Benny’s Dog Resort

Heard from a neighbor about Benny’s. Great price for great care of my pup. Love that they have outdoor play areas. People are kind. I drive 20 min to take my dog here. Worth the drive.

I feel very comfortable leaving my dog here while I am away. This place has great service and a wonderful facility for dogs to socialize in. Jinju and Yuma love it here. Thank you Benny’s!

We recently moved back to the Dallas area and were in need of a boarding facility for our girls over Christmas. At our last place we had to make holiday reservations way in advance so I was worried they wouldn’t have spots open. Luckily they did, and I was even more pleased to find out what we had been paying in Austin is what it costs here for them to have VIP accommodations. Done!
Right away I appreciated them wanting to see recent vet papers as well as doing a free trial day of daycare to be sure they would get along with the other dogs and not be aggressive. Any boarding facility that doesn’t do this beforehand is one I would be weary of.
When we came to pick them up at the end of their trial day they gave us a tour of their facility too. They let the pups play all day and only put them in rooms at night to sleep. They have security cameras everywhere and lots of fun activities like a playground pirate ship for them to jump all over which I love.
The staff are very friendly and kind to our girls, going so far as to email us while we were away to say how much they were loving the cold weather.
The only reason I’m giving them 4 and not 5 stars is because of all the added fees. For a VIP suite it’s $ 60 a night ($ 45 for the first dog and an additional $ 15 for each dog after that). The other rooms were way too small for huskies so I wouldn’t feel comfortable booking them in anything other than the VIP. Plus they keep them together, give them raised cots to sleep on, extra bedding, fresh water, and even play soft music while they sleep.
If you pick them up after 11:00 it’s extra ($ 10 I think) and also they charge if you forget to bring food. Our other place would feed the girls for free. I believe here it’s $ 1 per meal per dog, which doesn’t seem high but for 2 dogs that are there a week it adds up.
If you are looking to just do daycare, it’s $ 22 per dog a day and grooming is around $ 30 – 40 each dog depending on the size and what all you need done. (Just a bath or bath plus nails and brushing etc)
It makes me feel good that their front door is always locked, and you have to ring a doorbell for assistance. I also like that they have a personal vet nearby should an emergency happen and will consult you before making any decisions.
Our girls had a blast here and I felt very secure while we were away that they were both safe and happy. We will continue to bring them here in the future.

Great facility and indeed it is a resort for dogs! I was introduced through Groupon and I’m glad I tried. My puppy loves running in outdoor setting so this is a great fit for her. Also, Staff is very friendly as well. Some people complained about the break time between 11am-​1pm, but I think it’s great for dogs to rest and rewind. I would also like to comment on the great owner Benny. He was very professional on all the email responses with the great customer service!

I brought my 3 dogs here for daycare the last week of May.
I brought them here because it’s literally down the street from where I work so I can easily drop them off and pick them up and my apartment was getting a maint. inspection the following day so I had get them out of the apartment. I was also on the hunt of a doggy daycare not too far from my work or apartment where I could start taking them on a regular basis.
I brought all 3 of my dogs to their first daycare trial in the morning.
I have Zoey-​a Yorkie 9pd female (4yrs old), Billy-​a Yorkie/​Maltese 5pd male (7yrs old) and a Luna-​a Schnauzer/​Poodle Mix 13pds (2yrs old).
I explained to the lady all about their individual personalities. I mentioned that Zoey the Yorkie is very shy with new people and it will take her a bit to warm up, she is very independent but she’s fine with dogs. My other 2 love to run and play with dogs and people. They were both found as strays and seem to be fine with all different types people surprisingly.
She proceeds to give me a tour of the place and I could see my dogs were already running around being dogs at the outside area where they get to play. I loved seeing them so happy and able to release all that energy! I left feeling confident that they would do well and have a blast.
When I came to pick them up later that afternoon she informed me that my Luna & Billy did great with all the dogs and them (the 2 ladies working there) but that Zoey growled at one of the ladies when it was time to rest and when they put a leash on her to take her to the shaded area. They said she wasn’t allowed back but that my other 2 dogs were allowed back.
Leaving I felt upset because I felt that Zoey wasn’t given a second chance to warm up in the new environment and the people there. She was just so easily dismissed. I wanted to talk to Benny (owner) to see if he could give her another chance or maybe work with her to see what she did but he was not there that afternoon when I picked up my dogs.(He was there that morning outside playing with the dogs, he was even holding Billy my dog, which was really sweet.)
I really like the place and esp. the play area. I was thinking of taking them there at least 1x a week but it wouldn’t be fair in my opinion to leave my 1 dog at home in a kennel while my other 2 are out playing with other dogs.
When I had to bring them again (the next day) due to my apartment getting a maintenance inspection I brought the other 2 here since it is so close to work but I had my boyfriend take Zoey to work with him for a bit while the inspection was being done. When I picked them up I wanted to talk to the girl about bring Zoey back and having Benny work with her but it was super busy as dog parents were coming in n out to get their babies.
I’m really sad I cant bring all my dogs together to play here esp. now that the weather is soo nice out and it’s not super hot!
I give it 3 stars because I felt like there was no second chance for my Zoey to come back.
Otherwise it would get a 5 stars.

Wonderful place with very caring staff. One of our pups is very frightened of storms. Benny’s staff take such good care of her and we really appreciate all of their extra efforts make her comfortable.

My dog loves it here. As a frequent traveller I have been boarding my dog here regularly for the past couple of years. This is not a «kennel» in the conventional sense as they have a large outdoor and indoor area where the dogs can run and play for hours on end. The staff are a joy to work with and I can tell they love dogs just as much as the people who use their services. It means a lot to me that I have a place I can bring my dog and know that he’s in good hands. Prices are great too. 5 stars for the people at Benny’s and they’ve earned every one of them.

My dog had his first over night visit to Benny’s last week and he had a great time! I love the activities available to the dogs (lots of space to play) and the price! Some of the staff is very enthusiastic and others can seem a bit annoyed at times. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely bring my dog back soon :)

I just realized I’ve had my dogs at Benny’s 15 – 20 times now and have never written a review. We tried 3 – 4 different boarding companies and my great dane would always lose a significant amount of weight when we picked her up. She never liked to go either. Now, after 2 years of using Benny’s exclusively I can say she’s never had that problem any trip. His staff is always very kind to my beast, and she’s always excited. She eats well there and always comes home exhausted.
I worry about my docs in the TX heat and am very glad they can accommodate her spoiled disposition with plenty of time to cool down.
We probably have 15 boarders between our house and Benny’s but will continue to use them every time. The service is fantastic and you really get the impression they love what they do. Having two dos in a VIP suite, this is also this cheapest place we found. Nothing was really comparable.
I cant say enough nice things about Benny’s because he and his staff really do it right.

We’ve been taking our Sasha to Benny’s since she was a baby after trying out several different doggie daycares in the area, and we recommend it to all our friends.
Sasha is now a 4-​year-​old, 50 lb malamute/​husky mix with an excellent temperament, and while we’d like to think that’s because we’re experienced Op Kindness volunteers and dog owners, Benny’s has been a huge part of helping her become such a great dog. Anyone who has a working dog breed knows that they need plenty of exercise and socialization to avoid issues like separation anxiety, destruction of your furniture/​carpet, and general disobedience. Benny’s caring staff has been an important part of her growth, playing with her and loving on her so she gets the attention and exercise she needs when we have to work.
We love Benny’s! The facilities are clean, the outdoor play area is spacious, and most importantly, the team is friendly and compassionate. Every so often we receive hilarious photos of our dog doing strange things, like surveying the doggy kingdom from the top of the wooden ship, dashing through the pools in summertime, or awkwardly catching a ball mid-​air while looking somewhat like a dinosaur. We purchase 10-​day packages and she comes home fresh and clean from a complimentary bath after the 10^th visit.
Keep a level head when reading some of these negative reviews. We are constantly at dog parks meeting owners who say «Fluffy’s a great dog!» as Fluffy proceeds to exhibit insecure posture and aggressive «play» behavior. It’s also our responsibility as dog owners to ensure our pets are up to date on vaccinations to prevent Bordatella (kennel cough) and other doggy diseases. Lastly, reviewers demanding daily update photos of their dog may want to reconsider their helicopter parenting strategy — it has the same awful effect on dog children as it does on human ones. Many of the negative reviews reflect the beliefs of dog owners who want to blame this small business for issues that they should take responsibility for themselves.

Been coming here for years and would highly recommend to anyone.
Spacious facility, with 25,000 square feet of out door play area. Pirate ship, multiple play structures, lots of shaded areas, wading pools.
Hours of operation 7am to 7pm seven days a week. They are closed for lunch /​nap time from 11am to 1pm.
The daycare service is a deal, if you purchase a 5, 10 or 20 day pass which offers various levels of discounts and with the 10 & 20 pass including a free bath.
The Doggy hotel choose from multiple kennel sizes from economy ($ 30), standard ($ 32), to extra large Vip suites ($ 45)
The entire staff are long term employees that truly care about the dogs, and customers. They are always happy to see my dog and know her name. Benny’s is involved in several animal charitable organizations and often donates part of the revenue for worthy causes which is a nice bonus.
They provide other additional services such as doggie baths, «pupcakes», you can even get a bordetalla shot for $ 10, and lastly taxi service for pickup and drop-​off.

I have been to Benny’s for a while. Not so often but at least once a week especially on Sundays. I didn’t much much good experiences here. When my dog first went there he got kennel coughs… upper respiratory infections. They had sign that some infections are going around so be careful or something. When I saw that, I was little dissapointed bc if you knew, wasn’t there something that they could have done? I didn’t want to be so negative because it was my first experience so I said alright it can happen and I try to think I’m sure they did what they could have done.
I took my dog couple more times and one time I brought my dog’s food around one and asked if they give lunch. The staff said No. People usually feed them in the morning before they bring-​in and after they pick them up. Well, I still had bag of my dog’s food on my hand wanting to give him before I leave but because they have put my dog in the play area already I guess she didn’t wanna get him out which I think it would’ve take less than 5 min. I wasn’t so happy about seeing their staff being so ignorant about what customers want and care. I really didn’t want my dog to play there starving… also, I heard from other staff do feed during lunch. Well, every staffs says different things here.
Anyways… I went to go pick him up and wanted see him playing real quick and they took me to the back. While I was seeing my dog, the other staff was about to bring my dog back in… that staff was grabbing my dog’s collar and just dragging him so roughly. She had no smile on her face what’s so ever. Now I was really getting upset thinking how are they really treating my dog?
Even though I was upset. I tried to understand again, maybe she isn’t having a good day or tired it’s end of the day. but you know sometimes you can really tell how they are with your dogs staffs acts, expressions, and the way the talk to you. If they aren’t so friendly to a customer… how do I see them being so nice to my dog?
I still tried to chill and trust them. I took my dog on other day. He got hug skin missing. yes, I know it can happen but it wasn’t just a scratch. it’s piece of his skin missing… next couple more times I took him there and I made sure to tell him please don’t allow him play too rough. So I gave them another chance.
I took my dog again on Sundays to drop him off for before church again, and picked him up before 4. «The Staff» who was just grabbing and dragging my dog’s collar so rough, told me that I have to bring my dogs from 7am to 11am or 1p to 7p for half day. When I first called them and ask them, they said any time less than 6 hours is fine for half days and that’s what I have been doing last couple Sundays. I told her oh no… that will be a problem for me now bc I have morning service at 11am and get out from church around 2:30 to 3pm after some meetings… then ignoring my feelings with an attitude she told me «Well you can bring em around that and pick him up but you just gotta pay the full price.» Yes, that can be true I can drop him off 10:45am and pick him up at 2:30pm and pay $ 22 for 4hours but I am not that rich or stupid to do that.
I can never appreciate a business that DO NOT VALUE CUSTOMER’S MONEY and APPRECIATE customers. Am I just a cheap person? No. I send my dog to two other doggie daycare for full day bc I know they treat my dog well all day and really watch him. I love bringing some gifts for them, dog toys for them or whatever I can show my appreciation to them as they are. One of the place would feed my dog at any time I request, always tell me how he did and of course I can drop my dog off AT ANY TIMES on both of the place and YES, STAFFS ARE SUPER FRIENDLY AND NICE. then Why did I take my dog to Benny’s? I wanted my dog to enjoy as many places and on Sundays other places weren’t opened for that long. That was the only reason.
I wish I have say something to that staff but because she was just so insensitive and not kind, I didn’t know what to say and I just left. unfortunately, I left my dog’s leash and I went to go pick that up on Tues and while I was there, I asked the other staff that was there who was little more friendly and answered and inquiry. Well, this person now says oh it shouldn’t really matter as long as it’s less than 6 hours. I told her the other girl said I can’t. I told her to please make sure and let me know. She wrote my number… I never got a call.
Benny seems to be a nice guy but I have never met him and it’s so unfortunate to see his place being so out of manage which always happens when owners aren’t around.
Well, reasons for 2 stars are for other staffs that were okay and those funs that my dog had there. I’m sure my dog liked it, but my dog loves everywhere with dogs anyways. But why would I choose this place where there are 20 – 30 dog daycare with friendly staffs and flexible times.

Great daycare and lodging for dogs. It was highly recommended by a friend with a big dog and my little dogs love it too. Great care, clean facilities, and wonderful play areas. My dogs are happy and excited the moment they arrive. Always a good sign. There is a separate area for small dogs.

We have been taking our 40 pound standard poodle to Benny’s for a few months now. She goes on average 4+ times per week, so I think we have enough to go on as far as a review. Here goes…
THE PEOPLE:
I’m not sure that I’ve ever met «Benny», but I’ve met a lot of the other folks there. They’re all great people. They know our dog by name and when we pick her up, often times they give a little review on her day. Recently, they noted to us that she was «reserved and not acting like herself» for the day. We took our little one to the vet and it turned out that she had a chipped tooth that may have been causing her pain… So we went ahead and got that fixed. That was a great catch by them to pay that close of attention to her behavior and to let us know.
THE PLACE:
It’s a decent place. I mean, it’s a doggy daycare. It’s in a warehouse in a light industrial area. If you want a place that’s all high brow up in Addison or whatever — then you’re likely going to be paying out the nose for it. This place has a very large play area with various features that the dogs can climb around and play on. It has a large shaded/​sheltered area as well. They also have a large penalty box where residents go if they get a little carried away doing the things that doggies sometimes do.
THE SERVICE:
You drop off your dog, and the dog plays all day. In the summertime, they take a couple two-​hour breaks. If you get your dog and they don’t seem too tired, just mention that the next day… they’ll get all the play they can handle. I mentioned that one time and my little one was out cold for almost a whole weekend.
THE PRICE:
It’s not bad. I think the last time we bought, it was a ten-​pack for 140 bucks and that comes with a free bath on the 10^th day.
WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR:
These are dogs playing all day. They might get dirty. (I know, I know… But people complain about the darndest things.) If it’s raining, bring towels when you go to pick up your dog. If your dog is like mine, there are no rain-​outs for playtime. She will come to the car totally drenched. (They do bring the dogs in if there is a thunderstorm in the area.)
WHAT THEY COULD IMPROVE:
The drop-​off and pick-​up process is basically you going to the door and ringing a bell and waiting for someone to come out from in back and meet you. Sometimes you might wait a few minutes. There was a daycare we used downtown that had a cool valet service where they had people waiting outside and they would take your dog from the car… That might be a cool idea.
Overall, it’s great. I’m a fan.

I can’t believe this, I just called Benny’s to bring in my two 10-​lb maltipoos. I’m glad I asked questions. All dogs are kenneled from 11 – 1 and from 3 – 5. That’s four hours of the time you’ve paid for dog daycare that your dog will spend in a kennel. If they’re there for an 8-​hour day, that’s half the day! Not okay. Also, they said they have a separate small dog area, but it’s outside. Their website advertises indoor and outdoor play areas but the girl on the phone at Benny’s said it’s ALL outside. False advertising! Anyone who has a small dog knows it’s not safe to leave them outside in the TX heat. I’m aghast at their business practice of leaving all dogs, even the small ones outside. I will not be bringing my dog here.

We’ve used Benny’s to board our dog and for day visits. During my first visit, I was encouraged to walk through every aspect of the facility, to ask questions – all were answered without hesitation. I observed the play area and didn’t feel rushed to drop my dog for his trial visit and leave. When I returned a couple days later to board him, as soon as he saw where we were, my dog got all excited. I would recommend Benny’s for day play or for boarding without hesitation. It’s exactly what we were looking for – ample outdoor space and roomy boarding suites plus a friendly staff who greet you with a smile every time.

This place was recommended by a friend who used it many times for daycare and boarding for her lab mix. I visited it and some other places to see if it would work for my 8 pound dog. It was the cleanest and most professional place by far. My little one really loves it here. There is an area just for small dogs. She was in good condition and happy when I picked her up. Great place for a good price.

Whats not to love! Friendly staff — and knowing your pets are in great hands.

Every dog parent knows the anxiety that comes from having to board your dog. Since my entire family moved away from the area, I had to look into boarding Oreo for a long weekend. We usually take him to Petsmart for day camp but they charge $ 40/​night! Yikes! Benny’s was highly recommended on Unilocal and a lot cheaper for boarding so I decided to sign up for the Meet & Greet.
I took Oreo in the morning and they told me to leave him all day for free! Sweet! I got the tour when I picked him up later in the day. He looked so adorable outside standing by the fan. Hehe. He passed with flying colors and was ready to board while I went on vacation. After we got back he was pooped from all the playing he did. Seriously he barely wanted to do anything but lay around and it was awesome because we were pooped from our trip.
I think it’s great they make your dog come to a Meet & Greet to make sure he does well with all the other doggies. OH I mentioned Unilocal on my first visit and they gave me the discount! Oreo will always stay at Benny’s for an overnight stay.
