We were three months into our build of a brand new house so we contacted Reuben about providing all of our low voltage needs (alarm, audio, video, intercom, etc). We had our first meeting with him and his partner on June 2, 2012 and never heard back from him so we sent a followup email six weeks later and we CC’ed our General Contractor (GC). We never got a reply to that email so our GC pointed us at another company and we ultimately signed a $ 60,000 contract with them. However, our GC gave the alarm system portion of our job to Reuben (who operates his security system business under the name «Security Alarm Specialists».
At the job site, Reuben and his crew are very pleasant to work with. His company pre-​wired our house for the alarm system and everything seems to be working but there are still problems with follow through. For example, on May 20, 2013 (right after moving into the house) I wrote to Reuben and asked for a sign for the front yard. As a former law enforcement professional, I know that most of the value of a home alarm system is the front yard sign that announces the presence of a security system that is monitored by a reputable company. It’s been ten weeks and we still don’t have a sign even though I’ve written 6 times to check the status of our request and Reuben has replied twice (promising to do something but, apparently, not getting around to doing it). If the sign every shows up, I’ll update this review to let you know how long it finally took.
As of October 23^rd, we still don’t have the sign.
