Our Discount Art Supplies provide a value to our local art community, as we offer 10% off ALL art supplies, every day. We pride ourselves on providing a diverse selection of art supplies, including some hard-​to-​find materials – such as silverpoint stylus, encaustics, & a huge selection of art papers.

History

Established in 1968.

Owned and operated by Anne Novak since 1980. Creative Framing has provided top-​quality framing and inspired designs to the Charlottesville area for over 45 years.

We began carrying art supplies in 1997. In 2000, we physically expanded to include the adjoining shop and named our art supply division The Art Box.

In 2003, we opened a second Art Box location in Lynchburg, Virginia. There, we sell art supplies and have an art center with 9 studios occupied by 15 artists. Two classrooms provide art instruction for regional art-​lovers.

In October 2012, we opened a third location in Crozet, Virginia. The Crozet shop sells art supplies, provides picture framing, and offers classes, as well as a gallery space with Second Saturday Openings.

Over the years, our product offerings have grown to include gifts, housewares, stationery, and creative tools for children.

Since 2004, Amanda has been the glue and the glory behind the success of Creative Framing and The Art Box in Charlottesville. Amanda’s customers love her smiling face, and warm heart. She is always willing to place special orders for you, and her ability to help guide you with your special project is unparalleled. She splits her time between the Crozet and Charlottesville stores and always makes her customers feel right at home at both locations!
