Glen Ridge Apartments

Where do I start? Baby C and one other review that «wasn’t recommended» are spot on!!! There’s no better judge to this then myself. I’ve been here since these apartments were built. Get ready, this is going to take a while to read. But it’s important you read all of it.
These apartments were a problem from the beginning. I can’t remember how many times we were left days without hot water and when they finally fixed it, it would come out yellow for at least a week!!! Maintenance and manager never gave a damn! It got worse throughout the years. Now the laundry, sidewalks, parking lot, playground, and everything else is ALWAYS dirty! ALWAYS!!! I honestly don’t know what maintenance does all day besides walk around on his phone, «hang out» in the office and flirt with girls. The older maintenance we had before worked harder than this «youngish» one we have now. Manager, ugh, every single one we’ve had is USELESS!!! They need to grow a pair and be tough with these tenants that are making this property the way it is! They’re too scared to confront people when you go to them with a problem. I mean you know what this job entitles, you can’t do it then quit! I’m sure it helps that they get a free 3 bedroom apartment and never actually have to «work.» This new manager is never here. NEVER!!! And when she is she’s there for about 2 to 3 hours then just walks across the parking lot home. Must be freaking nice!!! What the hell is this company thinking?! Seriously!!!
Oh, and parking!!! Any later than 7 or 8 pm and you better grab a pillow and blanket ’cause you’re sleeping in your car so it doesn’t get towed when you double park or park on the fire lane. Shit, even the fire lane is taken. I’ve seen a few people sleep in their car because they’re double parked and if I check my mail box at night I’ll get stalked and asked «are you leaving?» There are cars here growing weeds, spider webs and who knows what else. Yes, they’re still there. Then you have those people that own a whole damn garage and take up every space. Who needs 5 cars?! Better question, why are you in a low income apartment if you can pay for 5 cars?! Man I’m getting upset just writing all this!
Laundry, 4 washers, 4 dryers. One is always not working. People leave clothes there for weeks! Stinks up whole laundry room. Can’t wash cause that’s just fucken nasty. Again, uh, where are you maintenance dude. Do your job!!!
Marijuana cloud, EVERY day, ALL day, EVERYWHERE! I’m thinking it’s a requirement to smoke that shit just to move in. Yo mofos who smoke that shit all the time, not all of us have to get high cause «I want munchies», «let’s party nigga», «fuck yeah homie», or because we’re depressed and we need to forget about our problems, act stupid, and eat a whole bakery for a few hours! Bunch of idiots!!! Apparently this is where «the connect» is ’cause I’ve seen plenty of drug deals here. Manager has been made aware. Nothing gets done.
Walls are thin as fuck ’cause my neighbors downstairs and upstairs do the deed every other damn day. I now own the most expensive headphones that block out as much noise as possible. And apparently there’s a herd of buffalo’s living above me.
No AC, no heat, no kidding. Melting during summer especially since you can’t open a window without getting high off the green fumes. Freezing during winter because these window panels suck and the chill comes in.
Bottom line, low income means you can’t afford market rate and it doesn’t give this company the right to treat us like animals!!! Some of use are actually hard working people that can’t afford regular rent and don’t moosh of the government (like 85% of people here). Which is why I’m still here. A single mother of 4 can’t afford a $ 2000 plus a month rent. Waiting lists for low income apartments are years long. And btw, I’m surprised they don’t ask for a butt cheek print and how many sexual partners you’ve had when you first move in because they pretty much asked for everything else.
If you’re in need of a low income place, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. I mean unless you want to get high without knowing, wash your clothes in filth, sleep in your car, like the word «nigga», get looked down on by the surrounding neighbors with million dollar houses and hear porn all day. If that’s the case Glen Ridge welcomes you.
Oh yeah, the 2 stars is just because you can’t find an apartment in this kind of neighborhood, with good schools, and 10 minutes from the beach for the price I pay.

I’m not bitter, those situations with management really happened. And I just think you’re full of shit with your review. Those hooligan children, really are a band of future gang bangers. They have no discipline and are just so destructive, you can’t be so stupid to ignore that. So screw what you said, you’re full of shit. And anyone reading this. .stay clear is this place! Take my warning seriously!
