JD Computer & Cellphone Repair

This man is wonderful. I needed a diagnostic on my computer and how to fix it and he gave a full on explanation for free unlike Fry’s who were about to charge me 60 dollars for nothing. I just had to change my charger for my laptop where fries would have probably given me some bs. He is very kind and a humble person and is there solely to help people and is also very knowledgable aboit electronics. Would recommend this place to anyone.

They fixed my iPad screen for an incredibly fair price at Superman speed (2 hours). Very friendly, very professional. I’d recommend them to anyone.

I called around 11am to see if JD was capable of repairing my laptop and he told me to bring it in for a free consultation. I checked their business hours before driving 45 minutes to this spot, since a few other reviewers mentioned something about this store being closed during normal business hours. I arrived here at 4pm to see a note to UPS telling them to leave packages with the store next door. Yeah, no note to potential customers, just for UPS /​FEDEX. I called the store owner soon after and he told me he was on a «lunch break». I asked him how long it would take him to return, he told me an hour, so I told him it was fine and that I’d return some other day. He even asked if I’d wait. Really… wait for an hour??? I believe another highly rated store on Unilocal is only 15 minutes away. I wouldn’t be so annoyed if it was STATED clearly that there would be AN HOUR CLOSED daily or something, but NOTHING was stated. What a waste of my time and he was NOT apologetic AT ALL. I won’t return even if he offered me some sort of discount. It was unprofessional and rude.

A few months ago the cord to my external hard drive broke. I was devastated! My entire life is in my external hard drive… photos, documents, music… everything! I hadn’t gotten around to making a back up so I wasn’t sure what to do. During a break from work I found JD Computer & Cellphone Repair on Unilocal and decided to drive there. Dawit was able to open up the hard drive and insert the piece into a desktop computer. Then he was able to transfer everything onto a new hard drive. It took hours, but he was able to save everything. I was so relieved!
After that experience you would think that I would have learned my lesson about creating a backup…
However I just hadn’t gotten around to it and a couple of months later I was moving my laptop and unplugged my external hard drive without «safely removing hardware», which I have done many times before. Yet the next time I went to plug it in my computer asked me if I would like to «Format the disk» I knew from past experiences NOT to format… that by formatting I would lose everything. After doing some internet searches I realized that I would have to attempt recovering the files from the hard drive with recovery software. I have also learned from past experiences not to attempt any technology repairs myself. And since I had such a good experience with Dawit the last time with my hard drive I figured he could help me out.
It took almost two months, but FINALLY he was able to recover most of my files. I was worried that I wouldn’t have any of the folder names or file names, but he was not only able to recover the files, but the names as well! Nothing is organized and I will have to spend some time putting the files in the correct folders, but at least I have everything!
I was really worried that he wouldn’t be able to help me. I kept calling him, but he kept reassuring me that he was trying everything he could… He had to purchase various cables and connectors. The hard drive I purchased was very difficult to access, but he was determined to figure it out! I really appreciated his dedication.
He gave me a great deal, even after he spent a lot of time working on it!
Most of the reviews here are for people that needed their iPhones and iPads repaired, but I highly recommend Dawit at JD Computer & Cell Phone Repair for ANY computer issues!

I called, showed up in 10 minutes, and walked out 10 minutes after that with a new screen for my iPhone 5S. How can I have anything to complain about?

This place is amazing! The owner, Dawit, truly understands the meaning of customer service. I had an iPad issue that he was able to fix without any repairs, so he did it all free of charge. He even told me what the issue was and how to fix it, which most repair techs would not do! I plan to use him in the future for all of my technology repair needs. This place is a hidden gem.

I have taken my Ipad here twice in two years for different problems & they fixed it quickly & very inexpensively, I can’t see myself going anywhere else for tech repairs

my mom accidentaly kicked my ipad off the couch while laying down. I didn’t bother to fix it at first since it was small. It grew so fast that i couldnt use my camera to skype. I went on Unilocal and found JD with great reviews and great prices. I called on a saturday which was today and recieved great customer service over the phone which led me to go in. upon arriving i was greated with a smile. loved getting the extra 10% off with mentioning Unilocal.I dropped off my ipad around 11 and it was ready by 1. I was busy with laundry and cleaning and picked it up at 5:40 and he waited for me. I love the price I paid, the customer service and what more then my Ipad looks new and its fixed! Thank You!

Just got the screen replaced on my iPhone 5c. I was helped as soon as I walked in and my phone was ready within 15 minutes! I busted it up pretty bad, so I’m glad that when I got my phone back it was fully functional and responsive. Mentioned Unilocal and got 10% off!

Tucked away in a dated strip mall on the 2^nd floor, you can easily miss this place. However, that would be your mistake! I brought in my wife’s computer that ran very slowly and I know enough about computers to be dangerous. While suggesting some fixes I thought might be needed (replace hard drive, more memory, etc.), Dawit thoughfully explored the laptop and quickly concluded that it probably just needed to be cleared of viruses. Bingo. 4 hours later I was back… on a Saturday… and picked up the laptop… as good as new.
He provided plenty of helpful advice, is very knowledgeable and is very friendly. Want to support a small business who provides great service? Visit JD’s.

Great and convenient place for getting your iPad screen replaced! I drop my iPad and cracked the screen. Jay fixed it within 1 hours. Great job on the repair with quality part! Strongly recommend!

I originally posted a 5 star rating because they repaired my iPhone 5s screen for a good price but later found out they broke my Touch ID sensor.

I have an iPhone 5 and the screen started lifting due to battery swell. I called the Apple store and they wanted to charge a LOT (warranty expired) and I would have needed to send my phone away. Additionally, they were pressuring me to just purchase the iPhone 6.
Based on the Unilocal reviews, I went to JD’s and here are the pro’s (there are no con’s):
— Friendly customer service (spoke with David)
— They had all the parts needed to repair there at the site. I didn’t have to leave my phone there overnight.
— It was done in 20 minutes
— Great price
I hope the battery doesn’t swell again for another 5 years, lol! But if I need another repair I’ll certainly come here. I’d also recommend anyone to come here as well.

I took my iPad here to be fixed right before the holidays. The gentleman there ran some tests and it turns out it was super easy fix. So easy in fact that he didn’t even charge me for it. Most other places would have charged me for just walking in the door. Fast, kind and honest service I would defiantly recommend this place.

So ironic! I read a review bashing this place because someone drove all the way there and they were closed when they said they were open. I thought to myself, «this person should chill out». I just drove 15 miles to get here and there’s a scrawled note saying they’re closed. Jokes on me.

I cannot rate this company high enough; my toddlers iPad started getting wonky & after calling around, this price was the best. I’m so glad I came here, Dawit was so nice, professional, and offered so many suggestions even before I took it to him. I had the iPad back the same day, I wouldnt hesitate to take anything esle to him as i know it’d be in great hands! Thanks so much Dawit!

Advertised hours are until 7 PM. Called to confirm was told they are only going to be there till 6pm. Confirmed be there before 6pm, arrived 12 minutes early to only find closed doors. If you can use their services maybe ok, but who can trust a dishonest person who confirms and then leaves anyway? I would not trust their work.
UPDATE:
Owner promptly contacted and apologized due to emergency having to leave early. Scheduled another appointment and got iPhone5 screen replaced. Bumping to very generous 4 (5 would have been excellent service from beginning).

UnilocalERS! I, am REAL, these guys @ JD are REAL! Jobs are done quickly and affordably with no BS… last minute job before I was leaving town today, AND it was done in a little over an hour! (IPad Air screen replacent) The price was fair, and they even stayed 10 minutes late so my wife could pick it up! I can’t rate them highly enough! Fix it w JD!

JD replaced our iPad 2’s broken screen this week. Everything went down as expected.
We visited his shop for assessment and he was confident that it could be repaired within a few hours and would have a 90 day warranty. And, if he later found it to be more damaged than expected then there would be no charge.
We agreed and returned a few hours later and iPad was fixed and working. Its been a few days now and iPad continues to work fine, new glass fits perfectly, and there is no sign of damage or repair marks.
We’re happy campers!
