Business Owner

A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, where his father was a practicing orthodontist, Dr. Hurst attended Brigham Young University, earning a B.S. in zoology. He then attended dental school at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with honors and numerous clinical awards.

Following dental school, Dr. Hurst entered the graduate program in orthodontics at Loma Linda University, also earning honors. Dr. Hurst has been around orthodontics all of his life, and he can’t think of anything he would rather do. He enjoys working with each patient to create a beautiful smile, and watching the positive effects of their new found confidence. His office is built on the philosophy to treat his patients as he would like to be treated.

I was very nervous to get braces at 17, but Dr. Hurst was so kind and told me all the pros and cons of having braces at an older age and put my mind at ease. I got them off at 19 and have been complimented on my smile ever since. :) I’m 21 now and I miss going in for regular check ups. Fortunately, I still get to go in for a retainer inspection a few times a year. The entire team is so kind and genuine. They always care about my teeth and my life equally, and that kind of care is hard to come by. I would recommend them to anyone interested in orthodontic work. They will take care of you with minimal pain and maximum love! :)

Our family was vacationing in Carlsbad when my 14-year old daughter’s wire on her braces broke. We called Dr. Hurst Orthodontics and we were able to get in that same day. He and his staff were courteous, helpful, professional and did an excellent job of repairing the wire. My daughter said everyone there was very nice to her. I’m dating myself here, but I was a patient of Dr. Sundquist back when I was a teenager. I received lots of dental work here, including head gear to adjust my jaw and braces. Dr. Hurst took over the practice during that time and I was immediately taken with his enthusiasm and friendliness. He always had a smile on his face and never missed a day of work. He made coming to the office a fun and enjoyable time, which is hard to do when you’re a moody teenager having to wear braces. I highly recommend choosing Dr. Hurst as your orthodontist, should you need one.

Dr. Hurst is a miracle worker. My son had to go through 2 phases and each phase was pretty painless and the end result is first rate. His staff is friendly and accommodating to a working mom, always able to get us in at the end of the day. We are very grateful to Dr. Hurst and staff.
