Specialties

Sea Salt Therapy is a respiratory wellness center. We help clients who suffer from asthma, allergy, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, Sinusitis, Bronchitis, emphysema and other ailments to cut back on their medications, inhalers and nebulizers.

Sea Salt Therapy is 100% natural, safe and drug free. It provides effective relief from respiratory ailments without any side effects.

How does salt therapy work?

Salt acts like an expectorant, accelerating mucus clearance and improving lung function while killing harmful bacteria and soothing the respiratory system. During the 45-minute session, our clients can relax, enjoy music or read in our cozy spa-like salt covered rooms while breathing in microscopic salt particles.

Classes:

*Special meditation classes, sound healing & qigong

Check our event calendar for upcoming classes.

History

Established in 2012.

The benefits of salt therapy were first noticed by Dr. Feliks Bockowski– a physician at the Polish salt mine at Wielczka, in 1843 he formulated that air in the salt mines, saturated with dry salt particles, caused healing effects on people with pulmonary and respiratory discomforts.

Modern use of this therapy started in Germany when Dr. Karl Hermann Spannagel noticed improvement in the health of his patients after they hid in the Kluterthohle Karst Cave to escape bombing during WWII.

After the war, Dr. Spannagel and others conducted studies and opened caves throughout Eastern Europe for the treatment of asthma and other respiratory conditions. This type of therapy is known as speleotherapy, after the Greek word for cave (speleon). As special salt rooms were developed, the popularity of the therapy spread throughout Europe and it became known as halotherapy, after the Greek word ‘halon’ or salt. Halotherapy is now practiced worldwide.

Meet the Business Owner

Angela K.

Business Owner

I was inspired to open Sea Salt Therapy because of my own struggle with severe allergies, sinusitis, and asthma. Even with a large dose of medication my days were miserable; the constant sneezing, coughing, runny nose and the lack of sleep took a great toll on my life.

As a native European, I was familiar with the many benefits of salt therapy. After a series of sessions, the quality of my life improved tremendously and I no longer suffer from any respiratory ailments.

Salt therapy had such a positive effect on my health that my daughter, Klaudia and I decided to bring the wonderful healing benefits of Sea Salt Therapy to the Silicon Valley, where one in five people suffer from asthma and allergies.

We love what we do, because we are making a difference in other people’s lives.
