Established in 1988.

Goju Kenpo is a practical system for the modern world, While honoring the boundaries of tradition. GKX teaches seven traditional styles that create one practical and efficient form of self-​defense. Movements and techniques that are quickly learned and applied using intuitive body movements and functional motor skills.

Business Owner

The head instructor; a 3rd degree black belt in Goju Kenpo and has several black belts in different styles, Don-​e has been in the martial arts for over 30 years, with a love for practical self-​defense and fitness. As the head instructor, Don-​e believes that martial arts should be fun, and challenging at the same time. No one wants to go to a class where a sensei is constantly yelling at you and making you feel intimidated. GKX is a safe environment and a healthy learning platform for any lifestyle, whether the student has autism, ADHD, is being bullied or shy, or or someone who just wants a good workout and likes the art. Don-​e doesn’t believe in belt factories; this is a system where you have to put in work to make the system work for you. Although we don’t want any student failing a test, Learning the art is more important than giving someone a belt just to make them happy. It will be worth the work! And this just isn’t for students adults and seniors love GKX just as well!

My six year old attends martial arts class here and we love it! The classes are always different and the instructor is fantastic with kids and keeping them engaged.
They also host amazing birthday parties. My son just had his sixth birthday at GKX and all the kids are still talking about it. They were very accommodating and set up a Jedi training for my Star Wars loving son. The Jedi training obstacle course was a huge hit, but the highlight was definitely the Jedi training events. The instructor went above and beyond to keep the kids laughing and entertained. It was also one of the best and easiest parties that I have ever hosted. They took care everything! I just had to bring a cake and any snacks that I wanted to serve.
I can’t say enough positive things about GKX. Highly recommend this place.

GKXtreme is an outstanding facility with truly incredible instructors. There is an instant sense of community and hospitality. They are constantly striving for the best ways to teach as well as to constantly learn. «Teach once, learn twice,» I have heard often in this facility. They care enough to happily share their path of martial arts. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

GKX is an awesome studio and great place to train with passionate martial artists. I’ve been a student of Don-​e and Serenity Harris for several years now and they have help me grow immensely with my fitness and martial arts goals. I am a member of their Black Belt Honors program, which gives me unlimited classes and discounts on store merchandise. Following Don-e’s diet recommendations I’ve lost over 50 pounds. I attend his fitness classes 4 times a week and they have help me prepare for my races and events. With the weight loss and fitness that I now have from working with Don-​e, I will be participating in over 20 endurance events and races this year alone. This is just a little of what they have done for me, I have never met any teacher or instructor that works so well with children.

Great fitness class for adults. I’m really motivated to keep coming to class, my whole body is getting stronger and fitter in just two months. The classes are for all fitness levels. And by the way, my kids love the children area.

My 4 year old son is enrolled and we love it. He’s learning important life skills in class. The instructor is fantastic at engaging the kids. The facility itself is very nice. The play area and iPads are great for little brother too. Highly recommend this place.

My 3 kids all attend GKX, and we love it! It is a very family-​oriented, friendly atmosphere. The instructors are awesome with my kids, and my kids look forward to going every week. Not only are they learning martial arts, but also discipline, patience, respect, etc. 5 stars!

I’m not knowledgeable about any particular martial art but I bought a 2-​classes-​per-​week membership at GKX and have been extremely impressed so far. I’m not used to karate studios but general décor of this place has a peaceful vibe and is well appointed. The men’s locker room was way nicer than any I’ve seen at various fitness gyms, and having a Nintendo Kinect doesn’t hurt either as it gives my son something aerobic and fun to do while I’m in class. These might explain why the price is a little higher than what I found surveying around the area. Regardless, the owners’ attitude and customer service are sold me on the place.
The manager, Serenity, is very accommodating and gave me a follow up call 2 weeks after I had signed up to ensure I was aware of their offerings and had all my questions answered. The master instructor, Donnie, has contagious energy and has shows great attention to detail in his instruction, most impressive of which (to me) are his explanations of simple things, i.e. why certain positions are useless/​ful, what practical things we should be gaining from a particular exercise (some had weird names like «ragdoll»), how to focus the eyes and avoid surprise to maximize your chance to counter-​strike in those precious first 2 – 4 seconds of a fight, etc… His presentation and philosophy are very convincing and I’m sold that, while I may never be nearly as effective as he is in a fight, I will have the confidence and tools to defend myself if the time came.
I can’t compare it to much, but I can tell you it’s a very solid start for me, an athletic person, but a beginner in the martial arts.

It doesn’t get better than this. It is that simple. This is my son’s 4th martial arts studio and my first.
The instructors are so good that instead of having just my son join, I had to join as well. We spend every day here working out, becoming closer to one another, and getting more fit.
This is the studio you want you or your kids to go to hands down. No long contracts, No point scoring tournament striking training. Real world, real practical, real discipline.
This facility and this training staff are the best by leaps and bounds and our community just keeps on growing! I have never been happier in my life than I am right now with my family at GKX.

Our family attends GKX and we love it! My kids are learning so much. The instructors do a great job of teaching martial arts skills and traditions while also keeping it fun and exciting. My husband is so happy to once again train in martial arts and truly believes in the philosophies this school is built on. I am attending the fitness class and am thrilled to already see results.
