So I will admit, I have gone to this place several times and I absolutely love their food. They have a very delicious breakfast menu and a really good Turkey/Bacon/Avocado sandwich that I get on rye bread. I would give this place a 4 star. But… I saw a roach in the facility. Where there is one, there is many. I’m big on bugs/rodents and their lack of presence in a restaurant. I find it to be very unsanitary. The food is «delish» though. But roaches… Nah man! I’m out!

This place has been a staple in Chantilly for as long as I’ve been alive. I remember coming here 20 years ago with my dad when visiting his work next door and getting the best sandwich ever; SCRAPPLE, EGG, ANDCHEESE. Not many places carry it so I’m a fan of talking turkey. This is a typical deli with occasional specials and just a quick place to grab a bite to eat inside or on the go. Don’t expect the 5 star treatment when you walk in… just order and enjoy your food.

Good sandwich– ordered TBLT, only thing is, they left off the bacon and I asked for white bread, and got wheat… For a $ 8 sandwich– I really would have liked that bacon! And they skimped on the avocado…

Decided to try this place today(Saturday) and it was not open at 11:30. Unacceptable that there was no website update. Also, signs outside building trumpeted Saturday hours. So simple to update site and not waste customers’ time!

I use to work in Chantilly and discovered TT then. Great turkey sandwiches on a variety of breads. You can even get a nice turkey meal. Great breakfast spot too. Every time I’m in the area while they are open I stop in.

Thanksgiving sub A+++++++

Be a tryptophan man. I’m not a big thanksgiving guy. Maybe it’s the pressure of delivering a slam dunk holiday dinner to my Portuguese professional eating family. In case you didn’t know, the Portuguese are clones of the other gastronomic guru’s, the Italians. Ok, maybe its the family stories I hear every year… like when my sister in law beat up the neighbors son on the school bus or when my wife walked away from a broken down car on the 14th street bridge… and never retrieved it… anyway, I look forward to the day AFTER thanksgiving. I even make a leftover container with all the fixin’s for a monster turkey sandwich. Hell yea… Talkin’ Turkey is the dealio. I can go there and get a «thanksgiving dinner on a sub» any time I want. Then go back to my cubicle job and snooze it off the rest of the day(this is why you fake a herniated disc problem and have the company buy you a high backed chair and face your computer away from the door). Better yet, I don’t have to suffer the day after thanksgiving hang over I’ve usually get from drinking my way through dinner till the family leaves. Bottom line: Funny name for a eatery. Having your boss catchin’ you snoozing after lunch… NOT funny.

If saying some place was a hidden gem wasn’t so clichéd and overused, I’d definitely call this place a hidden gem. Simply put, it’s unique and quite good. Had the Thanksgiving Dinner Sub and almost wept of happiness. Delicious moist turkey, perfectly executed sandwich whose flavors left me awash with beautiful food memories of Thanksgivings past. I applaud them for offering fresh roasted turkey, rather than the processed deli meat offered everywhere else. They also have a great menu with inventive items like the Thanksgiving sub and Korean bulgogi cheesesteaks. I must come back again asap.

So I found this place on Unilocal as it’s close to work… so i give it a try and before you know it I’m standing inside this place staring at the menu. The place is nothing fancy, but not too shabby — just my kind of place that’s affordable but decent for lunch break. As I proceed to examine the menu this Thanksgiving Dinner Sandwich option appears of which I was very skeptical about because those ingredients just don’t sound like they go together well on a sandwich. Anyways, I man up and order the sandwich… take a bite and am pleasantly surprised at how well all the ingredients come together(turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc). It was just delicious with not one ingredient overwhelming another — it was like an orgy of ingredients in every bite. Whoever thought this up is amazing…

Hard to spot as it is tucked away in an industrial park. It is on the front side of the road. Small space with a few tables mainly a takeout place. If you like turkey come and grab get the turkey meal with two side, which is very tasty. The turkey Alfredo is a yummy special not always available. If you don’t like turkey they have other things but I can only vouch for turkey as that is all I tried. Quick service.

The concept of a Thanksgiving dinner on a sub is one that I rarely come across. So when the opportunity arrives, I’m all over it like… well…gravy on turkey. Talkin Turkey makes a great Thanksgiving sub. It had everything needed for it to work. Cranberry sauce, stuffing, and turkey of course. There’s even mayo on it. The service was super friendly and prices are fair. Its a great place to come to for lunch.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is very good. Excellent healthy options without a bunch of crappy carbs. Good value for money and I go back whenever I’m in the area.

This is not the most glamorous joint to get a quick bite to eat. A lot of construction and laborer types come in here. I wanted to check it out based on a coworker’s recommendation. I ended up getting the open faced turkey sandwich. It was loaded with fresh baked turkey, a scoop of mashed potatoes, and stuffing, and then smothered with gravy. One uninformed thing the lady did was the open faced turkey sandwich wasn’t open faced. They made a sandwich and then poured gravy over the sandwich bread. If I come back here, I won’t order that again. They took the ingredients from an open buffet bar that is not necessary protected. Next time I will order something freshly cooked from a grill and food taken from a fridge.

This a hole in the wall place — but is a great hole in the wall deli. The Turkey Salad sandwich is awesome! I eat here a few time a month and love it. Sandwich is heaped full of turkey salad.

They’re not just serving turkey here, they’re Talkin’ Turkey! I’ve been going to Talkin’ Turkey since ’01 and this hidden jewel has consistently been pumping out some of the best fresh thanksgiving style dinners and turkey sandwhiches around. And by fresh, I mean FRESH! Whole turkeys are roasted on site every day and carved up for your dining pleasure. I highly recommend the triple decker club with ham, bacon and, of course, fresh trimmed turkey. Throw banana peppers on there for some kick and you’ll be all set. This place is only open monday — friday and is closed by 3 pm so get there early. It’s worth it.

Stopped in here for a late lunch — around 2:30 pm-ish. The lunch crowd was gone and I was the only customer in the joint. I ordered a Turkey Club — the Turkey is real fresh, thick slabs of Turkey, carved off a Turkey like you would get for Turkey sandwiches made from your leftover Thanksgiving Turkey. Both dark and white meat were present in the sandwich. Throw in mayo, cheese(I think it was provolone), lettuce, tomato, sliced ham, and bacon, on a delicious sub-style bun and you have an excellent sandwich! I also got sides of mashed potatoes and stuffing — with Turkey gravy. Both were very tasty! They have a hot bar at lunch time — with all the trimmings that go with Turkey — mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, Brussels sprouts, corn, and more. They also have a thick Turkey and vegetable soup. Beyond Turkey — they offer a full and varied menu — including traditional breakfast foods, a ton of hot and cold subs(steak and cheese, corn beef, pastrami, ham, Italian, etc.), meatloaf, lasagna, Salisbury steak, and a whole lot more! The sandwich and two sides is definitely two meals for me. I could only eat one half the sandwich and half of each side and I was stuffed — just like a Thanksgiving Turkey! So I’ve got a second meal for later. Total bill was $ 11.92. They are open Monday — Friday — from 6:00 am — 3:30 pm. It’s like having Thanksgiving for lunch any day of the week! Mmmmmmmm! Check it out!
