I honestly can’t believe how poor the customer service is at this location. I called the store to confirm a suit (ordered and paid for!) was indeed at the store. The person I spoke to was very rude and made it sound like I was wasting his time once he finally was able to comprehend my question (after repeating several times). My girlfriend and I showed up 20 minutes after this call. We had just finished surfing so I admit in my boardshorts I probably looked like I was in the wrong store, but the employee (same person who I talked to on the phone!) looked both of us up and down in such a disrespectful manner my girlfriend actually said «is there a problem?» The employee seemed surprised she called him out about his disrespectful stares, and quickly walked off to find my suit. I thought «ok whatever let’s just get this done» and tried on the suit. I asked some basic questions about fit («Is this too baggy, does the jacket need to be tailored? How high should the pants be?) and the guy had no clue. He mumbled «looks fine» a few times and literally ignored two or three of my questions. I was more confused than when I came in. The customer service at Walmart is better than this place.

Top Notch Service. I need a suit for my son by the next evening. The staff was helpful, professional and courteous. They helped us find the prefect suit within our budget and even though they were booked over a week out to tailor the suit, the on site tailor was impressed that it was for an important appointment for my 17 year old sons business and wanted to be sure he looked his best. The tailor stayed late and we were able to pick up the suit the next afternoon. The suit looked great and it helped my son make a positive impression on his clients. We will definately go back when my other three boys need suits!

I had previously written a much longer, more detailed review, but I think it’s now time to revise that review. This is the short, vague version. Basically, I picked Jos A Bank in Carlsbad for my groomsmen suits. In short, it was the worst decision we made in all of our wedding planning. The customer service was absolutely terrible. It was beyond frustrating at times. I won’t step foot in that store again because my blood pressure spikes just thinking about that place. The price was relatively good, and the product was average. Alterations were questionable.
If you’re looking for a suit for your groomsmen I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. It’ll save you lots of time and hassle.

So i stopped into Tilly’s looking for a «leather» belt that would fit my budget and upon realizing that this belt would tear within a few weeks of work-​wear I decided to stop by Jos. A Bank around the corner. Knowing their belts were above the average price because the quality is UN-​matchable I stopped by to see what they had. Bobby was extremely helpful in finding me the proper belt that I could use at an affordable price. I will most definitely be a returning customer due to the professionalism delivered by Bobby himself and finding me a belt that will last me 3 solid years without wear and tear. If you want a belt that’ll last you 3 months, shop else-​where, if you want one that will stay intact no matter what your job is, this is the place to go. Thanks again! :)

We didn’t have an appointment and walked in at 1130 on a Sunday. Carina and another gal were very helpful and knowledgable in helping us to decide on tuxes for our upcoming wedding. They both were very patient in our back and forth decisions and gave good suggestions and were very honest in their opinions. I liked that and didn’t feel the sales pressure. Ordering 8 tuxes was an easy process with a simple $ 40 down payment. I also had a coupon giving me $ 40 off each rental & B5G1free so they are comparable to Mens Wearhouse but with better selections! We selected the slate grey Vera Wang Tuxes that will look stunning against the blush pink bridesmaids dresses. Our groomsmen all over the country now have way access to a location near them to order! Thanks for all your help Carina! One more thing checked off our checklist thanks to you and the staff!

Went in for 3 suits, flat black, striped navy, and tan. They were ¹⁄₃.
Flat black suit was great, tailored it at my regular spot and had no problems.
Striped navy suit was ordered incorrectly (to the best of my knowledge) and turned out to be striped black. My mistake turned out to be trusting the staff here, and only slightly glancing at the suit to check if it was the right one. Being slightly dark in the store, I figured that it was my navy suit and moved on. As much as I tried, I cannot return it. Bye bye $$$.
Had the tan suit tailored on site by a quiet woman in the back. SHOULDN’T HAVE! She straight ruined the tan coat, and then proceeded to speak to me like a 5 year old trying to convince his teacher that Pluto is a planet. «I didn’t do this, I didn’t do that, that’s how you bought it, we can’t change it now, etc…» The only thing I didn’t know was that I should have never walked into this absolute joke of a store. There went another $ 650 down the drain.
I would give this place 0 stars if it was possible. Absolute worst experience I have ever had in ANY store! Unbelievable to me how idiotic people can be at such trivial jobs. That being said, I have definitely learned my lesson to never come back here as well as tell anyone willing to listen to steer wayyyy clear.
Tl;dr version: If this was the last clothing store on earth, get used to being naked.

We received a three-​for-​one coupon in the mail thanks to a prior purchase. My son needed dress pants for graduation, so we decided to take advantage. While i thought I was doing the money-​saving thing, I learned a very valuable lesson. While we did get two pairs of pants for the price of one, they absolutely killed us with outrageous tailoring costs. Then they inform us it will take at least two weeks to get the pants! (Thank goodness I planned far enough ahead.) Next time – if there is a next time – I will gladly use my coupon and then run to the local tailor, which I’m sure is much less expensive and far faster in service.

Had my wedding in October of 2014 and we wanted navy suits for the groomsmen.
Someone had told us that Jos A Banks has a selection of suits for rental and that we would snag a deal if we came in with 10 guys.
When we had got in we were told the suits would have a modern slim fit and the way the rep made it sound gave us the confidence that he knew exactly what we wanted and was going to deliver.
Come time to pick up the suits we show up and the groomsmen try the suits on at the establishment. They come out and they all look like they are wearing parachute pants from an MC hammer video.
When i asked if we had received the wrong pants they told me that this is how the pants in the slim fit category looks like and that this isn’t H&M…
It was too late for us to pull anything different and now my wedding photos are filled with guys who look like they are ready to be in a «cant touch this» music video.
I issued a complaint and received a phone call from the DM with an apology and that he was going on vacation. Thought a resolution was going to be in the works but that didn’t happen either.
Lesson learned here: If you dig an MC hammer wedding and want your groomsmen to be decked out in the most expensive parachute pants, then this is your place.

Probably the worst clothing experience I have ever had. Went in with specific sku numbers for a suit that is a uniform for my company. They kept saying they didn’t have that and showed me stuff that was «close enough» I called another store and they had to talk the reps at this store through it and surprise surprise there it was hanging on the rack. The alterations were specific as well and they had absolutely no clue how/​what they were doing. Would not go back to this store if it was the last clothing store on earth.

Best customer service I have ever had. Kat has been amazing ever since the first time I spoke to her to schedule our appointment. She was so informative, answered all my questions, and went above and beyond when it came to helping us get the best deal possible.
Coming into our appointment we were not sure what we were looking for. Kat is an expert! She helped us decide on the colors and style and I am so excited to move forward with our rentals.

Awful service for the second time. I’ve been here twice and the first time no one helped me at all. The second time it was 15 minutes before anyone asked if I needed help and still they didn’t have time for me. Men’s Warehouse across the street was much more helpful and less snooty. I’d recommend going there or anywhere else.

My husband usually buys Canali shirts from Nordstrom that cost $ 200 each. He needed to find something quick one day so he stopped in here. They were very helpful and shockingly, these are now his favorite shirts! We went today and it was 2/​$ 99! They don’t wrinkle when he wears them and they are comfortable. We always get awesome customer service here (even when we bring in my feisty 7 month old!).

I went to buy a white dinner jacket from the store in Carlsbad. I had called ahead to make sure they had my size in stock. I got there, and was helped with my jacket. As the tailor lady was taking measurements, I noticed a small yellow stain (white jacket/​yellow stain), I asked the salesman if he had another jacket on hand, and this is what he said in a sarcastic tone «that yellow stain that I can’t even see?» Mr. salesman, I don’t really care if you can see it from 10 feet away, I can see it from here, and I’m buying a new item that should not have any stains. To his credit, he promised me that when I come to pick up the jacket, it will be dry cleaned and pressed, ready and perfect, ready to put on.
I go back to pick up the jacket. I walk in, three sales people standing around chatting, no one is eager to help, even though they see me. I pick one (the persian with big hair) and I ask him for my jacket, he looks at me as if I annoyed him with my request, it takes him an year to find my jacket, he never stuck around to make sure it’s ok. I had to ask another uninterested sales guy to call the tailor lady. After I was done, I looked for the garment bag that the jacket came with, I find it and start putting the jacket in it, the persian sales guy walks by, yes walks by, and says «yeah, you’re going to need to put that in there» How about you do it for me Mr. customer service man, you did not stick around to help, the least you can do is help with this.
Guess what, remember the «PROMISE» the sarcastic sales guy made me to have the jacket dry cleaned and pressed, to be ready and perfect to put on? I remember, but he forgot, I had to have the jacket steam pressed, because it was mangled and wrinkled. Remember the satin I complained about and he mocked me for, but promised to clean? I remember exactly where the satin is, because it’s still there.
I took the jacket and walked out, not one even looked at me to say thanks, did I swipe few extra shirts and hid them in the bag and no one knew? No, I did not, but I’m making a point that these people are not present.
What lousy customer service at that location.
So I called the customer service line to complain, the lady on the line took my storey, and said that she will send it to the area manager. I never heard back from them. NOTHING, not even an acknowledgement.
I will wait for them to take my jacket to be cleaned as promised.
Before you go to this location, think about The Men’s Warehouse, the service is better, they remember you and bend backwards to help.
let’s see if they care to make it up, at least clean the jacket and they promised.

Lack of sevice and respect.
I’ve been interested in this store for awhile since I would love a place to purchase clothes for my work. I had found out that as an employee of the company I work for, I get a discount. I was very excited to go in and shop but it was horrible. As a past experience salesman in clothing and currently in the field of customer service, I felt very disappointed of the workers there. When I walked inside, no greet, even after I initiated eye contact. When I browsed around, the workers continued to chat with each other with no offer of assistance. I really felt offended and a bit of thought of prejudice because I got a couple of quick looks like I don’t belong there.
To make sure I was not losing my mind, I came in another day with my girl and still the same. She got pissed and made me leave even though I wanted to give more time for them to help.
I really think something needs to be done there. Training on customer service, manners, and straight up some common sense. Bottom line, you lost my business to someone coming in with open wallet to spend. I’m assuming the company I work for may have some kind of partnership with the company in order to receive this discount. I’ll sure to bring this up to the right people inside and hopefully review the relationship with this company.

Spent an hour at Jos A Bank at The Forums in Carlsbad. Najeet helped me out and it was a great experience. I needed a tux for an upcoming wedding. Najeet helped me through the process of fitting and buying tux, vest, bowtie, shirt and shoes. Najeet fitted the tux perfectly and gave welcomed advice and handled the discount correctly. Recommend highly. Ask for Najeet for a terrific customer experience. BP

Most of this review is not about this particular store but corporate and quality. The person who helped us was helpful and friendly and understood our wants.
That being said:
You would think a little over 4 weeks would be long enough to get a suit.
Well it should be but it’s risky and unsatisfactory based upon my experience.
«Buy one get two more free» means that the suits quality is one third what you are paying for based on my experience.
I went in with my daughter after looking at suits online at the website.
How can they sell a $ 650 suit for $ 215 you ask?
Now I know. They pay $ 50 for it and add 300% to the cost.
We went in on ⁹⁄₁₁ and they didn’t have anything in store over a size 50 in store. My chest is 56. We asked the first salesman t show us the materials choices for the suit we had picked out online. He didn’t have a clue. None of the choices he showed us were representative of the suit we were buying.
Since my chest dictated my not being able to try the suit on in the store we ordered it from the catalog. 10 days later I am informed that it will not be available for 3 months. ⁹⁄₂₀ (first week in December)
So, the next morning I make another (extra) trip to the store to pick out a different material and order it. ⁹⁄₂₁
The reordered suit comes ⁹⁄₂₈ (2 ½ weeks after our first trip to the store.) I try the suit on for alterations and they are going to alter the sleeve length and the pants length but there is also a strange wrinkle of extra material in the back about 4 inches below the collar line. I ask what that’s about and the salesman who is standing in for the tailor tells me that if you stoop over it will disappear. WTF? So that wrinkle (let’s call it a DEFECT) is going to cost $ 16 to remove.
They tell me they can have it 2 days before the wedding unless I pay extra, then, I can have it in a week.
So I pay for the suit after having emailing Corporate that I think that stoop wrinkle was a defect but there was no time to get a suit any other place. I picked it up and bought a tie on 10 – 4.
Now I take the suit out of its plastic ¹⁰⁄₁₂ and notice the sleeves are all puffy and wrinkled where they meet the body of the suit in the front. The wedding is tomorrow.
I guess that’s all I could expect from a $ 50 suit I paid $ 254 for. Gee, I could have got 2 more free. Yeah, Right.
100% satisfaction guarantee? NO I DON’T THINK SO!

I just wanted to share that I made my first visit to a Jos A Banks store yesterday. I went into the Carlsbad Store and wanted to state that the quality of merchandise has a wide variety from the very affordable to the nicer stuff. The lady that helped me (Cindy) was outstanding.
She took the time to LISTEN to what it was that I wanted to accomplish, she worked hard to show me several options and pricing deals, and she genuinely cared about seeing me get value. I also complimented her on not trying to «add on» crap that I didn’t want like a tie, or shoes or socks in the manner that they do at Men’s Wearhouse
. I will definitely go back because the selection was great, the pricing was fair, and because of Cindy and her sales approach! I feel like I received a value that was commensurate to what I spent and got some really high quality stuff!

Love, love, love, this store and its sales staff!!! This was my first time visiting this store and I well without a doubt be back soon.
Normally I prefer my clothes to be more of the tailor fit like the clothes at theory but at the prices for the items here it would be easy to pay to get them tailored and look great without spending the high price like the tailored fitting items at other stores.
Now due to my freakishly long arms (I’m 6’3 but my wing span is 6’8. Yea it sucks) The sales woman that assisted me showed me how in the 42 long (which surprisingly was still to short in the arms) could be let out a little in the sleeves to make the length perfect for me and my Kevin Durant arms, (Long and skinny). The had this beautiful hounds tooth blazer as well as this great camel hair tan colored sport coat as well. Both were a great price but not in my size. This is where the story gets better!!! She shows me that they can order these items from different stores so if I want it I can get it without having to look all around San Diego for it.
All in all, great clothes, super clean and organized store and great knowledgeable staff.
Also, they have a great assortment of colored cashmere sweaters. Great price and fit.

I’m a sucker for men in suits…
One story establishment where it’s easy to find stuff. Thanksgiving night we were crazy enough to shop as they were having an awesome promo from 10pm-​2am. I was thrilled when there were less than 20 people in the store the whole duration we were there.
Suits here are pricey ranging from $ 800-​$ 1200, maybe even more. Shirts regular price are close to $ 100, and ties are approximately $ 90.
As he was buying several shirts and ties, he asked the employee when they were going to have their sales on suits. (Promos are usually buy 1 suit, get 2 free.) The employee responded, «Sure I’ll hook you up! In fact, if you buy a suit, I’ll give you 3 free.»
So off he went to find and try more goodies like a kid in a candy store…
2 hours and $ 1300 later, along with a sick girl sitting in the corner (O hai ME!), he made off with 4 slim fit suits, 4 executive dress shirts and 6 executive ties…
This place is BANK…
Note: They have several in house tailors for fittings.

Came here randomly and noticed this store. Perfect too since I’ve been trying to get a shirt and this place has a nice 20% off clearance section.
So whatever the reduced price is on the clearance section, they also give out an additional 20% off the price tag. So I got a nice long sleeved collared shirt for about 20 bucks after all the discounts.
Cool stuff, pretentious workers, but they do open up if they think you are serious about buying some stuff.
