Buchanan & Kiguel Fine Custom Picture Framing offers over 2,000 different picture frame moldings on display in each of its showrooms. With galleries in Charlottesville, Orange and Alexandria, Virginia, we work with real people on real projects. Frame shops are a dime a dozen, and we are not your ordinary frame shop. We are expert framing specialists who understand proper design techniques to make your pictures-​perfect. For almost 50 years now, we have made it our goal to provide extraordinary framing quality and craftsmanship worthy of a discriminating clientele. History

Established in 1966.

Buchanan and Kiguel was founded by Dr. Enrique B. Kiguel, a professor in the School of Medicine at Georgetown University, and A. Lawrence Buchanan, a translator as well as Associate Editor of Americas Magazine at the Organization of American States. Their original joint venture was an antique shop in Orange, Virginia. One day during that first year a client asked if they would frame an old engraving previously purchased from them. It became a challenge to find the very best materials for completion of this task, and thus began a long career of fine picture framing which very soon superseded that of selling antiques. Their ultimate goal was to be able to offer fine, sophisticated traditional picture framing of superior quality, as well as painting and frame restoration to a knowledgeable public. The headquarters are in Orange, with branch locations in Alexandria and Charlottesville.
