MAC Cosmetics

Products are amazing obviously! But for some reason all the female employees are more interested in their personal group convos then to have at least one come and help me out with questions. As soon as 10 mins went by one finally came up to me and instantly her body language read «I’m prettier than you and you better buy something to not waste my time «I feel that their vibes always make us customers feel insecure
Like you only work there because you’re good at makeup but you ain’t no celebrity makeup artist
Nonetheless the worst service was from the Asian girl with the worst attitude I’ve ever experienced. Better to visit other stores, you won’t regret it.

I have been going to this Mac location for years and I am a very happy customer. Dominique is great, very nice she knows all the products and does a great job. She is so helpful and knows her stuff. If you go there ask for her she’s the best!!!

Ok so I went to this MAC store because it is the closest store to my house but Im so mad and Im never buying any more products there. I went there and I knew what I wanted to buy but the blush I wanted was out of stock so I asked for help and. a guy working there «helped» me. I tried two different blushes on and I was very vlear telling him which one I wanted I also got eyelashes there and the eyelashes glue, he told me the glue was 10 dlls for the big one and I was like ok Im gonna get it. I didnt see what was on my bag because of course I trusted him, he should have gave me what I asked for but no. He charged me for the most expensive blush that I didnt like at all but he sold me that one I guess for his comission, he put that in my bag he also sold me the small glue for 10 dlls and he gave me the wrong and ugliest eyelashes. It was all wrong, and again I didnt check the bag because I always get what I ask for in every store, but at this MAC store it seems to be different, seriously I am never buying anything else from them.

It was a very knowledgeable staff. I went in with my girlfriend and we were helped right away. Jen was awesome.

I went to Mac tonight around 7:30pm on my way out of the mall. I knew what I wanted, it was just a matter of grabbing the tester and taking it to the counter… If they are commission based it was a free sale to the employee but I guess they rather lose business…
I walked in and no one greeted me… That’s okay. I was looking for a Vino lip liner and still no one acknowledged me… Still fine. With the Lip liner in hand, I headed to the register to check out and I get stuck behind a lady taking forever (still no acknowledgement). As I wait in line I notice a girl in the lipgloss area trying on various products… When it looks like it’s my turn to check out the cashier leaves without saying a word to me, goes to check on the girl in the lipgloss area, and gets her a brush from the brush wall. She then proceeds to the cash register and tells the girl she will process her purchase at the register next to the one I’m still standing at as if I didn’t exist… AGAIN she still hasn’t said a word to me or even looked at me… Thats when it went from okay to completely UNACCEPTABLE, so I walked out.
I get she was the only employee but if she would have acknowledged me at least once. Maybe even said «oh I was assisting her before you walked in and it’ll be just one second» it would have been fine, but alas that is way too much to ask for from this store. I can choose to purchase online instead of coming into this particular store… But for what? Mac apparently doesn’t want my business… I get better customer service at CVS when I buy NYX.
Save your money and Skip this store, it’s on its way out. Urban Decay next door was much more accommodating.

Big fan of Mac lipstick only kind i ever wear! Everytime i come here i get greeted right away and the ladies are always very helpful. I like that they dont bug you like some of the make up stores do.

Now the 5 stars are strictly for Jamie. I have been to this location several times and every time i feel like the employees look at me like im dumb because I don’t have tons of make up on. However, Jamie is very outgoing, funny, and does amazing make up. The whole time she showed me how to do things myself, what we were doing step by step and also made me laugh. She took her time and made my make up look amazing to the point where people were telling me all night how beautiful it was. If you go to have a make over make sure to ask for her!!!

Went there tonight around 8:30 pm. I usually have amazing customer service there! I walked by looking around, and I’m usually helped right away, but I was left standing there while the gals were looking in the mirror at theirselves. I told the gal what I wanted (moisturizer), then told her that I was looking for a good under eye concealer. She then just picks one and says «oh this one MIGHT be ok» then walks away. She either hate her job and life, or she doesn’t know how to apply makeup. She had short hair to her jawline and was wearing a stupid fedora hat. I wish I got her name so I could call the manager. I was planning on spending a crazy amount of money there, she lost a good sale.

Rude rude rude employees !! Id rather shop online and spend my money there. I came in looking for a powder and all the employees were so rude, I couldn’t believe that these people looked so negative. Like put a smile on your face and do your job correctly! They walked around like they were better than everyone else. MAC should hire better employees, and managers obviously.
Never again buying anything here !!

The worst customer service they’ve ever had! I’ll just shop online now, or go out of my way to shop at the Forum location!

I love MAC cosmetics I’ve been a customer for years!
I will never return to this location I will be ordering online.
Who ever manages this places needs to give their employees an attitude adjustment and a reality check as in you work in the customer service industry so fake being nice because people don’t really care if you’re making your numbers.
I’m sorry just because you wear a mask of make up an work at Mac doesn’t mean you get to treat paying customers poorly.
I went in here looking for a foundation because I have dry skin the freckled face lady that helped me was like «yeah I can tell you have dry skin I see all your dry patches» ouch, and no sh$& why do you think I’m here looking for a new foundation? She was really rude and I was polite the whole time. I was really shocked on how rude she came off and fake ! Never coming back bye Felicia

This review is for MAC inside of Macy’s in Carlsbad. I have been wearing MAC cosmetics for a very long time, and going to this location for the same amount of time that I have wearing it!!! And I will say the customer service in this location USED to be amazing!!! Now, it sucks!!! I went in there last night to buy some makeup, they were busy yes, however this girl that had been in there less time than me someone helped her immediately!!! Nobody greeted me, nobody even acknowledged I was even there after 10 min!!! I walked up to the counter nobody could figure out how to help me!!! A girl was like with her arms can I help you? But then stood behind the register!!! Really??? I already know what I want it’s just a matter of someone trying to help me!!! Finally, a competent representative to the rescue, he was very nice, greeted me and asked how I could be helped told him what I was there for he got it rang it and done!!! Now had I been secret shopper this location would of failed miserably!!! This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience at this Mac location. Really, MAC I don’t have to spend my money on your makeup, I could wear other brands, that give me far better coverage, and not have to deal with the ego’s of the reps and crappy service!!! Never got crappy service from urban decay!!! If I continue to buy Mac it won’t be in the stores! Online!!! Won’t be back to this location!!! MAC you need to spend some time training your representatives on customer service!!! Only one rep in that location knows how to deliver and it’s a guy!!! Ladies, learn some customer service than u might get a phat commission!!!

I am not sure what to rate this store… I stood literally in front of two associates, clearly needing help but their conversation was more important than my desire to make a purchase. Why is it that MAC employees have this attitude like they are better than us «regular» make up wearing people? Hate to break it to you, you put blush on people in a mall. It’s your job… Not sure why you take pride in making your clients feel like we’re worthless.
The counter at Nordstrom is always much nicer and less snooty, which is surprising because Macy’s in Carlsbad is kinda gross you’d think they might be more down to earth.
None the less, Mac is one of my fav makeup so I continue to go back. Maybe next time I will have a different experience.

This is my to-​go-​to Mac location. I have also received help suggestions and services from Margarita, Dominique and manager Jessica. Even when the girls here get swamped, they always made sure they acknowledge your presence and get you the help you need asap.

After reading a few of the other reviews on this MAC location I feel a little better about giving my negative review seeing as how others had similar experiences. I’m a loyal MAC user for over ten years and have NEVER had such horrible customer service! This is my first time at this location. I walked in about 20 minutes after they had opened. The woman helping me was very short with me and acted like she was annoyed I was there. She didn’t say two words to me the entire time she pulled the products I asked for, then it came time to ring me up. The only thing she asked me was credit or debit. All of the sudden this other chola looking lady walks up to the counter and you would have thought the woman helping me just saw her long lost sister she was so warm and welcoming to this person! It was insane the way she treated me compared to this other lady! I in no way was a difficult customer I knew what I wanted, there was no reason I should have been given the silent treatment.
I guess if I would have walked in there with sharpied on eyebrows and dark brown lip liner I would have received better customer service seeing as how Every girl working there on this day looked like a Chula Vista chola! I will never go to this location again!

I went in hoping to exchange a wrong shade of concealer that I ordered online and I was greeted by Holly and she decided to demonstrate two different shades on my skin along with two different shades of foundation. I really appreciated the amount of time she took to help me choose the right shade. I felt confident in her opinions. she is very knowledgeable and courteous and is definitely an asset to the MAC cosmetics store inside the Macy’s department store, in Carlsbad, CA. Holly exchanged my wrong shade for the right one and informed me about their recycling program; which I had not heard of before. also she assisted me with the selection of a foundation brush which I had no idea of the science behind, and I am very pleased with it – number 188. thank you Holly and MAC cosmetics!

Love this MAC counter at Macys! They are all super knowledgeable, and really helpful. Chelsea did my makeup last time, it was absolutely pro skill. And she will take time to explain how to do the same look at home, and which products you need to help you achieve awesome model like makeup at home. I will definitely go back to her for my makeup needs!

I absolutely LOVE this place! Every time I come and visit I always request Jessica. She’s amazing at what she does and I always leave happy. I’ve had a few of the other girls that work there and have also had great experiences. Even if I don’t I buy anything they explain all the new products out and even upcoming ones. They are a very busy store, because they are great at what they do, so make sure to make an appointment.
