Cerritos 2020 Optometry

Been a patient here for over a year. I’m very pleased with the care I have received. The doctors are thorough and professional.

Awesome place for eye care! Dr Fernando is very knowledgeable in detecting issues with the eye and I’m very glad she is keeping my low-​pressure glaucoma under control. She cares deeply about her patients and I even feel like more of a friend than a patient. The glasses dispensing department really help me with choosing just the right frame for me face, too. I love Cerritos 2020 Optometry!!!

This is the BEST optometrist office I have ever been to and I’ve been going to the optometrist for 40 years! The Doctors and staff are excellent. I LOVE MY glasses.

They go to great lengths to serve my family. I would recommend them to anyone needing eye care.

This place is very organized! Dr. Khamis was the eye doctor that attended to me. He’s a young guy with a very great sense of humor. It was like every other sentence was something funny. He’s a very nice, personable, and friendly doctor who educates you about the eye as the appointment goes. He also has really cool ties with glasses on them. Lol. The opticians are very knowledgeable and helpful as well. There is a wide selection of frames. It doesn’t feel like they’re trying to make money off of you. The doctor even said to me, «Will you be looking at frames today? Oh, sorry to assume if you’ll be getting them here.» The place looks very updated and new. The waiting area for the doctor is also very relaxing. It’s almost like going to the eye doctor is a treat!

Dr. Mallari was great! I’ve probably visited the eye doctor twice throughout my life before this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. She was extremely kind and very informative. She walked me through each process and explained what I was looking at and why my eyes acted a certain way. It was nice to walk out of there with a better understanding of my visual health (if that’s the correct term). Also, because I don’t really get my eyes checked I was a little apprehensive about the thought of someone poking at it. Have you guys ever watch that Friends episode of Rachel’s eye exam? Well, I would be Rachel. Luckily, Dr. Mallari was very careful and her outgoing personality put me at ease.
As for the rest of the staff, they were just as great. The first half of the appointment I was with Donna, who, by the way, got my reference to Friends. She was really nice too. The machines they use here are way more updated then the ones I remember. Granted I only had two eye exams before this, the last exam I had was just last year so hopefully that justifies this comparison.
Ernest was super great too! When I had to pick out my glasses he was really nice, patient, and had a keen eye for what would be a good fit for my face. I was a little overwhelmed when I saw all the selection, but he knew exactly what would look great. And as a side thought, it was nice to finally have a man be patient as you shop! Haha. I never felt rushed at all, even as other patients came in to see him.
All in all, it was was a great experience. This is probably the only doctors exam that I throughly enjoyed. Every other patient who walked in seemed like they were long time friends with the staff, and I can see just why. I highly recommend going here.

I had a good experience at this place. The optometrist was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and informative. The front office lady that helped me with frames gave me a similar experience.
I just found it odd that I was scheduled for an appointment without my knowledge. I finally went around to listening to my voicemail and noticed I received a few messages from the office asking to confirm my appointment. I thought to myself what appointment? Well anyway it was after the day/​time mentioned in the voicemail. Then I got a letter saying there’s a $ 30 cancellation fee which will be waved this first time? For an appointment I never made? And besides if I never called back to confirm my appointment, that should’ve clued them in that I will not be making it. Oh well, there’s dozens on optometrists in a 10 mile radius.
Now if I somehow forgot about an appointment that was scheduled at my last visit 5 months ago (early December ’15) then I apologize for the 3 stars. To anyone reading this, the visit was great but the scheduling left a bad taste.

We had such a great experience at Cerritos 2020 Optometry from start to finish! Warm ambiance and friendly staff! Dr. Khamis was so thorough and attentive to detail and made sure that all our questions were answered! Previously, I have had some mediocre experiences at eye doctors, but this experience was great. I brought my daughter to Cerritos 2020 in the last couple of weeks because she was squinting in class. Dr. Khamis was very thorough and great with my daughter. He took the time to get her the correct prescription. He also made the process fun for her and she enjoyed the visits. She tried on some cute frames and she seemed pretty happy about getting glasses. Now I have an appointment to see him to get my glasses updated. I would highly recommend the business and Dr. Khamis to anyone who needs an eye doctor.

I can’t say I’ve ever had a better experience with an optometrist than here at Cerritos 2020 today. Dr Khamis treated me, and I discovered that he is brand new to the group as of the last couple weeks. I received excellent service, from the moment I stepped into the door, and couldn’t be more grateful for everyone’s kindness!
The office space is clean and neat and organized, and the relaxing scent of diffused essential oils fills the place. I thought that was a particularly awesome detail.
Ernest helped me with picking frames and giving me insurance and financial advice; he was fun, personable, and relatable. I did not feel pressured into giving them more money, but truly felt like my needs were first.
Dr Khamis was amazing! I’ve never had a more thorough and educational exam. He literally walked me through every step, helping me understand what each exam was for and what it meant and how my vision and brain work together. He’s humorous, easy to talk to, and incredibly helpful. We even chatted about his upcoming wedding and how he and my husband agree that glasses are hot on their ladies, apparently. :P
I’m glad I followed the reviews here on Unilocal because they certainly represent my experience: 5 stars. Thank you Cerritos 2020, I will be back!

In again for some follow up work after some adjustments were made to my glasses and I should be back in about 3 weeks for those to be done. They are so helpful and easy to work with.

If anyone is looking for a place for your eye exam and glasses this is the place to go! In my 20+ years of wearing glasses and contacts n eye exams this was the most informative, thorough and awesome exam I have EVER received. Dr. Sharon Mallari is the best. You HAVE to come here! I was VERY impressed!

Great office! I went in for my first eye exam in 8 or so years and I was very impressed. They go through a comprehensive list of exam procedures to check for any issues, and they do a great job of explaining everything along the way.
I learned that I needed glasses and they have wide variety of frames to select from as well.
Also they have free coffee. I love free.

I have been with Cerritos 2020 optometry since I was in high school. It’s now been well over 30 years and my family and I have always enjoyed the utmost in personal care and service beginning with Dr. Darlene Fujimoto for so many years and now Dr. Fernando for the last few years. They are wonderful and no one will help you take care of your vision more than Cerritos 2020. They’re truly the best!

Doctor Mallari is the best she’s always very kind and helps you through your eye exam to understand everything from changes to your eye if any changes happened from previous years. I have been taking my children to this office for some years and she’s a great doctor. Doctor Mallari and the staff have exceptional service you can’t really go wrong if you decide to go to optometrist doctor Mallari and doctor Fernando are the best. There is always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere whenever I come here. Dr. Fernando is really helpful and answers any and all questions effectively. She also makes the effort to get to know you. She’s always looking out. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would go again (am going again)

I love this optometry office! I’ve been coming here ever since I was a kid. My entire family comes here because of their amazing service and awesome staff members! I would drive 30+ miles to make sure that I continue my service here.
Both Dr. Fernando and Dr. Mallari are amazing! They are super friendly, very professional and knowledgable, and they truly show compassion for their patients. I feel like I’m part of their family.
I’ve never had problems making an appointment, getting reminder calls/​texts for appointments, getting my frames for my glasses or contacts, and they are so flexible and accommodating. If you’re confused about your eye insurance coverage, they’ll explain everything to you and will help you figure out your best options to make sure you get the most out of your insurance coverage.

Well I thought I used to go to the best optometrist in Torrance and when I moved I still drove all the way out there. BUT THEN, someone recommended Dr. Fernando and I never looked back. From when you arrive to the exam to selecting new glasses, this is everything I could have hoped for. Dr. Fernando has remained so faithful in finding realistic solutions to my funky vision needs. I have never been disappointed. This is top notch service and the most thorough exam I have ever had from an optometrist. She is vested in you eye, body and mind health.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Dr. Mallari is awesome and holds a special place in my heart. =] You get a whole hour of her time where she will go through a very thorough exam, and will actually discuss what exactly she is looking for and what she sees while you go through the various contraptions. She’ll tell you what to look out for, and give little tips on eye health and ways you can keep your vision in tip top shape. Even during that awkward time when you’re really trying your hardest to choose between 1 and 2, Dr. Mallari walks you right through and makes the selection easy. That alone deserves 5 stars… no other doctor has done that!
