We hired Igor and his family/​crew to install travertine tile around a firepit, and all around our backyard pool and up the side of the house. They also installed stone on our front porch, walkways, and in a design on our driveway. The price was very competitive. Igor returned calls, showed up as scheduled, and kept us updated on progress and who would be there and when. They were all very professional and did excellent work. I have no complaints. We were referred to SD Tile (Igor) for tile install in our Master-​bath. **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED** Compare to most contractors/​Tile installers I found on Unilocal,SD Tile and Stone was the ONLY one that came through as far as their commitment, professional work and unbeatable pricing! Most promised to come by and give estimate but failed to show up or call, some were ridiculously priced, and a few said they would start our project then we wouldn’t hear from them. We had one of our bathrooms remodeled. New tile shower walls with niche and mural along with new tile floor was professionally done by Igor and his 2 helpers. They did an excellent job of also keeping our home clean but seeing the finishing touches came out Amazing!!! We’re very pleased and glad we found them! THANKS To Lana who answered my call and took care of us even though they had numerous projects, they managed to squeeze us in! Thank you Lana and Igor! We contracted SD Tile and Stone (owner Igor) to replace our marble floor. 760 square feet including entrance hall, kitchen, laundry and breakfast nook.
The original marble floor tiles were demolished quickly and effectively with a minimum of fuss. Igor installed large (32″ x 16″) ceramic tiles in an extremely tight fitting pattern so there are almost no grout lines. In the entrance we asked for a custom design and Igor created a marble inlay pattern, which looks amazing (see pic.). Igor cut all the tiles himself and took a lot of care to get things absolutely perfect. Nothing was too difficult or to too much trouble for Igor who takes great pride in his work.
The project was delivered on time and on budget with no surprises and to a very high standard. If you are looking for a top quality tile and stone installer look no further, you will not find better. Like several other posters, who have said they used SD Tile and Stone on additional projects, a great endorsement, we too have rehired them to remodel our fireplaces

My husband and I built a custom home. It was our dream home, so we were very particular about the flooring and tile work. SD Tile was amazing. We used jumbo size tiles in great room, herringbone wood and tiles in entry, very tight fitting tiles — minimal grout — in master bath. He was extremely detailed. Also installed all backsplashes in kitchen and bath. Tile in all bathrooms. Absolutely beautiful. We have a beautiful covered patio with stone flooring all around back of house. He is diligent, timely and most of all wants to do the best job he can for you.
I have a beautiful dream house and Sd Tile was a major contributor.

Igor was recommended from a friend and we used him on our condo to tile a fireplace and kitchen backsplash. His work was excellent and he was very creative to help solve the challenges of uneven walls, to make the fireplace look seamless.
We then hired Igor to tile our Master Bathroom. Not only did Igor tile the bathroom he did the demolition and the underlying structural work to enable us to remove the shower barrier and have the floor look great across the whole bathroom… Igor’s attention to detail is rare to find — he takes his time, does the right thing and shares ideas on how to make the room even better… Highly recommended !

We couldn’t be happier with the work performed by SD Tile & Stone. They are true craftsmen who take pride in their work and it shows in the quality of workmanship. I’ve done a fair amount of remodeling with my father so I have a bit of understanding and an eye for where some contractors seem to cut corners to save time & money.
We had a flood from broken refrigerator water line that ruined our engineered wood floors. I interviewed four different contractors and initially thought Igor’s bid would come in too high because he works on some pretty nice houses in a more exclusive part of San Diego. His price was competitive for the wood floor, bathroom tile, and stone work on the fireplace plus he put me in touch with some good people for plumbing, doors, painting, etc.
Igor started with the bathroom tile before Christmas and asked to see a sample of the wood floor we chose to replace the existing damaged floor. This is a seemingly simple but insightful question; by laying the tile at the proper height to match the new wood floor there wouldn’t be a need for a transition strip when he installed the wood floor after the holidays (engineered wood floors range from 3/​8″ to 5/​8″ thick). From this point on I knew I was in good hands. After the holidays, Igor’s father, Alex, took over the majority of the work. We chose a natural stone to replace the ugly red brick for the fireplace and each stone had to be individually cut to fit like pieces of a puzzle. Alex is a true artisan, we love our fireplace and it is readily apparent that Igor developed his attention to detail from his father. As work continued there were numerous other instances where they took the extra time and effort to make sure the flooring and stair treads were installed professionally.
Alex worked as much as we would let him, Monday through Saturday for a few weeks. My wife and kids loved seeing him each morning and he became a de facto member of our family.
In summary, SD Tile & Stone provide excellent work at competitive prices and are truly some of the nicest people you’ll come across. There is only one other contractor I have hired who was their equal in terms of project cost, quality of work, and quality of person. I wouldn’t hesitate for one moment in hiring SD Tile & Stone again for stone, tile, and/​or flooring install.

We bought our house in April of 2012 and at that time I initially hired Igor to help me with a bathroom remodel in our home. He ripped out the old tile, re-​leveled the floor, prepped the shower, and had the new tile in much faster than I anticipated. The speed wasn’t what I appreciated the most though, the fact that everything was absolutely perfect is what left my wife and I most content.
Once he finished the bathroom and he reviewed everything with me, I asked his opinion on hardwood flooring for the living room, hallways, and kitchen. I didn’t realize he would do hardwood installs as well, but he showed me some stuff he’d worked on before and helped me come up with a good plan and product to put in. I had him come back out the next week at which time he demo’d all the old tile, ground the mortar and concrete out, and dropped about 15 bags of leveling concrete on my slab as it had some major dips and valleys to it (probably why the existing tile job was such an adventure to walk across). At the end of the week, the new engineered hardwood was in, glued down, and looking perfect just like our bathroom. All of our friends and family love the flooring and it has held up perfectly for the past three years.
Again, while Igor reviewed everything with me, I asked his opinion of the fireplace and if he knew anyone that could help me make it look better. It was an original 1970s stucco and red brick fireplace with a less than perfect arch. He laughed and said he could redo the fireplace for me. Seeing how he was worth every penny on the other jobs he’d already done for me, I obviously agreed to have him take care of it for me. He helped me pick out a design and materials, and once again, had it done in no time at all. It looks awesome, my wife is super happy, we are big fans of Igor and his crew.
When he and Lana reached out to me to check out their new website, I was so happy to see that they are still doing great and keeping busy. The quality of work they are doing is probably the best out there, and to top it off, they are good people who I trust and would hire again every time.

Put aside the extremely reasonable prices that you will pay, I have never seen such meticulous, attention to detail work as Igor produces. He is a true old-​school craftsman who takes pride in every bit of the work. I would recommend him to anyone for any tile or flooring work. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

Igor was referred to us by a realtor friend and we understand why he was recommended. Igor does beautiful work. For us he has tiled floors, tiled showers, repaired tile work done by others and laid new laminate flooring. All were done with the care and attention to detail of a master craftsman. When I say craftsman I mean it in the best sense of the word. Igor has the eye of an artisan, superb technical skills and, more importantly, he cares about the quality of what he produces.

A true master of his trade, 2 houses later our hardwood floors, bathrooms, travertine patio with fire pit look amazing and we get compliments all of the time about the work.
