! The weather was superb so we hung out by the tiniest pool and relaxed. The water was cold, but since it was so damn hot out it felt refreshing to take a dip to cool off once in awhile. They have big tables with big umbrellas, so we had a whole bunch of snacks and alcohol all day, while getting some sun. I got there at 11:30am but wasn’t able to check in as they were still full, so I asked Daniel at the front desk to call me as Ill be at the pool. Never got a call back and they front desk staff changed by the time I went back to double check, but the girls helped me get a room and we were happy as clams. The girl was also super sweet and gave us extra cookies! The lobby attendants all were super helpful with towels and where the ice was.
I think the location of the hotel is great, especially being able to walk to The Pruneyard. The breakfast was OK — not that great for $ 9.95-$ 15 per person. I say just go to The Pruneyard and find a breakfast place.

Stayed there on business. The hotel is in a cool area with lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room was nice except for the shower. The water temperature fluctuated from hot to cold to hot cold. The water didn’t drain out of the tub either. I thought the price was very high for the property. Would probably stay elsewhere if ever in the area again.

Avoid this hotel at all costs! My experience with them has shown them to be incompetent and rude. They overbooked the room, told me that there was no mention of me or my reservation in the computer, and told me to find a room at another hotel. I had a double queen reserved, and I had to settle for a king/​sofabed combo to stay in the area and the same price range.
It gets worse – after not staying there due to their being overbooked, I WAS CHARGED! Then, when I called the first time, I was sent to a voicemail. When I did not receive a call back, I called again to follow up, and I was sent to voicemail again. I hope they eventually help me, but it has not happened so far. I will follow up on this review to let you know what happens.
So far, customer service has been pretty crappy. Think Motel 8 rather than Doubletree Hilton, as far as the service is concerned.

Mediocre hotel with horrible service. I went downstairs for breakfast. The options were not clearly communicated. The waitress only gave me an option of the buffet breakfast or the continental breakfast (where for $ 5 extra, you can get an omelet). I ended up going with the omelet option because the buffet breakfast consisted of a few muffins, fruits, and hard-​boiled eggs. The food was nothing to rave about and the service made me feel uncomfortable even being there. I wasn’t even half way done with my omelet before the waitress brought me the check. It’s very awkward and uncomfortable, almost as if you’re being rushed out. Not once did someone stop by my table to see if I wanted water or juice or anything. I had to flag down a waitress, even after multiple times of saying «excuse me» trying to get her attention just to get some water.

I don’t recommend this hotel at all. I thought a Hilton property would be a known quantity. This is a very old hotel and not in a good way. It’s is very, very expensive even for the Bay Area plus they charged my credit card up from and was going to charge me regardless if I stayed there (I.e., checked out early). I would have left if it weren’t for the charges.
There is no room service, the restaurant only serves breakfast and no complimentary coffee in the lobby.
Parking is very limited.
The Courtyard has to be better and still close to everything. I won’t ever stay here again and definitely do not recommend you do either!

I really like this hotel but overall it is not perfect. as someone who travels every week and loyally stays at Hilton you come to expect a few things that this Doubletree did not deliver.
First the bad — 1. Parking is hard. There are limited spaces and they are tight. I normally dont care but you will be door dinged. Because I have a rental car but because of the busy shopping center you have to walk far sometimes, but they do not charge you, so… 2. Breakfast is lame. As a diamond member, I have never been told I could not have eggs or toast with my voucher. All you get is oatmeal, fruit and yogurt and if you want «anything hot» it is $ 10. Not cool. 3. The gym is not theirs– it is a hike away. 4. There is no restaurant inside so no room service and they do not allow delivery to the rooms from outside vendors.
I stayed here for 2 weeks and the room was really quiet. They had rowdy people who had the police called a few times on my floor but they were on the other side.
The great thing is being able to walk to the food nearby in the parking lot– Outback, Pacific Catch, Rock Bottom, and the bakery– Sugar, butter, flour. I also loved Barefoot Coffee a block over after Sherman Williams.
There is only 3 floors and it is a long hotel. There are meeting rooms and a nice pretty fountain outside.

I can not complain I stay here for work a lot and the management is awesome and the hotel is great.
I had a rowdy bunch over me last time I was here and the management moved me right away and made it all better.
Awesome fresh baked cookies daily also. :)

We ended up having to pay an extra night because we didn’t give enough cancellation notice and that kind of sucked.
It was the managers decision whether to waive the waive or reduce the fee. She chose to fully charge. Even the clerk was
A bit shocked.
The rooms were nice though. Beds and linens were top notch.
