As a board certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Galin Spicer specializes exclusively in plastic, reconstructive, and orbital surgery for areas surrounding the eye and orbit. Our office also offers a variety of non-surgical procedures and cosmetic services such as benign lesion removal, chemical peels, Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport™, dermal fillers, and laser resurfacing.
Whether cosmetic or reconstructive, our goal at Charleston Eyeworx is to provide each patient with excellence in treatment and compassionate care.
History
Established in 2004.
Galin J. Spicer, M.D. is an ABO board certified ophthalmologist, oculofacial plastic surgeon, and founding director of Charleston Eyeworx. She is a fellow of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), of which there are only four in South Carolina and fewer than 500 nationwide.
Dr. Spicer’s philosophy of using minimally invasive procedures and customized surgical techniques for maximum results and long term benefits is the cornerstone of her successful practice. Her commitment to patient care and continued involvement in the evolution of new oculoplastic procedures and products ensures that her patients receive the most effective and sophisticated treatments available anywhere.

Business Owner
A Charleston native and graduate of Tulane University, Dr. Spicer received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia where she served as chief resident, as well as a two year oculofacial plastic surgery fellowship at the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital, the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, and New York Columbia/Presbyterian Hospital, all world renowned centers of excellence for cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgery.
She is a member of the clinical faculty at Bön Secours St. Francis Hospital, Roper Hospital, and East Cooper Regional Medical Center. She has lectured and presented scientific papers at various national medical meetings around the country and authored many scientific articles in textbooks and journals pertaining to both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
She and her husband, Kevin, have two young boys. She enjoys biking, sailing, traveling, and hiking.
