I found Dragonfly through Unilocal.All I can say is, believe the hype! These guys are professional, knowledgeable and honest. They replaced my entire A/​C unit today — gave me a very fair price and did a great job — all on time. James and his team are just really nice people.

Had a water drainage problem. Called at 3:00 and they arrived at 4:30 and fixed the problem by 5:00. Will definately use again. Jim was professional and experienced.

I will skip the horrible company that left me without AC for over a month to talk about the great service we received with this company. I mean same day install great!
First, they send you an email with a picture of the person who is coming and their experience so no door surprises. The person who answers the phone can tell you when they are coming and all to expect. Second when they arrive they show themselves to be who they say they are and again tell you up front what they can and can’t do. This is wonderful as you get a person that CAN fix it not just someone to tell you whats wrong with it. Once the work begins you know exactly in writing what your cost will be. They are fast, professional and actually care about their customers. When the new A/​C unit was installed, with SAME DAY SERVICE I was floored! I couldn’t believe any company could work that fast and efficient without it costing me mortgage payment. We even received an email with a picture of the completed work!
I will only deal with this company for my AC and other needs from here on out. I have ditched my lousy home «warranty» and will deal on with Dragon Fly.

I needed an entire system replaced, A/​C and furnace. Called AccuTemp and got a verbal budget number over the phone from Steve. Once I was ready to move forward Steve came out to confirm his final bid. Even though my old system would require climbing through the attic to run new electrical wires, Steve stayed within his budget number. Steve, Tina and his crew are true professionals and you won’t be disappointed with this company. I couldn’t be happier.

I neglected to post this when I first had Dragonfly perform my AC service. We booked the spring check at the time and I was reminded of my need to post a review. Five stars says I love these guys and the service they provide — but there’s more to it. I love the price, the honesty, the information they provide at time of service and the feel of dealing with someone you believe is honest in how they do business. I’ll be a repeat customer for a long, long time. Thank you, Dragonfly.

SO AWESOME! James is great. After responding to a late-​night report first thing the next morning, he arrived and promptly pointed out the issue. But rather than charging us $ 300 to bring a crew out, he explained to me how to fix it, as it was a ridiculously simple code issue which should only cost us a less than $ 10 trip to Home Depot. We will continue to use Dragonfly for all of our heating and cooling needs!

James is fantastic. In an industry where flakes rule supreme, you can depend on him to be timely, accurate and honest. When another company disappeared after making the initial diagnosis, James brought a team of guys to replace the evaporator coil (in the attic) and completed the job in less than 90 minute. He made a mistake and came back to fix it within an hour of my calling to inform him. He apologized profusely. Then, this week (three weeks later) my a/​c started blowing hot air again. I thought it was the same problem but it was the compressor capacitor. He came out 10 minutes before our appointment, fixed it in 15 minutes and since he felt bad about the previous mistake he did not charge me a dime.
I would highly highly recommend Dragonfly.

We called James today for an emergency AC repair… Because Texas in August means EVERY AC repair is an emergency.
James got here quickly, and in about 3 minutes was able to diagnose the problem (bad capacitor)… and then he had it fixed in about another 3 minutes.
He then went the extra mile and cleaned the system, checked the refrigerant levels, replaced valves and caps… everything that I SHOULD have been on top of, but never think about.
Bottom line: fast, efficient repairs, cool house, working AC, better sleep tonight. That means FIVE STAR REVIEW.

James is awesome. A super pleasant, professional, positive human being running a great company. I called him around 10 am and due to a cancellation he was able to come to my house right away and get my AC running in just about an hours time, literally. Hes super knowledgeable and thorough and will give you his honest opinion. I am a renter and therefore not well seasoned in home repair, but I made the right choice with Dragonfly Mechanical. Definitely recommend calling James and having the Mothership come to your house!

James was great to work with. I don’t know anything about A/​C but I do know a thing or two about honest people. His reputation speaks for itself. He was able to come out on short notice and had the parts on hand to get me back up and running. None of this I will be back later with the part. He understood my need to get as much life out of my aging system and did not attempt to up sell me into a new unit. When my system finally goes down for the count. I will buy a new system from James. He understands the way to build a faithful customer base it to treat each person with honesty and integrity. Thanks James.

The rep who came out to assess my AC system was very courteous and seemed knowledgable, but the visit ended up costing more than double what I was quoted on the phone. He performed work (cleaning) without asking me first, leading to an almost $ 300 bill when my understanding was I was just paying for an estimate and the cost/​time it took to add freon to my system.
I’m not very happy about this, especially since the prognosis was that I need to replace the entire thing ASAP. Why clean it then? It doesn’t make any sense to service a system you recommend replacing — particularly without my agreement — and now I am out several hundred dollars, plus the cost of the new system. Very dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend these guys — I will be using someone else for the replacement work. I called and spoke to the owner about my concerns and he said he’d look into it and get back to me but didn’t.

There’s a reason you’ll likely never see a negative review of Dragonfly Mechanical. James and his crew goes WAY out of their way for you. I first met James when a friend told me about him when I was in a bind. My A/​C wasn’t working and it was HOT outside. In Central Texas that means a major catastrophe! James said they were super busy, but the dude showed up two hours later on a weekend, his wife in the van while he fixed my unit enough to get it going and then went on out on their date night. Seriously. He came back and did the full repair later that week.
We had another repair issue and he replaced a part a few years later. Fast forward to last week and our A/​C was acting up, making loud noises. I was sad because I knew that meant we probably needed a new unit. It was old.
And… yes. New unit needed. They arrived by 9am and were gone by 1pm, having replaced the A/​C unit, the furnace, redid the decking and all kinds of stuff. I also thought we needed our duct work replaced, but he came by the day before and told me it was in good shape, but the seams were all busted. He just needed to get the guys up there and seal it up and we would no longer be doing such a great job of air conditioning our attic. So, it came out cheaper than he originally quoted.
Honest. Trustworthy. Just a plan good guy. And he cares about his work. Did I mention the man has amazing customer service skills? Maybe because he cares, not only about his work, but about his customers. It makes this girl’s heart sing with joy to have someone that truly cares.
Plus it’s super cool that his work van says «Mothership» on the side. Heh. Okay, maybe I’m just a dork like that.
No one will EVER touch my HVAC unit in my house again. Ever.

Just had a great experience with James Moore of Dragonfly Mechanical. I called him yesterday (Sunday) to see if he could help me with a clogged A/​C drip pan drain line. He returned my call promptly and made me his first service call this morning. He showed up precisely when he said he would, and he had the problem fixed in no time. He was friendly and personable with an easygoing vibe. He even kept his cool when my psychotic dog nipped his ankles a couple times. And the best part? He charged me his normal service call fee, but didn’t didn’t charge me for his time since he was only here for about 10 minutes. Five stars… will definitely call James again when I need HVAC services.

Great service. AC was on the blink on Sunday and after our call he was at our house within 2 hours… on a Sunday. Slept much better since otherwise our upstairs bedroom would have been about 85 degrees.

James is fantastic! I called last week and he was completely booked that day. He was able to come the following day though and showed up promptly at our door before 8:30am. He called at 7:50am to let me know he was on the way.
I don’t know a thing about air conditioning repair, but he diagnosed and fixed the problem in around an hour. He also helped replace our filter that we couldn’t reach.
He is professional and personable. He was great with our little puppy too.
