History

Established in 1997.

Distinctive Design /​Build /​Remodel (formerly Distinctive Building Services) was founded by General Contractor, Vince Busby, in 1997 and has grown to be Charlotte’s trusted source for residential remodeling, custom home building and light commercial remodeling projects. Vince and his team of design and construction professionals are dedicated to providing homeowners in the Charlotte area with expert advice, top-​quality products and fine craftsmanship.

Business Owner

Vince Busby has been in the construction business for more than 30 years. He began his career working with his father building apartment complexes in New Mexico and Florida. During that time, Vince got hands-​on experience in all areas of residential construction as well as construction management. His attention to detail during construction — especially the finishing stage — means you can expect a flawless finish.

In 1997, Vince he opened his own remodeling business — Distinctive Building Services. The business thrived thanks to referrals and repeat clients — people who wouldn’t have any other builder work on their homes. Vince’s construction knowledge is so well respected that he’s been tapped to testify as an expert witness by attorneys who specialize in construction litigation.

In 2013, Vince Busby joined forces with Design Coordinator, Erin Dougherty and together they formed Distinctive Design /​Build /​Remodel,
