Dillards

Went to the children’s shoes area today at 2:30. The guy working there tossed the shoe measure on the ground for my toddler to step on. Didn’t come to us. Looked at trash on the ground and didn’t pick it up. Didn’t bend down to read the numbers or make sure his heel was all the way back. Gave sizing that «should» be correct. Came back with shoes and gave me the box then disappeared. The shoes didn’t fit and he was gone. As we were leaving he came out and said nothing to us. I addressed him in a nice tone telling him he was not very helpful. He smirked at me. We left without buying the Stride Rite washable sneakers that we went into that store specifically to buy for when we go hiking and playing in dirt.
We then went to Stride Rite in the mall. They kindly measured his feet, got down to floor level to make sure his foot was in the foot measure and talked to me about sizing even though they didn’t have anything my son wanted due to low stock because their store is going out of business.

So I returned a 200 $ pair of boots to customer service on my debit card and I was told it would be available right away or within 24 hours well it’s been 5days and my money has not been put back on my card. I called my bank and they said Dillard’s hasn’t released the payment yet an there’s nothing pending. I called Dillard’s and they are telling me it’s Should have been available right away but that it’s my bank! Wtf is going on here?? They are so quick to take your money but not to give it back. They have no option to get cash back with your receipt if you used a debit card! Only to return it to my card. I’m going to wait couple more days and see what happens and then I’m
Going to raise holy hell!

When you need a good shirt that is tailored to fit, this is where I prefer to come. The styles, colors, and quality are always good and dependable.
You can find sales in many stores, but you will get what you pay for. I enjoy the fact that they have just what you need when you need it; as always and as before.

.Bought a sport coat, needed to return it due to misfit. Craig from men’s dept. couldnt be more helpful. Was ‘Nordstrom’ level professional with me and gave me all the options including full refund. maybe this gentlemen is an exception, but I must give credit where credit is due.

Dillards carries some quality items if you’re looking to spend a little. It’s not a budget department store. It’s not «Nieman» quality but it’s decent.
They are buying first round merchandise in some of the clothing departments. It’s worth taking a stroll through.

Stay far away from this store. They have a rip off policy in customers trying to return items. I bought a «Antonio Melani» purse for $ 167.30 without tax. I try to return the purse for a refund of my monies and the clerk told me that I have only the sales tag of purchase on the purse but no paper recipte.
She said the store policy is they can only give me a $ 25. dollar credit for this expensive bag. I was appalled at how Dillards has the gall to steal from it’s customers. It time Dillards goes out of business.
I will never shop there again. I will stay with Nordstrom, because they have an excellent return policy with no sales slips.
Dillards is a cheap rip off store! Don’t shop there. Most of their stuff is cheap junk.

About a month ago I was shopping at Dillards Lakeline and walked over to the Lancome counter. I approached a lady who was a regular and asked her a question about a Lancome product not knowing she was waiting on someone else. She became unglued and tore into me. I never noticed she was waiting on another person otherwise I would had patiently waited until my turn. Her lack of poise and tact regarding this matter was astounding. I would think they would have better customer service training there. After she chewed me out, she was running around and laughing about it to the other clerks. I could not determine if she had mental health issues, an L.D. or lack of customer service training but it was very unpleasant so much so, that I currently have taken my business to Macys and Nordstrom Lancome.

Dillard’s lake line mall watch counter at 12−1pm today, less than promising customer service this woman was insulting and dismissing. If this is what Dillard associates is trained to do then they will wind up like sears.
Management be aware of your associates attitudes.

Honestly, I’ve found this to be a solid establishment. Sure, there’s a little pomp and prissy-​ness here, but it can all be forgiven if I can actually find something that I like. And that does happen here at Dillards — as opposed to Macy’s, Kohl’s, JCPenney, and god forbid, Sears. The difference seems to be in 1) the quality of clothes 2) the variety of designers and 3) they seem to bring in more new things. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve gone into Macy’s or Kohl’s to find the same old crap that’s been hanging around for nearly forever — what a waste of time.
Additionally, on many occasions, there have been helpful employees around. Today, for example, we were greeted by employees three times but not pressured in any way. One older sales lady up in petites helped my Mom and I out considerably from interview attire ideas, to dressing room to purchase. I also enjoy going to the Lancome makeup counter where there’s a very nice girl who is always helpful. Someone there sends out their thank you for signing up for their sales stuff at the Lancome counter and they have gorgeous handwriting, very chic.
All in all, I have had mostly decent experiences here — four stars it is.

Boisterous Female Employee: «I’ve only got seven thousand in sales.»

Frightened customer: *quickly walks towards exit*
Male Employee: «Well, there’s still time before y…»
Boisterous Female Employee: «I should just go home. I’m outta here!» *stomps off*

The Wife: «Yeah… Someone probably needs to be fired.»
We did uncomfortably learn a lot about the pressure for sales numbers here. Sadly, we wanted to learn about beds instead.
You stay classy, Dillards Furniture Department…

Came to return a dress for my daughter. I approached a staff member who returned my approach with neither a smile nor a friendly word. When it became obvious that her blank stare at me was her way of asking me what I wanted, I explained and she briskly took the dress from my hands without a word. We had all the proper documentation, so no problem with the return. Not bad service, just very unfriendly and unappreciative service. No reason to shop here when there are so many other options.

The only reason for this post is because I had to come here for an exchange and it took me over an hour! A freakn huge department store and it took forever.
I was literally sent to 4 different counters… all in the women’s dept. it’s not like I was returning a dress in the kids or men’s dept. and at every counter there was no one to be found. I had. To walk around to find someone (and you can’t tell who was working or a shopper)
Finally at the 4^th counter there was a huge line, but I waited. 2 employees walked by and chatted with the sales person for leisure conversations, but never thought that they could maybe help out. Found out the person in front of me and the person behind me also got the same crappy treatment by the entire women’s dept.
The sales rep was apologetic and I told her she doesn’t need to be, because you are the only person working and working hard at helping people.
Too many dept stores in the mall for me to ever, I mean ever shop at Dillard’s again. Even if they have sales, I will never come back bc the crappy service I received.

We LOVE Dillards. on the hunt for Kitchen Aid Gadgets and anything on clearance. You can actually find some good deals if you look hard enough… some great deals on Calphalon if your in the market… Everyone is always friendly and very helpful…

We found some good deals today. They usually wait too late in the season for markdowns, but we got lucky today. Their selection was good, as usual. I’m so glad that they still have a children’s shoe department and that they carry youth sizes. Too many places stop at youth size 2.

The place was closing in half an hour, when Mom and I decided to pop-​in real quick to take a gander at the competition. I was more concerned with the reactions to my American Idol prediction that were coming on my Facebook. A Houston friend reminded me I had accurately chosen Lee DeWyze last year, and in the preliminaries at that. She’s always said he owes me a sexual favor or two as a debt of gratitude for the karma I put out there, with a reach-​around as interest for his year-​long delinquency. I couldn’t agree more, but I don’t know how I’d go about collecting that debt. I bet it’d be fun though.
Our first stop was the BCBG Max Azria section for Mom to show me outfits she thought were so cute, but were way too young for her. She was right. The dresses were cute, cuter than most of the stuff I’ve seen at Dillard’s, but clearly out of her demo. The salesgal was perky and had a lot of positive vibes. It’s interesting to note she technically is not part of the Dillard’s staff, but reports directly to BCBG. I found this out when I went to inquire about a different size for a Buffalo coat that would be perfect for the future sister-​in-​law, and she told me she didn’t have access to the system. She referred me to a different woman, who then said a third woman would help me. #3 looked at me like I was from another planet when I asked her to phone Barton Creek and see if they had a size small. It was either a «You want me to place a call?» look, or a «Honey, if you’re trying to cross dress, at least get your size» look. While the jacket was unavailable, I did appreciate her checking.
Upstairs in the ladies dresses, we found the same Diane Keaton dress (funnily enough, not on sale as it was at Macy’s), and I encouraged Mom to just try the damn thing on to see if it even fit correctly. Yes, I realize it’s not your style. Yes, I realize it won’t «WOW» the room. Yes, I realize you’ll never, ever in a million years ever wear it again after the wedding. Just do it for Chrissakes. She also couldn’t resist grabbing a bejeweled light turquoise dress that was way more her speed.
While she tried things on, I sat down outside the dressing room in a comfortable chair while reading a surprisingly current issue of Lucky magazine. In between perusing an article about Heidi Klum, the friendly Asian saleswoman asked me point blank: «Is that your mama?» When I responded ‘Yes”, she nearly fainted and said «Your mama is so beautiful! I would never have known! She looks so young!». I know. I mean look at me: she get it from her mama.
Mom stepped out in the Diane Keaton suit to a barrage of compliments, most of which I’m sure was sending her ego into the stratosphere… but she wouldn’t have it any other way. I ALSO get that from my mama. I thought it was really sweet, because the saleswoman wasn’t doing the usual transparent ass-​kissing routine, she really was genuinely nice. It was refreshing.
Of course, Mom looked about as comfortable in that mother of the groom look as I would in Wranglers at a sober country-​and-​western line dancing class. When she put on the «fun» dress she was bouncing around and smiling, per usual. I can understand. It *was* way more her style, but just for S&G. Not a wedding.
She asked if I wanted to do a double-​check for some orange down in the men’s. For a split second, we both forgot the boys got their own store on the other side of the mall (like, a long time ago). Anyways, I told her that except for our new fan in the dresses, it was clearly half-​past-​get-​the-​hell-​out time for the rest of the store anyway.
This is a solid Dillard’s. Most of it’s a blur to me, since the men’s isn’t around anymore. I do know the staff was nice this go around, and Mom still laments the loss of Royce, her makeup gay who has since left the company.
Sadly, I don’t think we’re any closer to solving this wardrobe crisis. My continued involvement revolves around two things: 1.) How much merchandise I can be bribed with to continue my style-​lackey duties; and 2.) If we get to go to stores I would have no chance in the world to Unilocal otherwise.
I think that’s only fair.

This Dillards has decent ho wear. Wait, is that an oxymoron?
Really, tho, if I am looking for goin out, sexy, H.O.O.T. (that’s Husband Out Of Town) nite outfits, and Bebe has let me down, I come to Dillards. They have plenty of things to accentuate my ass… ets.
Now, what does it mean when your hubby, upon seeing you model your new hussy-​fits, suggests you get some Spanks? I think it means he’s rude and a buzzkill and we’ve been married tooooo looong. :(
