Wow! Where do I even start?! Jen and Shane are not only amazing people but such talented photographers! The second I came across their website, I instantly fell in LOVE with their style of photography. Their work is so pure and magical. The way they work with natural light is absolutely stunning. Within the first 5 minutes after meeting them, we knew we couldn’t go with anyone else. It was as if we had known them for years! They were so great when it came to refining a wedding package that worked for us.
During our engagement shoot, Jen made us feel so comfortable! She really took the time to make sure she got the perfect shot. We were so incredibly happy with how all the photos turned out! If you are going to trust anyone to perfectly capture your wedding day, trust Jen & Shane! We worked with them to do our engagement photos, a sexy vixen shoot, and to be with us on our wedding day in July! You don’t realize that you spend more time with your photographers on your big day than you do with most of your guests, but trust me, you’ll want to spend it with Jen & Shane! They are so much fun to be around and they use their own romance to inspire your wedding pictures.
We didn’t have any specific poses that we wanted… all we told them was that we wanted our pictures to be bright, vibrant, and most of all, fun — and they captured our vision perfectly! Within seconds of meeting them, you feel totally comfortable & they really know how to make you look good and let your personalities shine in front of the camera. At our engagement shoot, we had the crazy idea to pop champagne in the middle of downtown, and Jen captured the moment so perfectly, that one of our favorite pictures came out of it!
Your wedding is the best day of your life, and you want a photographer who is not only going to capture all of your favorite memories, but also all the fun moments you didn’t see. Jen and Shane make magic. They shot our engagement shoot, and we decided to bring them to Miami for our wedding! How could we possibly choose another photographer after the unbeatable images we had in our guestbook?!
On top of being awesome, super fun people (you spend more time with the photographer at your wedding than most of your guests!) they magically get everyone in the photo (while also looking their best), they style the shot, and make you feel like you were born to model. Plus, they give you SO many pictures! I love how I had a ton of options if I didn’t like the way I looked or something wasn’t working for our save-​the-​date cards. Don’t skimp on ordering a wedding book either. They have great options and more beautiful books than I’ve found anywhere else.
Basically, everything is EASY and fun with them! If you have a vision, they totally know how to bring it to life and showcase your personality. Their contract is the easiest vendor contract you’ll do. Jen & Shane are passionate and it truly reflects in their work. One of the reasons I found them is how bright, happy and crisp their pictures look! It’s exactly the way my dreamy bride brain remembers the day, and the kind of pictures I want to hang on my walls. They captured every special detail/​guest/​moment of our best day ever and words cannot describe how happy I am with our wedding photos!

We worked with Jen and Shane for our engagement photos as well as our wedding. We really couldn’t ask for anything more out of photographers, they were incredible in so many ways! First, we aren’t the most comfortable/​experienced in front of the camera, but they were super patient and just kept coaching us so that by the end, we look like naturals and my husband (who is extra awkward about the camera) has photos that look like they are straight out of GQ! Props to Shane for making that happen, I love those photos! ;)
During the wedding, they were very supportive and also were a huge help in making sure we didn’t miss any important moments/​people to photograph.
Maybe most impressively, less than 3 weeks after our wedding, we were sent a link with 1073 edited photos that were all the most amazing photos I’ve ever seen! They captured beauty, emotion, and overall gave off the exact vibe we were going for with our wedding! We are really struggling with how to not have an album with 1073 photos because they all deserve to be on display.
I can’t wait to work with Jen and Shane again for family photos in the coming years!

I like Jen so much, she is a very nice and beautiful lady!!! she took photos for my engagement and rock the dress section. the pics looks sooooo amazing/​beautiful/​pretty/​wonderful. LOL. All my friends and families liked those photos when we display the slide show in our wedding ceremony. I recommend her to everyone. Also, I want to tell everyone, the price is very reasonable. Wow where do I begin?! Jen and Shane were amazing at our engagement shoot and wedding. We got our engagement shoot photos back and we honestly thought our photos could be put in a bridal magazine. All my family members said our engagement photos were the most beautiful photos they had ever seen. The best part is Shane and Jen are so fun to work with. They are such a sweet couple! Face it, not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera. Sometimes having your picture taken and all of the attention focused on you can be a bit awkward. But not with these two! Jen and Shane photographed our wedding, and I am looking back at our photos a year later, and just now getting to post this. They are amazing and breathtaking, and I am so happy about them. Not only are our photos exactly what we wanted, Jen and Shane are just two of the most wonderful people. From our engagement session with Jen, and her happy go lucky spirit, to our day of the wedding with Jen and Shane so seamlessly getting every shot pre-​wedding, during and after. Working with Acqua Photo was an absolute amazing experience!
Prior to booking our engagement session, I had been obsessing over the work they had done for a dear friend of mine’s engagement and wedding. I was instantly drawn to their way of telling beautiful stories through photography, capturing the most special moments through composition, color and light.
Prior to the shoot, Jen with Acqua Photo was so friendly and collaborative on the phone and via email, working with us to come up with a list of the perfect props and dreamy locations that inspired our colorful e-​sesh in La Jolla, California. She even took the time to put together a one-​of-​a-​kind inspirational board on Pinterest, just for us!
When the day of the shoot came, Jen was such gem! She was timely, friendly and super enthusiastic. We instantly connected with her, which made it easy for us to be our goofy selves, laughing and smiling our way through the day. We ended up incorporating three locations with outfit changes all around La Jolla and time just breezed by because we were having so much fun with Jen. When the last picture was taken, we didn’t even need to see the final photos yet to know she had accurately captured our love story.
The day after, we got our first sneak peek and we were blown away! Within two weeks, we received the rest of the pictures and were overjoyed with the results. There was so much variety and detail, and the way the final pictures were delivered to us made it easy to share with our family and friends across the country.
Needless to say, I would recommend Acqua Photo to anyone looking to book a photographer for anything. You will not be disappointed!

Our experiences with Jen and Shane have been absolutely amazing. We first saw them in action at a friend’s wedding and were so impressed by their professionalism, friendliness and awesome attitudes. When we saw their pictures, we were completely sold and decided to do our engagement shoot with them. These came out even better than expected, so when it came time for our wedding in India, we asked if they would be up for it and were so happy when they said they would love to do it. Through our week there, Jen and Shane were both so accommodating and worked around our very fickle schedules. They took pictures that captured not just the events, but so much emotion — they were above and beyond what we were hoping for. They were also just so easy to work with and fun to be around. We would recommend them to anyone without any hesitation!

Shane & Jen were an amazing duo to work with! Knowledgeable, likeable, sociable… basically all of the «ables» you can think of! From our first meeting for coffee, their unique style and love for each other left us with no choice but to say yes! Not only did we find their photographic style to be exactly what we wanted; we found that we just clicked (no pun intended!) They just seem to have an effortless magic that allows them to float seamlessly from person to person, situation to situation, and pose to pose. While they may not actually have any mystical powers, what they do have is great connection, passion for their work and a desire to capture the true spirit of an event. One of our main fears was that our wedding photos would turn out to be chock full of forced smiles and unnatural poses. But with Shane & Jen leading us, (and it being the happiest day of our lives – duh!) we found it easy and fun! We had such a blast with our wedding party that we knew the photos would be great. And for our couples photos, having a couple to demonstrate what would look beautiful and natural was priceless.

I knew I liked Acqua Photo as early as my first conversation with Jen. She made planning the photography for my wedding super easy and exciting. Upon meeting her and Shane the day of my wedding, I was taken aback by how cute of a couple they are and how well they work together. I felt zero pressure or rush to get photos done, yet they got every shot I wanted, and more! They picked the most beautiful areas to shoot on the property and coached us on ways to get the more natural shots I wanted. Because they photograph together, you receive photos of the same setting but from different perspectives and distances. I found this to be very cool when going through our photos– there were so many beautiful and unique ones to choose from! I also appreciate how they traveled from Carlsbad to Palm Springs for my wedding. To sum it up: Jen and Shane are personable, easy-​going, professional and great at what they do. I cannot end this review without noting how incredible their pricing is!!! You can’t find anybody who delivers this level of quality for the price.

When we started planning our small wedding of 22 guests, we decided that our most important vendor was the photographer. After all, the photos are the only thing you have left after the wedding to remember it by. We knew we wanted to find a photographer that was creative, had that editorial style, and an easy-​going personality to mesh with our small guest list. We did a lot of local photographer research online and by using local wedding magazines and narrowed it down to our 3 favorite photographers to interview in person.
Jen and Shane were the first we met with and we knew right away that they were it. We instantly connected with the bubbly couple and felt at ease talking about how we met, what our wedding plans were, and what our style is. We felt like they really took the time to listen to what we were looking for and to get to know us personally. Jen and Shane were very professional, organized, straight forward, and personable… all things I highly valued in a wedding vendor.
Jen shot our engagement photos on my parent’s ranch. She found beautiful spaces to shoot in that I never would have noticed. She also made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and posed us in natural poses. The results were beautiful!
A few months later, Jen and Shane shot our intimate church wedding in La Jolla. We did a first look with them and I’m so glad we did! It helped us get the initial pre-​wedding jitters out of the way and they captured some stunning shots. During the church ceremony, they were very respectful of the church’s rules against flash photography and distance to the front of the church. We never noticed they were there and they took a lot of beautiful photos that really captured the moment. We were able to go to a couple other locations nearby between the ceremony and the reception to have some cool changes of scenery, where they were able to capture even more amazing photos.
Our wedding photos were sent to us only 3 weeks after our wedding and I totally cried when I saw how beautiful they turned out. Jen and Shane totally nailed it. They were artsy, original, had that editorial style we were looking for, and were simply stunning. We’ve received countless complements on our wedding photos. I would recommend Acqua Photo to everyone I know looking for an all-​around amazing photographer. I cannot say enough good things about them because they are such wonderful people, extremely talented, and deserve all of the good business they can handle :).

Jen and Shane are not only amazing photographers, but also an amazing couple!
They really made our wedding day by being super fun, funny, and relaxed throughout the whole thing. We especially loved having two photographers so that Jen could start out with the girls at the beach house where we were getting ready, and Shane could hang out with the boys at the Hard Rock.
(Side Note: To anyone staying at the Hard Rock they have a lot of awesome backdrops for photos)
We didn’t really have a traditional shot list in mind, so we appreciated their creativity in helping us come up with some really fun shots on the fly. The original reason we had picked these two was their ability to play off of natural light. A lot of people like their photos overly saturated and kind of serious/​intense, but we prefer the natural/​bright look to wedding photos, and if you look at their gallery these guys nail that!
Well sadly, we ended up with rain on our wedding day, but I know that they were able to work with the light we had and that the photos will be amazing.

Jen and Shane are a truly amazing couple and as individuals, each incredible photographers. Just take a glance through any of their photos and you can see that their work speaks for itself! We had the pleasure of Jen and Shane capturing our special day and needless to say it went without a hitch. They were professionals, on time, and stuck to our planner’s timeline, which in turn helped the whole wedding run on time and on schedule! They captured every moment and made us feel comfortable and at ease. Our whole experience with Jen and Shane from the initial contact and meet to the engagement session and wedding seemed enjoyable, effortless and seamless. Just took our engagement photos with Shane, the pictures are amazing. My fiancé hates taking pictures and Shane made it so comfortable like he wasn’t there. We had so much fun taking the photos and they captured us so well. Now I can’t wait for our wedding! I rec Shane and Jen to everyone the results are perfect!!!

Jen & Shane have been our go to photographers for over 5 years. We’ve done everything from large extended family photo shoots, to business portraits, to maternity and newborn photos. We LOVE working with them. They always make us feel so comfortable and relaxed in a situation that could easily be stressful. I love how Jen really takes care to make sure we are positioned just right to look our best. She is never afraid to jump in and show us new posses to strike. She really makes it fun. And if we ever need styling advice she is great about sending inspiration photos or suggestions.
Once we had our little ones we were even MORE impressed with what they can do. Shane is the newborn positioning master. He got our newborn all comfy and curled up without her making a peep. And now family photo shoots with two little ones can be a little crazy but they are both so comfortable with the kids, they always know how to get them to give the camera some love.
I’m in the wedding industry and I always recommend them to my brides. My best friend just used them for her wedding last September and it was so fun to have them there! Everyone in the wedding party loved them and her photos are INCREDIBLE.

There are many good wedding photographers who will be able to capture the moments of your wedding and provide you with good photographs but if you are looking for amazing photographs that capture light, nature, and those unique moments shared between two people, then Jen & Shane of Acqua should be your first choice.
I was referred to Acqua by a colleague after seeing her gorgeous family portraits. I spoke with Jen prior to our engagement shoot to discuss me and my fiancé’s personalities and taste, wedding ideas, colors, etc. My fiancé wanted pictures at the beach while I wanted a background with greenery. Jen suggested several locations to meet both of our needs and sent me pictures she had taken that would fit our parameters to help narrow down the choices. We decided on downtown San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente Beach.
Jen has an amazing eye for picking out unique and creative locations, suggesting natural poses and capturing color and light. She found a small orchard and was able to really highlight the contrasting colors of the greenery, orange trees, and our colorful outfits. At a nearby park she framed shots so that it looked like we were in a sprawling field and she expertly used the sunlight to give each shot a distinctive quality.
What I loved most about our pictures was the way Jen was able to capture clouds and colors in the sky, ripples in the waves, and light behind the trees. She has a talent for capturing moments in nature that feel timeless and intimate at the same time.
Jen was fantastic to work with, she had a great attitude and her enthusiasm was totally contagious and made us feel comfortable as neither my fiancé nor I are used to being the focal point of a photo shoot. I can’t wait for the wedding and our photographs to see how Jen and Shane capture the memories of the day.
