Woman’s Club of Carlsbad

Where do I even begin with explaining the bad service we received here?
This past Saturday the hall was rented out for my nieces sweet 16 party. The set up was nice & it was supposed to be a special day however it wasn’t.
We had the ladies who rent out the hall following all of our guests around, telling the DJ to lower his music, rushing our guests and the party planners to pick up & leave, running up on stage to tell the DJ to lower his music again (actually more than once & the Music was low to begin with) & people weren’t allowed outside & when they were one of the ladies was out there telling everyone to lower their voices & watching everyone. I personally walked to the front to my car and they had security follow me to see what I was doing…
A lot of family kept asking what had been going on & the reason we were all given was because ‘the neighbor has made a city noise ordinance & complaint’ & the party had barely started an hour prior… so therefore we couldn’t be loud. Long story short when we were outside and the doors were shut you could not hear anything. As soon as guests arrived those ladies would be outside telling people as soon as they got out of their cars to lower their voices when in reality they were talking at normal range.
The security guard even said this has been one of the quietest parties he had ever worked for…
When it was brought up to the ladies about not hearing the sound outside they just said ‘read the contract’. No where does it say ‘please lower voices & music because of neighbor’ and no where did it state they would be standing in the corner with their arms crossed watching every Persons move. I’m not saying we wanted to be like super loud and like rock stars I’m just saying we wanted it more like a celebration. A calm & normal celebration.
Ok I’m going to stop writing because I could write more but I feel like we were ripped off. If you pay for the venue you should be able to at least have fun & enjoy the moment, unfortunately here it was impossible to do such thing. I recommend saving your money and not renting this place out. I’m sure the ladies are still standing in the corner of the hall reading this…

I am not familiar with Carlsbad so this Woman’s Club in a residential came to my surprise.
I came to this venue for a Mad Hatter’s Fashion show ran by the San Diego Lion’s club.
The indoors is spacious, again for a small function. It is clean and in the auditorium, there is plenty of natural light from the large windows that flank one side of the wall. They must have some type of kitchen in the backroom since, lunch was offered to us. The parking is a good size for a small function, but there is also street parking available.
