Cannon Beach Hotel

Great hotel for the price! Bed was cozy, bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good. Staff was very nice. The shower temp was hard to control, and the house keepers left all the dirty glasses and old wine bottle in room after first night. Maybe she thought that we weren’t done with it but I can’t imagine she thought we were drinking all that at 10 am in our room… I would def stay here again. Close to Irish Table restaurant and the screw and brew so that was nice. Town does shut down super early. You can not get anything to eat anywhere after 10pm. Like I said though, we would stay here again.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend, so when me and my husband wanted to take a «mini-​moon» after recently getting married we thought this would be the perfect place and perfect it was! The staff was incredible, very helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival there was a plate of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! the room we stayed in was so beautiful and relaxing. We felt very «at home». The maintenance man even came up to our room at 10pm to show us how to use the old antique claw foot tub when I decided I wanted to soak in a nice relaxing bath and couldn’t figure it out ! We will absolutely be returning in the future and I’ll recommend this place to any and everyone!

We stayed here 3 nights in room #5. I knew based on the website that the room would be small but it’s really small… just enough space to fit a bed, chair, and armoire/​TV stand with enough room at the foot of the bed for 1 person to walk by. The TV is facing the side of the bed so you have turn on your side to watch it. There is a ceiling fan but no AC so it can get hot during the summer months. We were there late August and I found it somewhat stuffy and uncomfortable. The circular shower stall is tight too where you are touching the shower curtains (yikes!). The hotel itself is in a good location a few blocks from the beach and about 10 blocks away from the busy shops on Hemlock. The lobby and café is quaint. They serve the same breakfast option each day so don’t expect variety. Free hot drinks, taffy, and afternoon cookies are offered. They will also let you borrow short beach towels and chairs. I will probably either get a bigger room next time or book at another establishment with AC.

This hotel was a great place to stay for the beach wedding we were attending. I loved the historical building, it was absolutely beautiful inside and out. My husband and I and another couple stayed in the Suite. Although the room was a little small for 4 adults, it wasn’t unbearable. Since none of their rooms had two legitimate beds, we did have to sleep on a pull out couch, but it was pretty comfortable. The hotel is only a short walk to the beach which was perfect! Our favorite thing was the breakfast at the hotel, it was delicious! The staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate us any way they could. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cannon Beach!

Lame. We stood at the please wait to be seated sign for ample time with no acknowledgement, even with the manager standing within sight by the computer. During this time we heard another table say, «this is ridiculous» they got up and left with menus still on the table. That was our sign to hit the road.

Stayed two nights to celebrate our anniversary. Loved every moment! Our room was lovely, the service exceptional, breakfast delicious. The staff is wonderful and go out of their way to accommodate any requests. They even surprised us with a beautiful bottle of champagne! Will definitely stay here again!

Wandered into this hotel on a girls trip down the Pacific Coast Highway. Front desk staff was wonderful and the B&B was lovely. We stayed in the suite and loved the bathroom with all the upscale toiletries, soft towels, and deep clawfoot tub. The highlight of this place is the wonderful breakfast that is included with your stay. The food was amazing, all three of us are picky cooks and we couldn’t have been more happy with the homemade scones and house made granola. Everything was exceptionally delicious! Highly recommend this quaint B&B.

We stopped here for lunch on our last visit to the North Oregon Coast.
The menu is limited but everything was fresh. I tried the french dip sandwich and it was great – made with real roast beef and au jus from the roast, not the cheap watery, super-​salty bullion like so many places serve. The pickles were homemade, and very tasty. Hubby tried the grilled cheese and the clam chowder. We both loved the chowder. It’s homemade, it was hot and it was delish. Actually one of the best chowders we’ve had at the coast and that’s saying a lot because we’ve tried many chowders all along the north to south coast in Oregon.
The service was just okay; polite but not overly friendly or attentive. We felt the prices were a bit high for sandwiches but considering the town they are located in that’s not surprising.
Good to know:
* Close to the beach; might be nice to get food to go and have a picnic in good weather.
*On street parking or public lot across the street.
*Charming historic building. The café was clean and cozy.
*Restroom is in the attached hotel and not gender specific. The door did not lock when we visited and the hotel desk clerk seemed shocked (disbelieving?) when we mentioned it to him.

When we checked in Friday it was for two nights. Checking out Sunday morning now we are booked for 3 nights and checking out early? What? The person at the front desk took 30 minutes to check us in on Friday it was clear the reservation was for 2 nights when checking in Friday. Gave me one form to sign with the nightly rate but no total. I was expecting to get a receipt but this hotel doesn’t do that once you complain about something. Called later Sunday to book a room and there was no vacancy so they rebooked our room that we paid for that night and wouldn’t refund the single night due to their mistake at check in.
Rooms were ok but pretty dirty. No deep clean ever done on them. You can tell they let dogs in the room. Gross if you have little kids like we do.
For the money check with other hotels on the water in the off season. Found another place with ocean view for less money per night.
What a mistake we made by staying here.

My husband and I stayed here (in rm 1) for one night this past week and it was a wonderful experience!
The inn is incredibly charming both outside and in and I found the staff to be both pleasant and helpful.
Overall the 100 yr old Inn is incredibly well maintained. Cute and cozy with a fire always blazing in front of the comfortable chairs in the lobby.
Our room wasn’t huge, but all we needed for a short stay where we spent more time outside than in. It was great to come back to the fireplace in our room after walking around outside in the stormy weather, which was just what we wanted to experience.
Haystack rock is literally right out the back door and it is a short walk north to the shops and restaurants. Pizza A’Fetta was delicious!
The hotel happened to be celebrating it’s 100 year anniversary while we were there and we were invited into the restaurant for champagne and appetizers. The appetizers were delicious and my glass was never less than half empty. It was all on the house to celebrate the wonderful history of the place.
We ended the night by borrowing a DVD from the inn’s collection planning to watch it in our room in front of the fire. The DVD player (or maybe the DVD itself) didn’t work, but the fire and cozy room, listening to the wind and rain outside made up for it.
The breakfast is homemade and wonderful. The hash browns were amazing and again my champagne glass remained full, all included in our reasonable room rate.
I can’t speak more highly of the wonderful experience we had here and I absolutely cannot wait to return.

DO NOT STAY HERE.
The website writes that the rooms in the Courtyard «feature spa tubs.» After we arrived and discovered that our room had a small dingy bathroom with no spa tub, we called the front desk to find out what had happened. The manager, Linda, informed us that the language on the website was incorrect, and should say «some rooms feature spa tubs.» When we asked to switch rooms, the manager told us that we could move, but only the next day, and that there would be an increase in price. When we tried to explain that we felt we had gotten a bait-​and-​switch deal, the manager immediately turned rude and obstinate, talking over us, shouting «OH MY GOD,» and refusing to make any concessions (aside from a whopping $ 10 off of the rate increase). The manager told us that she would rather us leave the hotel than for us to switch rooms without a significant rate increase. So… we left. It was awful. We will definitely be taking up the (non-​refundable) room fee with Visa, as we feel that we received truly deplorable customer service. There are many other wonderful hotels in the area, and we encourage all Unilocal users to look elsewhere.

Just O.K. This is a quaint, New England style Inn located about a block from the beach. The atmosphere of the hotel is great and the café is pretty good. However, the front desk is staffed by an unfriendly lady named Holly who definitely doesn’t belong in the hospitality business. Also, the rooms are small and our room only had a double bed. Combine the tiny bed with a hot room that is impossible to cool and you have a pretty tough time sleeping. I’d say this would be a better place to stay in the cooler months. On the plus side, the owner, Pierre, is a very warm and friendly man and it is for his sake I had a really hard time writing this less-​than-​positive review.
The only way I’d stay here again is if they got rid of Holly.

Pros: Nice room, reasonable rate, good location (2 blocks from the beach)
Cons: Noisy (thin walls/​ceiling), not very customer friendly
Stayed in a ground floor «Courtyard» room. Pleasant room but not very peaceful due to being able to hear everything going on above us and next door to us. The bed was nice – very firm. Gas fireplace, jetted tub, slow Internet. Lots of rules: clean the kitchenette or you’ll be charged a fee; don’t lose your key or you’ll be charged a fee; if you need to change your reservation you’ll be charged a fee. I don’t regret staying here, but next time I’ll try somewhere else.

Truly one of the best places to stay in Cannon Beach.
It may not look the part from the outside but wait until you step inside the courtyard and go into your room. Super modern, gorgeous, beautiful views, perfect, perfect, PERFECT!
There’s a really pretty courtyard to sit outside and read, a library of books and dvd’s and of course the beach is in your backyard.
I wanted to stay an extra day but we were on a time crunch to get back home, but this hotel is just perfect.
However I should forewarn you THERE’S NO EARLY CHECK IN! They stay strict and tight to their 4p check in time so don’t go in and get disappointed, I warned you!

It is very nice and cute B&B in a small town.
The issue of hand washing the dishes and payment terms are all clearly listed on the contract therefore we don’t have any problem with it.
I wish the hotel can list the actual square footage of each room online. We stayed in room #7 for 2 nights, the room was much smaller than the pictures. Water pressure in the room was fine but the power outlet seems very loose.
I am so glad the hotel provides wifi because believe it or not, both of our phones (ATT + T-​Mobile) has zero coverage there. Free DVD rental is a life saver: if you are not a super big fan of outdoor activities and sandy beach, you can get so bored within 24 hours in Cannon Beach.
The room rate includes complimentary breakfast: it saved us $$ to have mediocre breakfast elsewhere in town. I highly suggest to get French Press and stick to their granola. Other items are just standard breakfast thing.

A word of caution. We were required to hand wash the dishes for the next guests and there is not a dish washer. Aside from the obvious risk that guests may do this poorly it seems a pet friendly room might allow Fido may do the dishes
Otherwise quite a nice room and friendly people.

Wow, fantastic bed and breakfast!!! Pierre the friendly co-​owner who greets you in the café is the most pleasant individual and most informative host I’ve encountered. So hospitable and creates a beautiful atmosphere for your morning selection… quiche, pastries, homemade granola, fresh fruit, and much more!!!
Memorable…I recommend this place to anyone who appreciates quality and comfort!!! Tastefully decorated and the finishing touches are hard to miss.
I loved the bathroom details… nostalgic and relaxing. Very comfortable custom made mattress.
Consider this place among the best on the Oregon coast.

Words cannot express how happy my boyfriend & I are with our trip to Cannon Beach! From the location, to the staff, to the hotel itself – everything was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway!
Check-​in time for the Cannon Beach Hotel is anywhere between 3pm to 10pm. Since the boyfriend & I didn’t head out of Seattle until late afternoon, we were worried we wouldn’t make it in time. I called the hotel to schedule a late check-​in & the receptionist gladly made the arrangements. Fortunately, we got there at 930pm.
When we arrived, we were surprised at how beautiful the lobby was! It’s definitely a New England-​styled hotel! Very clean & quaint with tasteful decorations. We were instantly greeted by the ever-​so-​kind nighttime receptionist «R» & given the necessary information to our room & the area.
We stayed in the spacious «Exclusive» room number 7 on the second floor. This room consists of a posted queen-​sized bed, two bathrooms, a fireplace, a small table with two chairs, two lounge chairs in front of a flat screen TV, & the only view of Haystack Rock in the hotel.
The bed had soft, lightweight sheets that were still able to keep us very warm, which I love because I want to be cozy without feeling suffocated by heavy blankets. The main bathroom has a one-​person rainforest shower, sink, & toilet. This bathroom was nicely stocked with toiletries & towels. The other bathroom has a two-​person claw tub with a small sitting chair & towels hanging from a warming rack. To be honest, the bath tub was one of the reasons I chose this room for us. It’s definitely a great way to wind down with the one you love. During the day, we’d relax on the lounge chairs & at night, we’d cuddle up to a movie from downstairs. The hotel offers a list of DVD titles to borrow :)
In the mornings from 8am to 10am, they serve an open breakfast downstairs in their small dining facility adjoining the lobby. There was quiche, coffee & tea, milk & juice, some pastries, yogurt, fruits, & cereals. A delicious light breakfast to start a day of exploring!
One of the best parts about this hotel is its location. It’s only a minute walk from the beach, a parking lot away from the Wayfarer restaurant, & nearby are several coffee shops & convenient stores.
This hotel couldn’t get any better. Everything we needed was a short distance away, our room was a wonderful haven away from home, & the hotel staff were beyond friendly & accommodating. We will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful bed and breakfast very close to Haystack Rock. Easy to get to off of highway 101. Cute town with great hikes nearby.
Pros:
— The atmosphere of the hotel is cozy and quaint — has a lot of charm, was very clean and everyone was very friendly.
— It’s very close to the beach — a very short walk through a parking lot area and you’re there.
— The hotel provides beach chairs and towels, which we took advantage of to watch the sunset.
— There are very lax (or maybe none at all) rules about having a drink on the beach. We took a bottle of wine and wine glasses to watch the sunset from the public beach — being used to Jersey beaches we felt like the Beach Patrol was out to get us but instead, in true west coast fashion, they didnt bat an eye and waved to us.
— There are 2 great restaurants right across the street — The Irish Table (upscale, rustic, fresh fish) and Cannon Beach Hardware and Public House (great bar food, super casual, burgers. This place is actually a hardware store and a bar in one).
Things to know:
— We visited in Aug 2013 and the room was very warm when we got it. Since it’s nice and cool outside (at night went down to low/​mid 60s) we were able to keep the windows open and were fine. However, we did need to deal with noise outside.
— The hotel is a good walk outside of the town center — maybe a half mile or so — but you can walk on the beach or along the road, which has sidewalks.
— The hotel bathrooms are adorable but the shower is a pain. The 2 options we had were a bath and separate stall shower with an overhead shower head. The shower itself was very small and a bit claustrophobic — the hotel actually recommends turning off the water to lather up and then turning it back on to rinse.

We just stayed at the Cannon Beach Hotel for 2 nights in July. This cute bed and breakfast was on the main street Hemlock Street in Cannon Beach and 2 blocks away from the beach entrance near Haystack beach. It also has free on-​site parking
Checking in: Nice and Easy! The front desk walked us through their hotel and what they have to offer.
Room: We got a tub and a shower! Bathroom has two sinks with all the accommodations you can think of, such as shower cap, hair turbine, bath soak, lotion, makeup eye remover, shampoo, conditioner, cotton balls/​q-​tips, etc. I utilized the bath tub for soaks every night. The bath soak comes with a tray where it could hold your beverage! The room also came with a fireplace, comfy seating area, and a writing desk. It has an ipod player (for the older generation not the iphone5 plug).
Accommodations: Your able to borrow movies from a wide selection, borrow beach towels/​chairs. They really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable! We used their beach towels to lay out. We also woke up in the morning and enjoyed their breakfast and coffee. They had variety of food such as eggs, croissant, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and etc. They had milk, OJ, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for beverages. The owner/​manager even gave me a to-​go cup for my coffee so i can have one when we left for the day! They also have trays so you can bring food back to your room.
Only con was that our room was #9 located on the main level and it is near the hotel’s general restroom, and the Hotel’s office/​utility room. I would hear footsteps and chatter outside in the morning. Wifi didn’t work at times but it worked most of the time.
