Golden Pacific Systems

I called Golden Pacific Systems because, according to the previous owners, that company had been servicing the alarm on the house we purchased. I called GPS because the alarm system wasn’t working and hadn’t been for at least a year. As we were buying the house and getting insurance, we could get a better rate if the alarm system were repaired and running.
GPS sent out two technicians, one older and one younger, who did none of the talking. I’m not sure why he came along. The older tech looked at the panel and the monitor and said he didn’t recognize the system, and it was old and needed to be replaced. I asked why it should be replaced and why it didn’t work. I never got a very straightforward answer, but the tech was there for a long time going back and forth between his truck and the house.
He gave me no confidence that he knew what he was doing, so I called the office and talked to the owner, who said techs could come back in a couple of days to give us a quote on installing a new system. I said that would be fine. When I didn’t hear from them in a couple of days, I sent an email. The response I got was that they were going to a trade show and would contact me when they returned the following week.
The following week I sent another email asking if they could please get back to me to make an appointment for quote, installation, or both. I received no response.
Two months later, I get a bill for $ 700 for the two techs that came out and did nothing at the house.
In the end, I went with ADT, which wasn’t perfect, but at least they got the alarm installed and it didn’t cost a fortune.

Horribly disorganized company — would not recommend.
Our house was in escrow. We did everything by the book. Notified alarm company (spoke to Debbie) and set up a necessary appointment to disconnect the system. Appointment window was between 1030 – 1230. I took time off work, drove to home (1 hour round trip from my home) arrived at 1015 and waited… no one showed up… called GP after 1230. Raquel answered and said she would check with technician. Initially, she couldn’t reach him and asked if she could call me back. No problem. I understand things happen. So far… so good. Until Raquel called back and said they don’t have a technician scheduled because they don’t need to come out. The new owners want to use them and so there was no need to disconnect. This was frustrating! No one thought to let me know and we had confirmed with Debbie the day before… Raquel apologized and said the «temp» must have forgot. Argh!
Flash forward 2 days — house closed escrow and I receive a phone call from their dispatch that the alarm was triggered. I explained that we are no longer the owners. The dispatch said «you need to let us know so we can disconnect». Argh!
Called to try to speak to Debbie or someone in charge to help. Raquel answered and said she was the only person in the office (at 10 am on a Friday?).
At best this company is horribly disorganized but do you want a horribly disorganized company in charge of your security? I would not use them again!!!

The backup battery for my home central alarm system needed to be replaced. Since Golden Pacific installed the alarm, I called them and had a new battery at my doorstep within 2 days. They were great in advising me on what to do and changing the battery is so easy, I should try it before scheduling a tech to come out at $ 159/​hour. They were right! It was easy to do myself and their advice saved me money. All past experiences with everything from my new alarm installation to troubleshooting the problem with my central vac system has been superior.
