Weseloh Kia Carlsbad

After doing months of research and going back and forth with different salesman, and dealerships I came upon Kia Weseloh in Carlsbad. Through the Internet I met David Mendoza. He sent me a quote right off the bat and anything I asked of him he always gave me up front information. Unlike other dealers and salesmen who always skate around the answer. I very much appreciated that about David and came to Kia specifically because of this. I knew what I was getting myself into from the beginning and there was never any haggle or hassle. David made everything seamless and when I thought about possibly walking out he countered and lowered the car price to what I wanted. He was very friendly and personable! Would definately recommend anyone interested in purchasing a new car to contact David!

By far the best experience I have ever had buying a vehicle (and I have bought quite a few!). The first salesperson who helped us was Oscar. He recognized that we were serious car buyers, and treated us as such. Absolutely professional and no-​nonsense, yet kind. An amazing combination in a salesperson. The next salesperson who helped us was Kevin, who was also wonderful and top-​notch. Even the finance guy is sweet, knowledgable, and down-​to-​earth. We got an absolutely awesome deal AND felt comfortable and positive the whole time. We would not hesitate to go back to this dealership in the future.

We have bought 4 cars from this Kia dealership. They are always professional and very courteous. Most recently, we got a great deal on a brand new Kia Forte. Our sales associate was Greg Phillips and his service was superior. Greg is also the customer relations manager for Weseloh Kia and he made us feel very valued as customers. We bought the car during the closing hours and he stayed with us the whole time as we completed the paperwork to make sure everything was okay.

After getting just «okay» service at another dealership in car country, we drove past Weseloh Kia and decided «why not?». Brad greeted us and got the process of leasing a new Kia rolling right away. He made the process fairly easy all without a headache! Brad was such a pleasure to work with, he defiantly worked hard to make us happy. It was all around a great experience! I bought my Kia sportage from Weseloh Kia about 2 years ago and have no regrets. I love my car and I love going in to see the friendly staff when I need my routine service done. I am not one to keep up with what needs to be done on my car, so I love when I get friendly reminder emails from the service manager Matt. Matt is such a helpful friendly guy, and always there to accommodate. The rest of staff members are always smiling and making me feel welcome as well. Thanks Weseloh for doing an awesome job.

Other places were offering me basically the same vehicle for a few more hundred dollars. To emphasize my point, I drove 30 miles to meet David Mendoza because after just a few exchanges with him I knew that he could get me into the Kia Sportage that I deserved for the right price! Sure enough, it was a real pleasure giving these guys my business.
David invited me to look at a few different models and never deviated from our mutual understanding of what I was looking for and the price range I was looking at. They were also kind enough to leverage the value of my trade-​in well enough for me to have the necessary purchase power I needed. When it came time to finalize numbers everything was crystal clear. No hidden charges, transparency, excellent rates.

Purchased my 2013 Kia Sportage/​Turbo AWD at another dealership in another state, It is an awesome car and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it. Absolutely opposite and horrible experiences with the Weseloh Service Dept. each and every time, though.
The first time I took it in for service, it happened to be a Friday. I got basic service done and at this point, I told them that the heated passenger seat barely got warm, I picked up my car late Fri afternoon and was told by Matt, the service mgr, that nothing was wrong with the heat on my seat. When I drove the car during the next week, I began to think that I was having an engine problem by the noises it was making. I had to eventually take it in and Matt took a ride with my husband and I. After a short time, he asked me to pull/​opened the hood and found that the air filter wasn’t tightened down properly. He apologized and gave a small discount coupon for the future, I was truly hesitant to take it in ever again. I called the head mgr to state my concerns in terms of having Weseloh mechanics being qualified to work on my car again. To sum it up, I was told that Fri was not a good day to bring a car in for service as it’s too busy. No acceptance or acknowledgement that the air filter task was not oompleted properly. This is something that should be mastered in a basic Mechanics 101 class. I guess they should be closed on Fridays!
The seat issue was eventually settled in my favor and heating in passenger seat was replaced. So, stupid me, I ready took it back for another basic service, And, I asked that the allergy filter on my air filtration system be replaced,. Did this all, at my inconvenience on a Monday, because they said that Fridays are not good for them. When we went to pick up the car and drove it home, once again, the air filter had not screwed down properly and the «check engine» light was on. It was around 5pm and when I called, I was given the excuse that since. it’s a turbo, the air filter has to be screwed down differently and that the mechanics there are not familiar with these (!) Funny, because I looked at several 2013 Kia Sportage Turbos on their lot when I was car shopping for my car. I wonder where the people who bought these have to go to get their car serviced properly.
The Gen. Mgr of service offered to come with a mechanic the next day to make the adjustment. I was working so my husband had to take time off from work to meet them. Problem was that they didn’t reset ”check engine” light. So, when I drove back and forth from Carlsbad to University City that day, I was so stressed out, We had to leave many messages before we were replied to. We were told that we had to «stop by» for them to look out it. They discovered that when they did the service check, they did not screw gas cap on well. It was too loose.
I ask, would anyone trust their car to be serviced by these people? These are very, very basic tasks that can’t be mastered well. I can’t trust them with my car again. Everything’s an excuse from them, they won’t take action against the repair people to give me any peace of mind in the future. My father, who has passed away, was a mechanic. I know how simple these tasks are, The mechanics there do not seem to be adequately trained and supervised. The allergy filter is still moldy. Don’t think it was properly changed out, My sense is that if I risked taking my car there again, it could be severely damaged, I will also file a complaint with Kia because, apparently, mechanics at Weseloh don’t have the proper skills to work on Kia Turbo models, Not even really basic stuff. For your car’s safety and well – being, please don’t do any business with this service dept. Our repeated calls to Matt and to the Head Svc Mgr have not been returned since this incident, The car is great but with such bad quality of service, the future does not look good with Kia.

I am leasing my dream car from Weseloh Kia. I have nothing but great things to say.
From the minute i walked in Vincenzo Luongo made everything so much less stressful. I had been car shopping all week and usually end of each experience with a headache, but this was not the case here. Vincenzo helped my get everything i wanted in a car well within my need for an extremely monthly payment.
The whole team here did everything they could to help me leave happy,. They did not take advantage of how young i was, or that i was alone, they worked with me which does not always happen in dealerships.
I will definitely recommend Weseloh Kia an all its staff, especially Vincenzo Luongo.

If you need a Kia see Oscar. He is the best. We have been buying cars from this dealer for about 5 yeArs and we always get the best service from them. 5 cars/​trucks later we wouldn’t shop anywhere else. They are kind and have the best customer service they don’t jerk you around.

This was my first purchase from Weseloh Carlsbad, and I couldn’t be happier. From my initial contact with Alex in Sales to the conclusion with Shawn in Finance, everything was so easy and pleasant.
We dealt with Mike during our negotiation and sale, and he’s wonderful. He was friendly, candid, patient, and he didn’t feel pushy (which I despise). Even after the purchase, we had a minor issue with a small driver window scratch (we bought in the rain at night and didn’t see it). I emailed Mike, and he was so helpful to resolve and fix the problem. We’re going in next week to get it replaced, and I’m happy.
Although we weren’t sure we wanted a Kia initially, our sales experience and the driving our Sorento made it so that we’d have a hard time going anywhere else. My only suggestion would be for their internet sales to get better at responding. I did their live chat twice the same day before I went in, and I never received a call or email, despite the the live chat people saying they would have someone contact me. They would get ZERO stars, but because of Mike, Shawn, and Alex, I give the 5. Go here first…

We just bought our second Kia from Weseloh. A very pleasant experience! I forget our sales persons name – he was a former military gentleman. Not pushy or high pressure at all.
My husband is the total shop around type of guy, and we were very happy with the deal we got on our van. They also had some good Kia rebates going on, so that was also cool.
We worked with Kyle on the paperwork part, and he was nice and very efficient. I am so relieved it was a smooth, not stressful process. Definitely recommend!

Purchased my Kia Forte 5 a little over 3 months ago and still love it like the first moment I drove off the lot and still am bragging to my friends about my experience here. My whole car buying experience was fantastic as I felt like all team members at Weseloh Kia wanted to do me right and had my best intentions in mind.
Not one «cheesy salesman tricks.» My conversation regarding price and vehicle options were throughly explained and I felt very respected throughout the entire process.
I walked in and was clear that I intended to purchase a car soon but did not need to buy today.
I walked away with a great value for exactly what I wanted. The trick here is I felt truly heard and at no point did I feel like my sales associate was desperate to sell me on something I don’t need. When I said I don’t care for heated seats, power seat adjustments or a sunroof but wanted leather my best options were presented to me not pushed and I was able to come to a car & price that will satisfy me long term. Plus a great warranty!

Called Weselo Kia of Carslbad today, ask for the parts department but no answer, only a voicemail that somebody would call me back.
Not even an email or a courtesy call.
I guess they are not interested in helping a customer unless they are buying a new car.
C’est la vie, there are plenty’O Kia dealers to choose from.

Just bought a 2015 KIA Forte and I love it!!! It has great gas mileage, a lot of trunk space for a sedan and drives so smooth. This is my first brand new car and I couldn’t be happier with it! Salesman, Shaun Wright, was such a help throughout this process. I am in a tough financial situation, but needed a reliable car. Shaun had my best interest in mind the whole time. I knew he wasn’t trying to sell me something I couldn’t afford, and he wasn’t settling for something that was in my budget but just mediocre. The most pratical decision was all he would settle for (I can be really impractical and focus on looks so this was a huge help). He worked really hard, from 2 – 6, just making sure I was happy with the right car. Never once did I question that he had my best interest in mind. Thanks Weseloh KIA and thanks Shuan! I LOVE my new ride!

Very rude service.
I am a current Kia owner, and this is my first bad experience with anyone from Kia. I usually go to a different Kia service center, but since i was in the area, i figured to id drop off my car for basically an oil change. I usually book my appointments online, and in doing so I saw that they didnt have an express option like other kias do. IE basic package with an oil change, tire rotation and inspection. But their website was advertising their Happy Car Special which included those services.
I simply wanted to ask how to book that special. I activated a chat and spoke with a service agent Jaci. She was not helpful at all. I asked about scheduling service for today after 2 pm. She immediately took down my information and told me someone would call me. She did not ask what i actually needed help with. I asked when i can expect someone to call. She blew me off saying at their first opportunity. I then literally told her i know exactly what i need done, and i just done see the option online. Instead of showing any willingness to help, she ended the conversation.
So. I guess ill be telling everyone about this experience and recommended everyone NOT to give them their business. Id definitely recommend going elsewhere since their points of first contacts aren’t willing to help.

This is my 3^rd time buying a car and I truly hate dealing with car salesman, but Carlos Arias at this dealership was amazing! It was such a pleasure working with him. I first contacted him by email and drove all the way from Long Beach to Carlsbad to check out the deals. I brought my 3 family members and Carlos made us feel comfortable and really helped me find the right car for me and the right price for me. I highly recommend this dealership! Terrified of having to buy a car (old one died) I ventured into this dealership expecting the typical garbage that is normally car salesman. Randy greeted me and LISTENED didn’t yak yak yak he listened to what my needs were and within an hour had shown me several cars that fit my needs.
When I was not ready to make a decision he didn’t high pressure me. He instead offered to drive me home as I had arrived by bus.
After thinking overnight and being ready to make a commitment I called to let him know and he OFFERED TO PICK ME UP.
Fernando in finance and Randy in sales were awesome… I will never go to another dealership, this experience was amazing, the car is awesome and kudos to them for awesome service

Bought my car about a year and half ago. I take my car in for all the routine Maintenance. So today I had went i for a oil change but decided to do more. It all way 157 buck no biggie, I was getting the car washed with that. So when you get just a oil change or you do the upgraded service you still get the same crappy wash. They didn’t even get the bugs off the front of the car or even the windshield. You would think for 157 bucks they would at least vacuum the car out! But no they didn’t. For a 157 bucks I can get my car detailed and the oil changed. So needless to say I want be going back for service or when I am ready to trade this one in. They are all nice but that makes it worse. They smile as they say we have washed your car umm no you didn’t

I would give zero star for my buying experience if I can.
To keep it short, they use old-​school high pressure sales tactics, the salesperson, Joey Cassata, was very disrespectful and unethical. Probably the worst car salesperson you can find in San Diego. I rarely use strong language like that but this is just simply unacceptable business practices.
I would avoid dealing with him if you decide to buy from Weseloh Kia, which actually has pretty decent ratings here.
Here are the details if you’re curious.
A week ago I configured a specific model I want from Kia but Kearny Pearson Kia (which is closest to me) did not have it in stock, I worked out the numbers with Kearny but I’d have to wait for at least a week for the next one to come.
I reached out to Weseloh since their rating is good here and Joey claimed he has the specific car I want. I sent him the numbers Kearny gave me and he said he can match them and asked me to visit. I went all the way from San Diego to Carlsbad only to find out he indeed «matched» the price but it’s a different car. The car has less options so essentially he raised the price. It was okay because we’re talking about only $ 500 worth of options. What’s not okay was the way he tried to pressure me into buying.
I asked him to explain to me how he came to the numbers as I noticed some options are missing. He got irritated right away, switching from a friendly «I am retired and I am not here for the money, I want to take care of my customers» salesperson to this unreasonable high-​pressure pushy guy.
He kept talking when I was trying to explain my points. He wouldn’t listen to me when I said it’s not the car I was looking for. He turned his computer off in the middle of our conversation and said «will you do it or not?». I said «I can’t make a decision because it’s not the same car, I have to at least understand how you came to the numbers». He stood up and walked to the front door, opened the door and basically asked me to leave. This is not even a 3-​minute discussion from when I found out the car is not the same to when he made a 180.
It’s insulting, it’s disrespectful, it’s unethical. I don’t believe that’s the business practice of Weseloh Kia because they do have some very decent reviews here. I do believe it has to do with this specific salesperson as I see another 1-​star review about him here.
I am just very disappointed and in shock that people still use this kind of tactics today. I went there totally ready to make a purchase, I even had a friend drop me off expecting to drive home with a new car. I hope someone from the management level from Weseloh Kia reads this, because this salesperson is basically ruining their reputation all day everyday.
Update: 24 hours later, I got my car from North County Kia. Much better experience there!
