Staff is very friendly and checks in on you numerous times. The fan might have been broken because it was pretty muggy inside and you can see a layer of the smoke from the kitchen. There was a man on the phone calling about a electrician to come out and then he sounded like he was getting mad at someone in the restaurant… made me really uncomfortable. But the food is good, I got the Tom Kha which was really fresh.

Go here for the FOOD! Very tasty and very well priced. As B R S posted in his review, the inside needs work and the service can be slow, but we go here regularly for family dinners and to entertain guests, and have been doing so regularly since 2013. Highly recommended.

THEGOOD ~ GREATTHAIFOOD! Very tasty food & affordable too! THEBAD ~ The inside needs a major facelift, booth seats are worn out, the men’s bathroom is repulsive & unacceptable! AND please fix the air conditioning… THEUGLY ~ poor service, so not Texas friendly THEBOTTOMLINE ~ The food? Yummy, tasty! Not a place I would take a date or celebrate a special occasion. Prices are fair… Did I mention the food is very good and tasty!

I came here prior to a Stars game. My buddy had moved to Lockhart and mentioned getting Thai food wasn’t as easy as before. I found this place and saw it had middle of the road reviews. It was pretty dead on that night and only a couple of people working. Was it bad? Not really. Was it memorable? Not really.

This place is so low key but so so good. The decorations are nice and the servers are great. The only weird thing is the white guy who seems rude sometimes, but I think that’s just his personality. The food is great me and my sister love this place. Take out or dine in y’all gotta try it

Pad Thai was ok, yellow curry was better, fried tofu appetizer was so so and cheese rolls were decent. Ordered to go, was very fast, friendly, and polite. Will try again.

I ordered soft spring rolls with tofu & Panang curry with vegetables. The food is nothing great. The husband takes the orders on the phone & seats people. I walked in & waited to be seated. He is loud on the phone when he is taking the orders. The wife cooks & the daughter runs in & out of the kitchen helping cook & take orders. No great customer service but the daughter is ver nice.

Well established family-owned place as it has been open for quite sometime. However, to stay relevant, they really should consider a re-model. Everthing just seems stale and dingy. the atmosphere just screams for a update. Their food and service is consistently good… nice people, but with all the other Asian food options popping up, I haven’t choosen to eat here as of late just because it’s dirty and old… just slide one of their booth cushions a bit, and you’ll find some very disturbing items in there that look like they’ve been in there since they opened. No, I did not do this on purpose. One of them slide out as I was sliding out of my booth. I don’t make a habit of inspecting places to this degree… just stumbled upon it.

i love these guys, i really do — they are above-and-beyond friendly and the food is phenomenal! i used to work right around the corner and stop in all the time, and i had forgotten about this place completely until i had a hankering for pad thai last night. i called in an order to go, my boyfriend and i chose to split the crispy red snapper with the chile and garlic sauce, and then chicken pad thai and an order of two shrimp soft spring rolls. we picked up a bottle of wine on the way and it was ready when we got there. we got home and just. wow. perfect. i was surprised how crispy the snapper was considering we picked up the food to go. so delicious, perfect level of heat(two stars), and a generous helping. pad thai was awesome as always, plenty of peanuts and chicken, great flavor. i might ask them if they could make the pad thai one or two stars spicy cos it is definitely tailored to a western palette right now, but in cedar park that is completely understandable. only downside was that my boyfriend chose a mystery dumdum from their candy bowl and it ended up being butterscotch! blech! ;D

Decent food. Gross bathrooms. Nearly impossible to enjoy your food after walking in there. When i say gross it is at the dive bar level. O.M.G.

The curries are pretty good. Gaeng Kieow Waan(Green curry) is tears running down eyes and nose spicy. It was a bit much for me to be honest. I toned it down and usually alternate between Panang and Gaeng Mussaman. If you want something mild or new to thai curries, Mussaman is probably the best to start off with followed by Yellow curry and then adjust based on your preference. The safety dish when you don’t know any of the dishes– the Pad Thai was okay, I’ve definitely had better. I’ve tried the soup Tom Kha which had quality ingredients and all, I just don’t think I’m into that type of flavor. The portions are great. I can usually get a full meal with some leftovers and the prices are appropriate. The service has been good every time I’ve been there which has been plenty since there wasn’t any Thai restaurant near here with the same price point and without getting on 183.

If you’re looking for a tasty and cheap Thai place for lunch, this is it. I had the Mussaman curry(yellow), which was just $ 6.5 for lunch, and came with a small egg roll and my choice of soup/salad. The egg roll was nothing special, although not bad, but I didn’t like the soup. It was Tom Kha, which I’ve never had before, so I don’t have any reference for comparison, but it tasted a bit sour to me. Didn’t get past a couple of sips. The curry on the other hand, was delicious, and there was plenty to fill me up. The potatoes were fully cooked and everything just came together really well, although I don’t think I’ve ever had bad yellow curry, it’s my favorite. Personally, I wouldn’t bother using the Asian style soup spoon that it comes with — that’s just going to slow you down. Food came pretty quick, and the service was nice. Very happy with the experience and I imagine I’ll be back soon for yet another lunch.

Good food. Quick service. Perfect portion size for lunch. Extremely affordable prices. What’s not to like about Tamnak Thai? This restaurant will stay on my «I’ll be back list» for a couple of reasons.: 1) Right next door is Sidelines Grill. When I’m working the day shift, I play poker at Sidelines. And the food at Sidelines really sucks. A matter of fact, I won’t write a review of Sidelines because I enjoy playing poker there and the people who work there are nice. But the food next door sucks. So I’ll eat here at Tamnak Thai. Then I’ll head next door to play poker. 2) I had a really good lunch here today, the service was quick, the portion size was perfect and the price made me literally smile.

I was up in Cedar Park watching a free preseason Austin Aztex game. I wanted to try something new. For some strange reason I was craving rice noodles. I didn’t want to spend a whole lot of money. I decided to try this place out. It’s in a mini mall next to a sports bar. When I entered, there weren’t many people eating there. I was surprised not to hear the sports bar action next door. I guess you can say I’m an early eater or something like that. I decided to have the Pad See Ew with tofu and for dessert to have the coconut ice cream which were good.

Still sitting in my food coma here. W Alrighty, so 5 stars is virtually impossible to get from me. This came close. My dish was awesome, but my family had average things to say about their food. So it gets 4. I had the Panang Curry at a level of ** spicyness. The pepper symbol must not have been available when the menu was printed. It was AWESOME!!! Turns out that ** is too spicy for me, and I should have gone with *. I will do that next time, because I will be back! Family had sweet n sour chicken, pad Thai and something else. Again, all said average things. Not excellent but not bad. Mini egg rolls aren’t that great. But dang, I can’t stop thinking about that Panang Curry. So, should you go here? Yes! Should you get the Panang Curry? Yes!

This one is long overdue. Thamnak Thai is my «go to» place for a quick dinner. I LOVE the green curry and the red curry(slim pickings cos i’m a vegetarian) but its the bomb!(I mean literally, I’ve had tears streaming down my face after ordering it ‘spicy’) Be it take out or dine in, the service is always good and so is the food. It ain’t no fancy pants place — it’s family run, and that makes it even better. I have never had a bad experience here(considering i eat here at least twice a month) If you are passing by the area or if you live here, you absolutely have to try it out.
