I needed a pedicure BAD, and while driving home after work, decided to swing by this place due to the hot pink sign they have outside, advertising their business. Van did an excellent job and convinced me to get my eyebrows waxed, which she gave me an honest assessment once she was done. That procedure was painless, and a big improvement from my last experience! I will be returning to utilize the 10 percent discount to get my nails done next!

Both tiffany and van do an amazing job with shellac and designs! They both have gone above and beyond to do whatever design I ask for! And take their time !

Pedicures are excellent and the new owners have created an updated environment.
Jenny has moved to a new location and is still my Nail Artist! Experience in nail enhancements and customer service most important to me as a client and I follow my Nail Artist anywhere… pedicures are not as technical as acrylics, although I will return to a pedicurist who can do the best reflexology massage!

With the new owners, the salon is a lot nicer looking and well kept. I used to come to this salon to get my nails done by Jenny, but now she has moved on to another location. With the new year, the salon did raise the prices for acrylic nails and refills so I’m no longer getting my nails done here but I am updating my review because the salon still gives nice pedicures. On that note, there has been times when even with an appointment for pedi’s, there always seems to be a wait. Especially in a group, they agree to take us all together, but someone always ends up being taken much later than everyone else. Last time I didn’t even get my pedicure because my family (group of 3 including myself), was already done and I would be barely starting mine, it didn’t seem worth waiting another 40 minutes at the salon. Though the staff is friendly for the most part, it’s seems like they aren’t very good with time management whether it’s a group or solo.

I don’t go anywhere else. No time for crappy nails, everyone does a great job and prices are reasonable. Just go!

After visiting a previous salon in San Jose, they had failed to actually fix my nails during my fill so two weeks later my nails began lifting. I went to #1 Nails today to get a regular fill and Jenny took the time to fix all of my lifting nails and make my nails look like new! Great customer service, and a very friendly staff. They also have an awesome gel color selection!

even though the owner Changed Jenny still works here. to be honest, Jenny used to be good but now that she doesn’t own the place anymore she doesn’t really care.

I just got done getting my nails done by Jenny and a pedicure by Linda. They did an amazing job the shop has a new owner and is no longer owned by Helen. They took their time and did a wonderful job!

My experience with #1 Nails and Spa went very well. I got my nails done in a timely manner. Not too rushy like other places I’ve been to. The owner is very attentive and her staffs are friendly. The place looks clean and there is plenty of parking in the rear. I would definitely come back in a heart beat.

I got my gel nails done by one of the lovely gal and I couldn’t be happier with the result. It lasted for weeks. Also, she wasn’t pushy nor did I feel rush with the service. My little princess had a manicure and she loved it. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

Jenny is the Best… Happy she still there… Friendly and efficient… Love my nails .No more nail lifting .I don’t have to do my nail every other week.

I drive passed this place many times, and decided that I should tried this place out. The experienced that I had was phenomenal. This place was under new management, even though its still called #1 Nail & Spa.

I have been going here for years since Jenny was the previous owner. The reason I went there was because Jenny’s staff always did a good job. I noticed now that they are under different ownership the work is sloppy. I went for a fill and had to go back because my gel wrinkled up and looked horrible, the re-​did the gel and it looked globbed on so I had to take it off myself because I was embarrassed. I’m thinking of finding somewhere else to go. Very dissapointed not to mention this place is not cheap either, I wasted my money.

I am very disappointed with this Nail shop. I sent my sister here to have a simple fill on her nails. It turned out to be a nightmare for her. Her nails look terrible. The lines on her French manicure are unbearable and crooked. I am completely embarrassed that I even recommended this place to my sister. Thanks a lot Jenny for messing up my sister’s nails, and not offering to fix them like you know how!!! Slow down and pay more attention. Thank you…

Easily one of the worst nail experiences of my life.
I came to this place on a lunch break to get my nails done based on the fact that it is close-​by and used to be Jenny’s Nails which seemed to be highly regarded by Unilocal members. Walking in, the place looks rather old and run down, with a small selection of nail polish paint (most being thick and in need of being replaced). I was greeted immediately and asked for a manicure, but was pushed for gel manicure not once, but three times after repeating that I do not like gel manicure. I understand that the upsell is routine for most nail salons, but I was beginning to feel like it was too pushy after repeatedly turning down the gel manicure.
My manicurist, Tammy, barely said a word to me. I, in fact, was the one who initiated conversation by asking what her name was. She asked what mine was, but that’s pretty much the extent of our conversation. I figured that despite the coldness of my manicurist, that maybe my nails would come out amazing. Wrong.
My cuticles were overly-​nipped where it really burned when alcohol was sprayed on my fingers. As for the usual lotion «massage,» yeah, that was non-​existent. I literally had some old-​smelling lotion just rubbed on my arms and hands for no more than five seconds. Two coats of the polish were globbed on my fingers. After placing it under the heat lamps for maybe three minutes to dry, Tammy told me I was good to go. My nails looked sloppy, as paint was on the edges of my cuticles and my clear coat dried bubbly.
The weird thing about this experience is that business was incredibly slow. Why not take the extra time to really make the whole thing enjoyable, ensuring repeat business? For $ 13 I would have rather taken my business anywhere but here. From the customer service experience, to ultimately what my nails looked like in the end, I will definitely not be returning back. Next time, I will take the drive down to my usual nail salon, Sparenity, for a much more satisfying experience.
To give this place some credit, I did notice that a gal getting her nails done a few seats down from me was a repeat customer. I believe her manicurist’s name was Jennifer. They talked the whole time and Jennifer seemed really nice. So maybe it depends on who you get/​make an appointment with when you come here? I won’t be trying my luck though.

Came here for a quick mani/​pedi with my mom. While mine was done in under an hour, my mom sat and waited for a really long time before anyone came to help her, and very slowly, I might add. I just find it odd that two people can work right next to each other and completely different paces. While my lady was working on me, she kept commenting that she had another appointment that she needed to get to, so she wasn’t super focused on me :(At least the quality of the work (excluding the rushed massages) was good. Price came out to $ 35 for mani/​pedi, $ 70 for both of us. Not sure if I’ll come back… maybe only if I’m in the area.

This is a wonderful nail salon. Helen has done a great job of updating it. It is very clean and the services are excellent!

Helen was very sweet as my friend and I walked in their last half hour being open. Nails are perfect shape and length. Talkative and sweet. Whenever they would speak Vietnamese she told me what they were talking about which was cute, I guess they know how uncomfortable it is being around people speaking a different language you don’t understand– thoughtful. Nice place too :)

Helen — the new owner, is great! I’ve been getting brazilians from her for almost two years now — at her previous salons in mountain view. She is very hard working and always cheerful –and her salon services are efficient and affordable. If you are looking for quick, efficient, clean and affordable — this is it.
I’ve only ever been getting brazilians from her and she is precise, gentle and doesn’t go over the same area more than twice. Her sections are not so small that the process is endless, and not so big, that you want to die before getting the waxing finished. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 mins whenever I set up an appointment, and am in and out quickly.
If you are looking for fancy — look for places with twice the price list.
This is a keeper.

Dont be fooled they changed their name from Jenny ‘s Nails due to all the bad reviews. It was my first time going to this shop. I went in to get a acrylic full set. I asked the lady (by the reception desk) if she knew how to do almond shape nails, she told me she can do whatever shape I just need to show her. I pulled up a picture from Instagram and she said she can so it. When she started to put the nails on I realized some were crooked and some of the nails didn’t even fit on my fingers. She asked me what length I wanted and proceeded to cut them shorter telling me they were to long. I asked her to take them off and start over because I DO NOT LIKE SHORT NAILS. after the new nails she still cut them shorter then what I asked. I was getting upset and she kept telling me it’s ok she will fix it, WRONG! All my nails are different shapes and sizes and only 1 out of 10 of my nails are the shape I wanted. I asked her how much and she tells me $ 35. What? No absolutely not! My nails were short, uneven, thin and a plain color. Not to mention it looked like I needed a fill already. I sat down at 5:07 and was fed up and left at 7:14. That’s crazy. I went home to sleep on it and see how I felt the next day. I work corporate so I deal with computers and paper all day. I was very dissatisfied. I called to talk to the lady who processed to argue with me saying «you were unhappy before you came in and I can’t make you happy» (like she knows me) absolutely not true. After a 17 min back and forth with her she agreed to have me come after work so she can fix it. I get there and she is gone. What? The other girls said she left early. Needless to say never again. Now I have to go spend more money elsewhere to have these ugly nails taken off and done right.

I work near by and decided to call this morning to see if they had availability for a mani/​pedi during my lunch break. When I walked in, I enjoyed the cleanness of the salon, I was greeted with a warm welcoming from all staff, and what I loved the most was there were two ladies waiting for me, I was able to get my mani and pedi done at the same time so I wouldn’t be late back to work. They did a great job and prices are reasonable. I will def be back!

This is my first review on Unilocal and it couldn’t be more worth it! This place is phenomenal. Great customer service and amazing skills. I personally go to Jenny who owned this location that was previously called Jenny’s nails. She is the brilliant and the other women do fabulous work too! MUST TRY THIS PLACE OUT!!!
