The Learning Tree Preschool

Wonderful staff. Cute and cozy school. Kids learn a lot here and have fun. Ms. Bev is especially great.

So far so good. My son has been coming to this school for about 5 months now and all the teachers are really nice and so are the kids. I’m not really sure what to base or judge a pre school on as my child is only 2 but he’s been pretty happy since starting.

I can not recommend this preschool more. After my daughter told us she wanted to go to school, we did a tour at The Learning Tree, and enrolled her immediately without touring another school. The staff is so welcoming and friendly, the curriculum allowed for each child to develop at their own pace and express themselves as individuals, there seemed to be ample «play» time, which to me is just as important, if not more, than structured learning time. Her first day of school, after spending 3.5 years at home with me, I came to pick her up and she told me she wanted to stay and asked me to go back home! Unfortunately we are moving, and one of the saddest parts is leaving The Learning Tree.

I can’t tell you how amazing this school has been in helping my daughter catch up and develop quickly. My four year old began The Learning Tree, after years of traveling abroad. With little communication in english when she was socializing in Tokyo, her skills were a little behind, as to be expected. She started in March in Ms. Jane’s class, and has DRAMATICALLY improved in all levels of education. With speech, memory, writing, and even reading. She would joyfully come home every day and have many songs to sing to me that «My Ms Jane» taught her. Ms. Jane is an exceptional teacher and was exactly what my daughter needed to transition into Ms. Bev’s TK program. Ms. Bev was the first teacher I met at the school, and originally the only reason why I enrolled her here in the first place. A truly lovely person who is organized and encouraging, and I know will take Hadley into the next phase of her education. Ms. Lisa and the rest of the staff are so kind, friendly, and it is truly positive atmosphere to be in. The one phrase that comes to mind when I think of the school and their program is that they «lead with love.» My daughter is so loved here, all the teachers, and staff, love and care for the kids deeply. I have schools to compare to, as she has attended a local Montessori when we were in the country for blocks of time, but switched her to a play base at Learning Tree, and have never been happier. I have recommended this school to neighbors, and friends, who are all now enrolling their children. And I recommend it to you…

My family has loved our time at Learning Tree Preschool. Both of our daughters went for several years and we never even thought about sending them anywhere else. The teachers are warm and caring, the outside play area is huge with a lot of different things to do, and you can just tell the kids are always having a great time. It’s a nice blend of structured and relaxed. They learn a lot too — I’m always impressed with the amount of interesting things they cover. Plus, the setting is beautiful — how many daycares have ocean views?

My son loves going to school, and that’s what matters most to me. The teachers and staff are very helpful and friendly, and I feel like my son is cared for well when he stays for aftercare. The school is not fancy, but that’s part of the charm. There is a large and productive garden the children help with, several play structures for them to explore, and plenty of indoor space for learning too. I highly recommend this school for the reasons above, and the price is very reasonable, which is a bonus!

This preschool is amazing! We are so happy to have found it through a friend whose son goes here. His son and our son are friends and we wanted ours to have a buddy in a new place, and while that was the original reason for enrolling him here, it turned out to be a perfect school for him. He has learned so much in pre-​K that we are confident that he will be ready to succeed when he starts kindergarten next month.
When I pick him up he has a smile on his face, and when I ask him how his day was it’s always been good. He tells me about what he made for art, and what he has learned. His teachers have encouraged him in his skills and favorite areas, and kindly helped him with any challenges. He’s even learned some new songs that he likes to share with us. It is a perfectly balanced combination of education, creativity, activity, and fun!
What has really worked for us is that three days a week didn’t have to be M-​W-​F, but we could do T-​Th-​F instead, and then even added Wednesday after a few months of him falling in love with it, with the only basic requirement being to stay consistent.
I highly recommend The Learning Tree. Your children will be safe and comfortable in clean and organized classrooms, learn a whole lot from great teachers, make good friends, and you will be pleased parents! We sure have been, and will definitely stop by to say hi to the director and teachers who have taken such good care of our son.

I can’t say enough great things about this school. My favorite part of sending my son to school is picking him up and seeing his huge happy smile. Most days my son doesn’t even want to leave and asks to stay a little longer to continue playing with his friends. My son looves it here and so do I. He loves his school buddies and has become very attached to his teachers. I love that my kids get fresh ocean air being 4 blocks from the beach. I love how flexible and understanding the teachers and director Lisa are with parent schedules as well as our children adjusting to parent separation.
My son had a difficult time when we moved a year ago to San Diego. The school not only allowed me to sit with him during class but suggested it to help him with the transition. Throughout the year I have watched my little guy become so confident, independent and respectful. The teachers are always so attentive and are great at redirecting bad behavior. I have asked for their advice many times on certain issues like potty training or disciplining at home and they have been incredibly helpful. We are so lucky to have found this school for my son.

This preschool is great! The teachers are so friendly and loving. The rooms are very clean and well kept along with the books and toys. Very warm and loving atmosphere

the preschool looks so cute and «natural». great outdoor space with old growth landscaping a plus. grass etc. fun playground. looks like all the kids have fun here.

I would give this preschool 5 stars for it’s fabulous teachers and assistants! They are awesome!
Unfortunately, the owner doesn’t seem to want to make some necessary repairs, such as a leaky roof in the two year old room. Nor does he seem to want to make some necessary upgrades such as putting screens on the windows.
