O C Breeze Heating & Air Conditioning

So once again I needed to have my heater checked. Greg came out, listened to the problem, crawled up into my tiny attic where the heater lives and did some testing. After swapping out my thermostat, he concluded my circuit board needed to be replaced. Not a surprise for a 20-​year old unit.
Greg gave me some options and we decided to replace the unit. His price was reasonable and the unit was installed the next day. It’s great to have heat when it gets down to the low 40s at night!
I recommend Greg and his team. They are knowledgeable, prompt, and reasonable.

When I called and requested an estimate for a new system, Greg showed up right away, and was very up front about the scope, schedule and service. I requested estimates from other firms, who were sometimes slow to respond, evasive about the final cost, or more expensive. Would that Unilocal went higher than five stars. Working with Greg at OC Breeze has been a great experience. It all started back in July when the compressor unit at our recently-​purchased home stopped working and we were fighting with the home warranty company to fix it. Greg came out and gave a second opinion, catching many problems the other guys (sent by the warranty company) didn’t. He charged a very small amount and suggested I take the problems he found back to the warranty company (as if I had found them) to try to get everything fixed under the policy. Well, after weeks of messing around with the warranty company and the various incompetents they sent out to waste our time, we decided to take a small pay-​out from them and replace the whole system. Greg was back two or three days later (as soon as the unit arrived to him) and had it installed and working great in one day.
More recently, the thermostat (which we hadn’t replaced) finally died and our attempts to wire a new one weren’t working. Greg came out, found a blown fuse, got everything working and didn’t even charge us for the service call!
Great guy to work with. Responsive and a straight shooter. Can’t recommend him enough.

Greg was awesome! He came on a Sunday and squeezed us in right before a date with his girlfriend to watch football — now that’s customer service. The visit was quick, easy, and painless. He was honest about the problem and charged a very reasonable price. We will definitely use Greg for our HVAC work in the future.

I can’t say enough great things about Greg at OC Breeze. We had changed our air filter and when we went to go turn on the AC, nothing. We had called several companies on Saturday and Greg called us back Sunday morning at 8:30. None of the other companies have called us back yet. Greg talked us through a fix on the thermostat and it worked! Now, that is service. We will be a lifelong customer!

Greg was wonderful! Air conditioner was not releasing cold air. I had a company come out last summer and rather than just look for a leak, they just put Freon in and left it. Greg took the time to explain what he was doing and fixed the unit. I was also able to get a speedy appointment during a heat wave. Repair was not cheap, but her was thorough!

On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I would give OC BREEZE A 10 STAR REVIEW!!! On the hottest Friday afternoon of the year, I came home from work and it was 90 degrees inside my house in Mission Viejo, I clicked on the AC and it would NOT COME ON! I have a chronic pain condition and it’s difficult for me to control my body temperature, so this was a huge medical concern for me!
I began calling AC guys who had 5 stars on Unilocal!First guy couldn’t come for 2 weeks, next office lady wanted a commitment to replace entire unit, several didn’t answer the phone and I had to leave 6 or 7 messages, by now it was 6:30 on Friday night! I was in a complete sweat, starting to panic, and feeling horrible.
I called Greg from OC Breeze. He answered the phone! I gave him a brief rundown of my problem, he talked with me for 20+ minutes helping me try to troubleshoot. He then told me he would be there the next morning. He called on Saturday as promised, and showed up at 8:30! A nice-​looking kind man, he explained what he was looking for and testing and was sweet to my dogs! After an hour or so, he diagnosed the problem. He called around and was able to find some parts near Hemet that saved us a LOT of money, I thought I would be driving to Hemet! Nope, he was going to visit a relative in that direction, so he picked everything up for us.
So…by Monday morning… our AC was working better than it has in 15 years AND we found an EXCELLENT HVAC repair company that saved us a lot of $$money$$! Thank you GREG for your professionalism, your sensitivity toward my health condition, and your humor that got us ALL through this crazy ordeal! Used OC Breeze again to install new unit plus a call out last weekend (small issue) The reply from my text was within hours. Greg came over as soon as he was able and fixed the problem straight away, speedy and with great professionalism. Its such a pleasure to find trades people who are truly service minded. Greg is exceptional. He is friendly, trustworthy, professional and great at his trade. He diagnosed the issue of my A/​C (related to a mis-​wired thermostat) and fixed it quickly and efficiently, while explaining to me along the way so I know what’s going on. He also gave great tips on how I should continue to maintain the condition of my A/​C. Unlike many other contractors who would be trying to get you to pay for other services or parts or new units, Greg is such a pleasure to work with.
In terms of communication, Greg responds very quickly to inquiries and calls. (One thing to note: if you submit a service request online and didn’t hear back within a day, it might be because the request didn’t go through properly — which was what happened in my case. I called Greg and he was able to schedule me in)
I would definitely be using Greg again if I have A/​C related issues in the future!

I really appreciate that Gregg got back to me quickly, showed up on time and talked me through what he was doing. He was very honest, he could have sold me stuff that I didn’t need but didn’t. I’m getting my place ready to rent and I called him to give me a check up on my heating and AC. He fixed some problems that I had and did it all for the price of a service call. I submitted a service request after buying a house and my inspector telling me we had the wrong size fuses for our AC unit. Went to a major home store and they were clueless as to what I needed. Greg from OC Breeze called me back very quickly after I submitted the request and told me exactly what I needed. He could have come out to my house and charged me for a simple fix but instead instructed me how I could do it myself and save some money. Every 5 Star review held true!!! My heater of 20 years just stopped working a week ago. We tried rebooting it (turning it off/​on, unplugging, checking breakers, etc.), but nothing worked. It did spontaneously kick in, but not for long. The unit is old, so I dreaded the cost to replace it. After freezing yesterday, I researched who to call. After an hour, I narrowed down best choices from Unilocal reviews and Greg/​OC Breeze bubbled to the top, especially with customer service and non-​ripp off reviews. I understood there was a charge to come out an access the heater and fix it, but to me, I needed his expertise. Based on everyone’s feedback, calling him was a sure shot from the alternative of calling a «corporate company» to come out with a time-​window and a product to sell (new furnace).
Well…what do you think happened? He answered the phone right away when i called. He was just leaving a job in Newport Coast, had another brief stop in Dana Point, and said he could come by my house before leaving to another in Laguna. How’s that for fast service. Almost like calling a best buddy to help you out in a pinch. Only difference is that he is an expert!
I was sure I needed a new unit. Nope. My 20 year old furnace needed a $ 30-​ish dollar part (little motor part for the blower) and an air filter. He told me to go to a local hardware store for the filter since it would be on a few bucks, rather than going to the big guys and pay $ 20+. To get me by, he took my original filter and cleaned it like new, replaced it and told me to turn on the unit and let the new air start circulating through the house. I’m sitting here right now in a toasty warm house and back to enjoying my Christmas thru NY stay-​cation at home. AND most importantly, I am not out major $$$$$$$ of buying a new furnace; less than $ 50 for new parts.
Summary, you get what you pay for. Greg has an honest & MORE THAN FAIR rate for his incredible expertise, his wonderful customer service, being only a phone call away 24 – 7. He just saved me tons of money that I would have spent due to my lack of knowledge of furnaces. He didn’t take advantage – he actually taught me about the furnace, the problem and solution. I watched and learned as he walked me through every step. If you’re not interested in learning, you just want him to fix it, he’ll do this too. But I’m the curious type, so he was more than happy to show me the issue and resolution… plus how to prevent it in the future. (bad air filter never changed)
