Interstate Auto Repair

After reading the reviews for this place I took my car there. I thought I needed new brakes and was fully expecting to be spending at least $ 300 that day. Shortly after dropping my car off I received a phone call from the shop explaining they found the source of the grinding sound and it was only going to cost $ 50! They said my brakes were fine! It’s so terrific to have a mechanic you can trust. Now I don’t take my car anywhere else, even for an oil change!

When it comes to auto mechanics, I generally never have anything nice to say. That is not the case with Keith, his wife, and the rest of the crew at Interstate Auto.
If you’ve ever experienced a dealership service center (or some other dishonest mechanic), you’re probably used to the BS/​false sense of urgency of replacing stuff you don’t need or have for ungodly amounts of money… that’s what happened to me. My Lexus dealer told me my brake pads were completely out and running down my rotors 6 MONTHS AGO! They then quoted me an obscene amount to replace them and told me if I didn’t act right then and there, the cost of damages would increase exponentially. They even told me I’d likely need to replace the rotors because there wasn’t enough room to remachine them… I took my car to two other shops, including Interstate. After inspecting my car, Keith personally called me to let me know I still had up to 30% pad left and did not recommend changing them out for another few months. Furthermore, remachining the rotors would be no problem because there was plenty of room left… when I asked how much the job would be, it was literally 25% the cost of what Lexus quoted me…
If your sick of dealership service centers or the typical a-​hole mechanic trying to nickel and dime you every chance you get, come visit the crew at Interstate (and at the very least, get a second opinion)…I’ll be a lifelong customer!

A very respectful and caring husband and wife team run this business and treat their customers with honesty and respect. There are no unnecessary repairs or scare tactics, they diagnose and repair accurately and honestly with fair prices.
Everyone recommends them, even other repair shops and auto body places. Definitely recommended for your repair needs.

First visit, this place seems great.
I’m so sick of scamming auto repair shops, I wish I was willing to write out the problems I’ve had with dishonest places but I’m sure you’ve seen it all too.
I needed a minor service and was looking for a new place in the area since I’ve had bad luck at other shops. They got me in same day, stayed within the timeframe they said they would and was very competitive on price. When I picked it up they didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t need, refreshing.
I think the gentleman who assisted me was the owner, Keith. He really seemed knowledgable, nice and honest.
I expect I will be back here again for the things I can’t do on my own.

I live in Pennsylvania and have 2 juniors at Arizona State university each with a vehicle.
I was looking for a place to have them serviced and couldn’t find a place in Tempe I was comfortable with. Most reviews didn’t seem to make the cut.
I came across some reviews for Keith and Interstate Auto that couldn’t say enough positive things about Keith and the workmanship.
After giving a call out to Keith and having a phone conversation with him. I couldn’t have felt more at ease. I sent my son in to have some work done and check out a few things suggested from another mechanic in Tempe.
Keith told me what I needed and didn’t need. As far as I’m concerned he was spot on. I know a little about vehicle repairs and Keith and his group were batting a 1,000.
I have both my kids take their cars down to Chandler. It’s worth the drive.
The work was quality and price was good couldn’t ask to be taken care of any better!

Honest, fair, reliable and friendly staff. What more can you ask for? :)

I stumbled across Interstate Auto Repair while searching for a mechanic that was within a few miles of our house, and I’m so glad I did! Keith and Mary have a great crew and they will definitely take care of you. They treat your car as if it were their own. I am now a customer for life.
The speedometer and gas gauge display on my 2010 Prius was out. I took it to Interstate and they spent several hours troubleshooting the problem. Keith said they could not fix the problem but referred me to a local speedometer/​tachometer shop. When I picked up my car Keith just handed me the keys. I asked how much and he said «No charge». I could not believe it! Most places charge a minimum of $ 50 for any diagnostic work. The place I was referred to did a great job and their prices were much lower than I expected.
A few weeks later I took in my 1997 Ford Ranger that had been acting up for a long time. It was sputtering during acceleration. I had taken it to some other shops and the problem would be fixed for a while but then ultimately come back. I told Keith that the problem was intermittent and to keep it as long as he needed. He drove my truck to and from work to catch the problem «in the act». I don’t know of any other mechanic who would go to that length to fix a vehicle. I’ve had my truck back for several weeks now and haven’t had one issue with it!
One last story. I recently dropped off my 2010 Prius for an oil change and tire rotation as we were getting ready for a road trip. I got a call from Mary a few hours later saying that the car was ready and she told me that they also replaced the air filter. When I arrived to pick up the car I could not believe the price: $ 43!!! Oil change, tire rotation and an air filter. We have paid more than that for just an oil change!

I was very pleased with the service and the cost of the repairs Keith performed on my BMW. It’s very difficult to find a great mechanic these days.
They performed the requested repair work as scheduled and what a great job. I will be taking my vehicles back to them for service and repair. I recommend them to anyone that needs automotive work done. I think they’re honest and fair.

This place is great, Keith and the lady at the desk are some of the nicest people ever and the go above whats expected to find the best and least expensive way to fix your vehicles. I have had my Maxima and my dad’s Explorer worked on here and fabulous job done on both, so I am taking the time to Unilocal this place because they are truly the best in the east valley

I am very satisfied with the service. I highly recommend this place. I have a 2010 Lexus LS 460L and they took care of a few things for the fraction of the cost of the dealer’s estimate. They gained my trust. Thanks.

Keith, his wife and employees deserve 10 stars. And I have evidence to back it up. We’ve all wasted money and have had bad to horrible experiences with mechanics and shops. That stops here at Interstate. I’m am so thankful I’ve found these people. They are honest and very courteous. I’ve had my car in several times and they’ve always been spot on with diagnosis and repairs and have never tried to upsell me. They have actually saved me money by telling me the repair wasn’t necessary and offered a better solution. I will never go anywhere else with my vehicles. Highly recommended

I am a young driver who recently purchased a vehicle. I had some trouble with the front end of my vehicle, all purely cosmetic. I walked in and that same day Mark checked out my car and sent me home driving. He was wonderful and so nice as was Mary at the front desk. I will definitely be bringing all my future business to Interstate!

This place is amazing. I bought a Land Cruiser, knowing it had issues, but Interstate Auto Repair not only made it right, but did so way under my estimate of what it would take. They are very good communicators about what they do, ethical and competent. I actually had fun coming to the mechanic to pick my car up.

I believe I found Keith’s place from online reviews, and now I’m writing one about them.
This place is seriously GREAT. Keith and everyone else I dealt with there were fantastic. I had the gal’s car at Firestone down the street, they charged me almost $ 100 just for a diagnostic, and Keith’s diagnostics are FREE.
What’s more, Firestone wanted to just go ahead and replace a mass air flow sensor ($ 600+) and Keith & co CLEANED it first, and noticed a vacuum leak that FIRESTONE COMPLETELY MISSED.
So, massive kudos to Keith & Interstate. Very trustworthy, honest, friendly, and patient. Your car is in excellent hands here.

Great job! I usually have a hard time with mechanics. Finding a good one, but it looks like I did! They were able to find my car’s leak they fixed it while I was out of town and they had a great price. I highly recommend them, I will be using them regularly for my car.

Interstate Auto was recommended by several friends. When I needed maintenance for my car I went to Interstate Auto. I am so grateful to have taken everyone’s advice. My experience was not unlike the other reviews here. They were trustworthy, fairly priced and the work was covered by a generous warranty. Thank you for reestablishing my trust in auto repair shops.

Keith and his guys are top notch! I have never felt trusting of a auto repair place not trying to rip me off. I know when I bring my car into Interstate Auto I will not be ripped off. I will be told what the best route to take on fixing the issue and always end up with great work!
This shop is about quality and true value. Wish he was closer to Gilbert but being so close off I-​10 does make Interstate Auto easy to get to. By the way the owner, Keith is a true all American family guy. Just look at all these 5 star reviews. How rare is that now a days for a Auto Repair business?

Keith and his crew are very attentive and help me out whenever I am in a bind, no questions asked they just get their tools and get it handled with the best results every time. It’s such a small world cause we share many of the same customers too. They too give nothing but great comments about Keiths’ business too.

Absolutely the best! We are lucky to have such great mechanic so close to us. Keith and his team help our fleet of truck that Barefoot pools uses daily.
