History

EnerPlex represents the consumer side of Ascent Solar, using transformational thin-​film CIGS technology into products which consumers use every day. Using this technology allows consumers to have rugged, portable and lightweight solar power no matter their location.

The thin-​film solar panels are created through a unique process where CIGS (Copper, Indium, Gallium and Selenide) is deposited onto plastic instead of traditional glass. The plastic enables the solar panels to be incredibly flexible and durable as well as extremely powerful. Ascent Solar’s thin-​film solar panels have an industry leading conversion rate of 11.4% — the greatest power density and best power to weight ratio available in any solar form factor.
