McLarens Carpet One

I enjoyed working with McLaren’s. Steve McLaren himself actually came out to do the estimate and he was professional and personable. I’m sorry to see the negative reviews, because my experience was so positive, and the team clearly cares deeply about the quality of work that they do.

Went to mclarens carpet one to find a runner for our stairway. We found a gorgeous pattern and asked the customer service lady if it could be made into a runner even though we had a stairway with an angle. She said absolutely and pulled out a laptop and showed us examples of how they could do it. We set up a estimate for the following day with the understanding we would have the estimate in hand the morning after measurements were took.
The man who came out to take measurements for the estimate was on time. He took measurements and then told my wife that they could not do the job that we were asking, that we could do a runner on the stairs but the landing where the stairs turn had to be fully carpeted. My wife told him that the lady in the store showed examples of how they could do it, the man then replied «oh she did, did she? Why don’t you wait for your husband to come home and let him decide».
I did not hear from customer service with my estimate the next morning as previously agreed upon. That afternoon I called mclarens and talked to a gentleman and asked if could get the estimate. He replied «sure, I will pull that up and call your right back». Well he never did call me back that day.
The next day in the afternoon I finally heard from the original customer service lady I think named Susan. She gave a poor explanation of why they could not do the job we asked but did offer a quote for the job we did not want done. I told her I would get back to her after I talked to my wife.
The next morning I called Susan and asked her if she could email me the quote along with the linear footage. She said she would do that right away. It has been several days and I still have yet to receive that email.
Not sure if mclarens is known for their lack of follow through or not, but I for one will take my business elsewhere. I do not recommend using them and will gladly spread the word to anyone who asks.

We purchased carpet from McLarens in 2014. The sales staff was helpful and professional. The installation crew was a nightmare. They damanged walls, furniture, woodwork and even left without re-​installing a door. When we complained to the office, they made no offer to remedy the situation.
Will not patronize again.

Great high quality materials and work. I have used them several times for my carpet and flooring needs and will continue to do so.
