Not sure why this page says this restaurant has moved, I walked right in to the Middlefield Rd. in Menlo Park location last week. Maybe there’s multiple locations? This is a group review. It’s not super detailed but rather just a few key notes that most of us agreed on. –Large restaurant compared to others in the area –We all tried tacos of various meats and they were all good –Compared to other taquerias in the area, the tacos were priced a little higher –Restrooms available –Clean

Food is great and the customer service is okay. But five stars on them burritos though. I mean we all see an occasional Latina being sassy, so based on the above I give it 5 stars!

Mediocre food, bad service. Don’t bother eating here. Service was disappointing-we both ordered drinks and while my husband’s arrived right away, mine did not materialize for a long time. Next, food also took a long time to materialize and when my food finally did arrive at the table my husband was told that they had no chicken enchiladas – so I was left eating my meal while he waited for his meal to come. I hoped at least the food would be better but it was equally disappointing. My tostada salad was mostly chopped romaine lettuce with 4 thin slices of tomato and cucumber along with a drizzle of sour cream so faint it was not tasteable. Underneath was a smattering of dessicated beef and allegedly refried beans, which if present were as dry as the beef(think beef jerky). Although I ordered the salad with no avocado there they were, sitting atop the plate. My husband’s cheese enchiladas were bland at best. The bill came to $ 36 for the two dishes, a bottle of beer and a margarita. Money poorly spent.

Since they changed the menu, this place is much better. The meat is greatly improved, the prices are low again, and the service is quick. This place was not very good for a while, but things are seriously better. If you were turned off by this place before, I suggest giving it another try!

So I was coming home from church on a Sunday night with my Mother and she suggested that we eat a burrito from Rico’s Tacos in the shopping plaza where the Safeway store on Winchester is across from the Campbell Light Rail station… unfortunately it was closed so I suggested we go to the new taqueria that had recently opened up near the 7 – 11 adjacent to there, and off we went. When I got there I had to do an immediate about-face because this place was LOUD, apparently they employ an in-house mariachi band and the place was just jam-packed to the rafters with the sound of mariachi music, something my Nicaraguan ears do not like hearing because although I am ethnically and racially about as Mexican as you can be(with a little African admixture thrown in) my country and Mexico are light-years apart in culture and I was raised in Campbell, I went to high school in Saratoga and I am a Heavy Metal fan to boot!(GOBLACKMORE!!!) So there you go. About the only thing Mexican I like is their food and I went to this taqueria with average expectations and after EXPERIENCING their Regular burrito I must say this place knows how to cook a burrito!!! I don’t know why it’s gotten such dismal ratings but my burrito was excellent, the carne asada was cooked, marinated and seasoned exactly like real Mexican carne asada should be, I mean straight off of la parilla, the beans were«bien cocico«as we say, the rice was moist, flavorful and it melted in your mouth, the avocado was fresh and creamy, and the pico de gallo, salsa and cheese added the finishing touch to an already great meal. The way the flour tortilla itself was heated should have been a portent to what kind of meal I was going to have, I mean it came out at just the right temperatue, crispy and they cut the burrito and folded in a way reminiscent of a fine Mexican restaurant and not a standard taqueria. I will definitely come back here to try their tacos next, and then the end-all, tell-tale meal to tell me if this place is a champion: their enchiladas. So stay tuned, folks, but if you want a good burrito by all means do yourself a favor and visit Taqueria Apatzingan ASAP.

We used to go to this place and I don’t know why we haven’t been here for awhile. Now I know why. I came here this morning at 11:30. I ordered the seabass taco and grilled chicken burrito. The burrito came first. I noticed that it wasn’t that hot and when I got to the chicken, it was hard and bland. I tried to give it a chance but it wasn’t worth it and returned it. The fish was bland, too. I didn’t ask for another and what for, get the same quality? It was old chicken that they re-heated but it wasn’t even warm. What a waste of money!

Aweful… Only word there is to describe this garbage they served us. I went there because i was hungry, not because i wanted to be shitting for three days after. Dont eat here unless you enjoy being sick and spending time in the bathroom regretting your past decisions. Zero stars but Unilocal wont let me.

Ughhh someone told me about this place, my cousin and I were craving mexican food so we gave this place a try. Last time I’m ever going again. The tacos were disgusting and the meat was undercooked and we took it to go so we didn’t want to bother to go back and make a complaint. I just decided to throw them away. Waste of my money! Should of known! I should of just sticked to my favorite mexican place Rico’s Tacos right down the street on the shopping center next door.

Came back today and they had completely changed their menu. They got rid of all of their dishes that were traditionally from apatzingan. Totally disappointed.

I just wandered in(as I was tired of fighting beach traffic). It was a very simple place, but the food was FANTASTIC! I had 2 tacos: al pastor and asada. Both were a delight to eat! Then I had a pro enchilada, not the best I’ve ever had, but very good!

Im not sure who bought this place, but its not the same. I used to enjoy coming here, but I will not come here again. I ordered a fish burrito and a cheese quesadilla to go, and it came out to $ 19.00, a little high in my opinion. I get home and the quesadilla is just a small flour tortilla with no Guacamole or crema. They no longer have the burrito Apatzingan and the food isn’t that good anymore. They need to hire a better cook

My best friend was visiting from Hawaii and she was dying for some Mexican food. Since my son started getting cranky I just looked a place up on Unilocal and this place popped up. I absolutely loved their tacos! It was a smaller shop but it works out since it’s literally a hole in the wall. I definitely think people should try it.

My boyfriend and I kind of stumbled on this place because we were on our way to an event and decided to just see what was in the area when we got there. I don’t know what it was that drew us here, but by a total shot in the dark, we found this place. Maybe I’m a snob, but I wouldn’t normally stop at a place like this unless it was recommended or I read good things about it, but I’m glad we found it! It’s in a parking lot that’s a little run down, and off a busy road, but this place epitomizes the phrase«Don’t judge a book by its cover.» Inside, the place was freshly painted, clean, and has TVs around, but the tables and chairs kind of brought it down and there was hardly anyone there around 7 on a Thursday, which honestly made me nervous as far as whether the food was going to be good. I ordered the potato flautas and my boyfriend got a chimiganga. The girl at the register was SUPER sweet and nice. She said she gave me a large horchata when we’d paid for a regular, not going to argue with that! She brought chips and salsa to the table. They were a little underwhelming. I’m pretty sure the chips were store bought, but the salsa was fresh. We had to wait a while for the food, but it was worth the wait because it came out fresh and wonderful. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The flautas were beautiful, crispy and delicious. They came with a generous helping of rice and beans too. My boyfriend concurred that his food was exceptional, we considered this a really really great find and were so happy to have tried it! Drop by if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed!

clean cafeteria esque style with great food that is fresh and you will get full on top of it. It’s not at all cheap which is a bit surprising given the neighborhood it’s in next to an old school semi new/semi old Safeway shopping center! Really though the beef and beans on tacos or burritos are really good.

Not bad, not great. Seems a bit pricey for rice and beans, so I try to stick with the breakfast burritos(less expensive than the regular burros). Good red salsa — nice kick to it. Take-out is better than eating there(service isn’t great in the morning). I don’t know why, I’m just not too enthusiastic about the place good or bad.

I have always liked this little neighborhood Taqueria– it’s close to my house and has yummy tacos and burritos. They have a couple flat screen TVs and the place is really clean and nice. The reason for the 3 stars is they recently raised their prices a lot– I went in the other day and 2 tacos and 1 regular chicken burrito was a little over $ 15– kinda pricey for a taqueria in my opinion.

I can’t say enough good stuff about this place. The lady who works here is INSANELY sweet and friendly, very conscientious and considerate about making sure I have plenty of utensils, napkins, salsa containers with fitting lids, etc. etc. Which moves me to the salsa — after mediocre taqueria after taqueria, I was beginning to forget the subtler nuances of GOOD flavor in salsas. This taqueria knows how to inject pure flavor into the sauces, fresh salsas, and grilled meats. The tacos are muy delicioso, from carne asada to al pastor, with the corn tortillas grilled to outer-edge crisp perfection. The chicken mole was the best I’ve had in a looong time(basically since I dumped my boyfriend at 19, whose mother previously had the record on mole sauce). Haven’t made my way to the burritos yet, but the quesadillas are rockin’. This place makes my taste buds extremely happy, and while I wouldn’t say it is better or worse than my dear Adelita’s(simply by virtue of the styles being different), I have to admit– eek, and with much trepidation do I admit this! But, Taqueria Apatzingan fits my location, hours, and taco preferences much better… in fact, I find myself driving over to Winchester much more frequently to get my CrossFit and taqueria fix on, and driving on Curtner muuuuch less, which is probably all the better, because, well, we all know what lurks on Curtner…(fare thee well, my beloved Krispy Kreme and Adelitas… I will be back on another binge day!).

I think I am slightly addicted to this place… or maybe it’s just a matter of convenience. Probably the second one. Anyhow, like I have said in the reviews before this– the carne asada tacos and the wet burrito with the red sauce are bomb. HOWEVER, today I tried their super chicken tacos and it was a complete failure. The meat was extremely bland and dumping salsa or hot sauce didn’t alleviate it either. It most definitely disappointed me. I would stick with the beef here. It seems that’s what they are good at.
