Excellent service. Ron showed up on time, he wrote me an email and he emailed me an estimate with options and clear descriptions of how he would proceed with cat 6 wiring in my Berkeley home. Very happy with this business and with the owner, Ron.

After two years of my system humming right along it was time for an upgrade. I had First Reflection come back and install a SONOS Connect along with a TiVo Bolt into my existing rig. In addition, Ron updated my remote as well as cleaned up my system cabinet so everything looks tight as a drum. TiVo has a new ‘skip’ feature (which is pretty cool — similar to Dish Hopper I think) — unfortunately, the skip command was not programmed into my remote. When I alerted Ron of the issue, he scheduled another visit out to my house (no charge) and fixed me right up. If you’re looking for a detailed A/​V consultant who stands behind his work and only offers the best advice, I highly re-​recommend First Reflection. You will not be disappointed.

Ron and his team are top notch, pay meticulous attention to detail and are completely focused on customer satisfaction. We had a very complicated setup with 7 tv’s, sonos inside and outside (with associated speaker installation), apple tv, xfinity, and security camera integration. This required two separate racks of equipment and extensive RTI programming to get the job done. When we did have some issues Ron worked tirelessly to address to our satisfaction.
I can view cable tv, apple tv, and our security cameras (selectable via the remote) from all of tv’s. We have three remote panels where we can turn on or off the audio/​video equipment, view the weather and view any of our security camera’s. Installation of all equipment was neat and professionally done with minimal impact to the house. and Ron worked very well with other contractors working on the house.

Early in 2015, we had moved into our new home and I needed a qualified company to install a home entertainment system for the media space we were designing. I interviewed a few companies and quickly learned that this was going to be a fairly large job that required someone with the expertise for the scope of the project, would be meticulous with the design and installation, and would be willing to work with a hands on home owner. Ron had all of the above and his positive energy and Unilocal reviews convinced me he was the person for the job.

Ron worked with the designer of the cabinet maker (Valet Custom Cabinets) to develop a fantastic system that combined high quality components and speakers that can be enjoyed at any volume, and a home theatre experience that makes us feel like we are at the local movie theatre. The design also included a Sonos 6 channel whole house and outdoor audio system that is brilliantly easy. Anyone that comes to visit can be playing their music in any room in the house from their device within minutes.

Ron was a pleasure to work with and delivered everything he said he would. His trade partners were professional and their work was impeccable. I would highly recommend First Reflection Audio Visual.

I found First Reflection through Unilocal and worked with Ron to design and install my new home theater system. This was a challenging job in that we were also remodeling a large portion of our home, so scheduling and coordination with the other contractors was tricky. Ron clearly knows his stuff when it comes to equipment, and is (sometimes painfully) meticulous in his approach to design and installation. If quality is your #1 consideration, I don’t think there is any better choice than First Reflection.

I needed to refresh all of my audio and video equipment and didn’t want to do it myself this time. Ron did a great job helping me select equipment and integrate the system, including cooling fans for a cabinet that used to get very hot. I now have big screens in two rooms along with all new electronics and a very flexible Sonos music system. On my main home theater setup he also did a great remote control where one button turns on and resets the system for TV, DVDs, streaming apps or Sonos.
Ron meticulously plans out each system and the required wiring in advance and his execution is really impressive. The cabinets with the components are almost shockingly neat. Quite a difference from the rats nest of wires that I used to have. Highly recommended.

We were referred to Ron through Custom Valet. Ron and his team were very professional when installing our new sound system. They were very good about keeping things cleaned up and were very friendly to all members of the family (animals included). They worked through challenges and stayed late until the job was done. He came back quickly to resolve any issues that came up. We love our Sonos and invisible speakers that he recommended.

Ron and his team are standouts in this field. In looking to upgrade and add to our A/​V setup, I spoke with several vendors. Ron was by FAR the most responsive and most thoughtful and I’m very glad we chose to work with him (and he with us).
In addition to updating equipment for a 7.1 projector system in our basement and a smaller system in our family/​playroom, Ron helped us to design and assemble a wireless Sonos system that allows us to (very simply) control music in our kitchen, living room and backyard. All three of these systems look and sound great.
Ron had very good recommendations with respect to what equipment to choose (and where to put it) and even credited us for equipment and parts we had originally agreed to install but didn’t need. His team (Corey Long) did a fantastic job of running cable in our old house that others said would require opening multiple walls. In addition, Ron’s follow-​up has been great with the few questions we’ve had since the install.
Bottom line, Ron is a professional and he is excellent at his job. We are planning a project next spring that we will want to include A/​V and I will not hesitate for a second to call Ron and his team at First Reflection to do that work.

I did some research and found First Reflection Audio Video (FRAV) on Unilocal.I was so amazed by all of the positive reviews that I decided to go for it.
They say that people excel in jobs that they like to do, and Ron is a perfect example of this. His attention to detail is incredible. And I could tell that Ron is so excited about the work that he does. If you are looking for someone that is a leader in this rapidly changing technology, Ron is your man. I had an idea about what I wanted; Ron assessed my house and gave me my options. I went with a home theater system in the family room and an eight-​zone Sonos system (with room for expansion) for music throughout the house and backyard.
The Home Theater System is comprised of a 70″ Sony 3D 4K HDTV for the main TV and two 24″ HDTVs for monitors that tuck behind the big TV when not in use (I watch a lot of sports). It includes five Stealth Acoustics surround-​sound speakers in the ceiling and two powerful subwoofers (I can get the whole house to shake). The input includes cable TV, Apple TV, 3D Blu-​Ray, Chromecast, and Sonos.
With the Sonos system we are able to play music from our iPhones, iPad, computer, Pandora, Sirius XM, or tap into just about any radio station in the world. For instance, we had our Italian relatives visiting and we were able to tune to their favorite Italian radio station.
My wife does interior decorating as a hobby and has a dislike for wires, speakers, and equipment being in view. Ron convinced me to put the equipment out of sight in a cabinet in the laundry room and to go with the stealth speakers. We put the speakers in the ceiling for the home theatre system and in the walls for the other rooms in the house. Even with this massive system, not one single wire is in sight. My wife absolutely loves it.
I was amazed at how Ron and his Team were able to get all that wiring in the walls with minimal disturbance. I felt I could trust Ron and I did — the first part of the installation was while we were on vacation so I gave him and his Team access to my house. Ron kept in contact with me and even sent me pictures of the plastic curtains they put up to isolate the dust and eliminate it from getting to our furnishings. This worked out real well.
The software that Ron installed on my iPad for the home theater system is incredible. He found some brand new graphics templates and wanted me to go with those so bad that he gave it to me for $ 100 below his cost! He customized & programmed it for my system. All the control buttons for everything are there on the iPad and very easy to use. Even my wife (who is not very tech-​savvy) can operate this system with ease.
It’s been over two months since Ron and his Team installed our system. I am so pleased with it — two thumbs up and five stars! We enjoy it more and more each day. My wife can be «jazzing it up» in the house and I can be «rocking out» in the backyard — and all so easy to control with our iPhones!
We can’t say enough about the system that Ron designed for us and the professionalism that Ron and his Team exhibited throughout this whole process. We highly recommend First Reflection Audio Video.

Ron did an excellent job in designing our audio-​visual system. We recently moved to a smaller home with limited living rooms space. We recently had him put in our 3 zone Sonos. We never felt pressured into purchasing anything… Ron is really not an up-​seller. He actually takes a pretty minimal cut.
We have had the Sonos in for over a month now and it works perfectly! We were a bit concerned about the installation and how all of the wireless would work with Sonos, but Ron put us at ease. He totally knows what he is doing and put in a great system for us. WE LOVE IT!

We installed new cabinets in our Den and Jerry Archer-​Valet Cabinets highly recommended Ron Jones Owner of First Reflection Audio for installation of our components. We contacted Ron and Ron collaborated with Jerry in designing our Cabinets for our components. Our components were old and quite frankly the prior installation was extremely poor. Ron came to our home and reviewed our existing platform and developed a sound system and explained to us «layman’s «terms his recommendation, which absolutely made sense. He presented to us very fair terms for equipment, installation fee’s etc. We scheduled a date for installation. Ron not only met but exceeded our expectations. His attention to detail, intellectual capital and work ethic is «over the top». Ron is an absolute perfectionist and it is evident he loves what he does but more importantly is only goal is exceeding our expectations. Once the components were installed, he explained with great patience how to operate the user friendly system he developed and made sure before he left we knew how to operate, troubleshoot etc. Ron integrity, knowledge and attention to detail is a rare commodity in today world !!!

I just re-​read Ron’s outstanding Unilocal reviews and confirm from my own First Reflection experience that they are accurate and not hyperbolic. Ron has an audiophile passion for his work. I concur that he is diligent, meticulous, technologically competent, a good communicator, pleasant and even-​tempered. Like others my expectations were not only met but exceeded. In short, same guy, same outcome.
In my case I wanted to upgrade to current technology using my mature 5 speakers and a new Hsu sub-​woofer, a new Smart TV, Yamaha AV Receiver and Blue-​ray player. I wanted the whole thing to be controlled by a single remote that my wife could use. I was looking for someone to wire and program the system to fully optimize the systems potential. My entertainment system was update 20 years ago and despite some internet research I was not fully prepared for the implications for updating to the 21^st century. I was to learn that the new remote devise required several hours of custom programming and my «cable» system was to be converted to Ethernet. What did all this mean? Thus began my odyssey into the technological unknown.
I naively purchased all my new equipment and cables prior to finding a «designer/​installer». I would have benefited from talking to Ron first. There are somethings to consider before you purchase new equipment. Connecting everything is really an art and requires quality cables of appropriate length. When reviews say Ron is meticulous they are talking about what he does behind your equipment. What goes on behind your equipment can either compromise or enhance the capabilities of your equipment. I have seen other professional installations whose work looks like finger painting compared to Ron’s art; he is down right compulsive and that’s a good thing. I love my Yamaha but Ron is more familiar with the equally outstanding Marantz Receivers which would have presented fewer installation challenges. Nevertheless Ron proved persistent in puzzling out the less familiar Yamaha although it made me unnecessarily nervous a couple of times. I was also introduced to Sonos which is essential if you wish to take full advantage of your CD collection you import to you Computer. You also get to listen to any radio station in the World. I would be remiss not to mention the need to have a specialist convert your cable connection at the entertainment center to the previously mentioned Ethernet connection which require devices at your computer and behind your TV. The whole business is so much more than wiring component and very esoteric.
If this all sounds complicated I assure you it is. I was present for the entire installation of my entertainment system and was impressed with all that went into the custom program of the highly sophisticated remote control and meticulous wiring of my components. In the end you get a remote with a touch screen with in my case 3 options; Cable TV, Blu-​ray and SONOS (all my music and radio). Touch the screen once and all interrelated devices are «ON» The remaining command are no more complicated that a cable remote. It was easy enough that my wife who rarely touched our previous collection of devices was comfortable learning the new remote immediately. Most importantly the quality of sound coming from my old speakers is better than ever and beyond my expectations. The Ethernet connections is cleaner and more reliable than WiFi and produces brilliant sound and pictures. If you wish to go this final step you will need the services of a pro.
I write this review to commend and recommend Ron Jones as an exceptional professional who will get maximum performance out of your system. I feel that with his craftsmanship my old speakers and new components are providing me the best sound given their capabilities. I look forward to years of enjoyment and expanded entertainment and educational experiences.

First Reflection should be your go to source for planning and executing a home theatre installation. Ron, the owner, is knowledgeable and integrates that knowledge with what you are trying to accomplish in setting up an entertainment center. He excels at communicating information and follows up in implementing your plan. And for all this excellence he is fairly priced. I highly recommend First Reflection for your audio/​visual needs.

I called First Reflection based on the positive reviews and was not disappointed. My dad needed someone to troubleshoot an issue with his home theater audio before he left town at the end of the week, and he was already jaded by the original contractor who did the install and did a poor job. I called a few listings but Ron got back to me promptly and was pleasant, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. He squeezed us into his schedule for a couple days later and got everything resolved perfectly and quickly so now my dad’s home theater sounds the way it should. I would definitely highly recommend Ron for both install and troubleshooting. It was a great experience working with him!

Home Theater setup can be fairly complicated these days. All I knew is that I wanted it done correctly so that my system would be fully optimized. Ron Jones, the owner of First Reflection Audio Visual came to my home to discuss setting up a new TV, A/​V Receiver, Blue Ray player, and universal remote. I wanted to utilize my existing home theater and «zone 2» speakers.
Ron had great suggestions on A/​V equipment and provided a detailed estimate of what the project should entail. He quickly earned my confidence with his knowledge and he was amazingly responsive in answering questions and revising the scope of work as I requested. Once we had a plan, it took about a week to gather the equipment and get the installation scheduled. Ron stayed in touch and I felt fully updated along the way.
Ron worked diligently for an entire day to install my system. He’s meticulous and really dialed things in to get the absolute most out of the system. He provided initial training and then returned a few weeks later to answer our remaining questions and add the few enhancements to our remote control device. I’m glad I used First reflection Audio Visual for Home Theater installation, and I highly recommend them for your project.

Almost a year ago I contacted Ron at First Reflection AV to get some AV design guidance and advice, before installing some custom cabinets. The goal was to build a whole home audio system that included: speakers in seven rooms, two TVs, satellite radio, a 700+ CD collection, a Playstation, Nintendo Wii, two DVD players, and DirecTV. And of course the various inputs needed to operate independently in each room or «zone».
Without question, this was a BIG job. Not only did it include installation, but purchasing equipment, designing the system, and minor electrical/​cabling work. The best thing I ever did was to have the system designed BEFORE construction started on the custom cabinets. The second best thing I did was to hire Ron. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to help make the dream a reality.
Ron was sensitive not only to my budget, but in making sure I got the best value for money. That meant giving guidance on when it made sense to spend the extra $x for one model of speakers over another, and when not to. I never felt I was being railroaded into a particular purchasing decision. I particularly appreciated the fact that I was able to source my own equipment in order to get the cheapest on the market. I didn’t do it for every piece of equipment, but there were certainly some items I wanted to buy on my own. Many contractors won’t let you do this but Ron was great about it.
The only downside is that the electrical contractor that Ron was using at the time was an absolute scuzball, ruining 100+ year old wood floors, putting holes in walls in places we hadn’t agreed, leaving food, trash and dirt all over the house, and grossly underestimating the job. The guy was a total piece of work. So much so, that if this review included the electrical work, it would barely get one star. That said, Ron bent over backwards to put things right, even though it was the subcontractor electrician who screwed up, hence the five stars. Since my job, Ron no longer uses this subcontractor. Thank God.
I highly recommend Ron. If you’re thinking of any kind of AV system in your home, a few pieces of advice:
1. Hire Ron.
2. Get Ron to do your design BEFORE you start building or buying anything. You’ll save money in the long run.
3. If you’re doing renovations or a new build, get Ron in there when the walls are open. It will save you money when it comes time for installation. Even if you’re not sure of your design, you can get speaker and other cabling run.
4. You don’t HAVE to use a licensed electrician for MOST of the work, depending on your design. If it’s simply running speaker cable through your house, that only takes a handyman with decent skills. If you’re adding circuits, doing anything on a panel, or upgrading services, that’s another ball of wax that will require an electrician.
5. For your electrical components, give Ron MORE room that you think you’ll need. Not only do all those electronics heat up like summer in Death Valley, but you want to give Ron plenty of room to work his magic.
Ron is meticulous and is great at communicating everything through the entire process. I couldn’t be happier with the final result.

Ron Jones runs a very professional shop. He is meticulous in his work, even with exact placement of A/​V system components to obtain optimum results. He works hard and puts in the time necessary to meet his own very high standards. It was important to us that Ron handled all aspects of our A/​V package. He designed it, obtained and installed all the equipment, tested the system and then provided training for its use. He knows his stuff.
