As a rehabber/​decorator, I donate and buy a lot of used mdse. I have given kitchen cabinets, bathroom sinks, kitchen sinks, lighting, leftover construction supplies, appliances etc. I do not think the Chatsworth restore wants to sell anything. The manager is very rude and will not hear of sales or discounts. Her store is full of mdse that does not sell, either the price is too high or no one wants it. As far as I’m concerned, she can keep it all. That’s not helping the veterans get $$ to build homes. The Chatsworth store is the worst one I’ve found. I give all of my business to the Simi Valley and Oxnard stores. I live in Northridge, and will drive the extra miles to get and donate better customer service. The Chatsworth store doesnt even want to pick up valuable mdse!!! Very dissappointed with the Chatsworth restore’s management, the woman who sits in the office and wont get off her …

Majority of this stuff here is priced way too high, granted, there is an interesting selection. Would never pay what they’re asking though.

This is a great charity and a very interesting store. They have an interesting variety of items and if you see a useful item buy it when you see it because it will probably be gone next time. Last week I found a reasonable little kid’s bike trailer in good condition. I intend to use it to take my dogs to the dog park. I’m looking for a salvage sliding glass or sash window of very specific dimensions. My funds are limited but I know if I keep dropping in eventually I’ll find the right one and for a lot less money that a custom window. With that in mind I consider this to be a treasure island of savings for a homeowner.

Went for a look at furniture, wasn’t that impressed. They had a lot of tatty tartan couches left over from the 80’s and a heap of old fashioned huge TV stands/​built ins. Not much else. Everything was overpriced, great as it is going to a good cause, but bad if you actually want to purchase something. When you compare it to OfferUp app and Craigslist it starts to look expensive.
They did have a good collection of kitchen/​bathroom tiles if you only need a small area tiled. Plenty of doors, kitchen cabinets, etc for the DIY handyman.

I had a painter friend paint my new house and I wanted some shutters to put in my window rather then what was already there. I had given to Habitat humanity in the past but did not know they had s store until he told me about it. I looked them up and went right over, the wonderful finds you get here are unbelievable but more importantly the greatest find there is the manager Sylvia Bardelli and all the employees. Sylvia helped me in so many ways figure out what I needed at a price I could afford. She listened to me and then gave me sage counsel that was packed with wisdom. I felt as though I had known her for years. She is such a special person. She proves people’s lives and really cares about people. She’s worked in the corporate world but chooses to have meaning in her life and make a difference for others in our world and what a difference she makes. The employees are warm and friendly and very helpful. The store and its bathrooms are super clean. You can donate to them or you can buy from them. They have everything from paint to refrigerators to bedroom sets and even new mattress sets. Whatever business you do with them you will be helping to make a difference in other people’s lives through them. I highly recommend giving to them and buying from them.

I started coming here when they first opened and they had great prices on great things. Now their store is crammed full of so much mediocre furniture and the prices are high — a lot of things are $ 100 or more. I think that is why their stuff is so backlogged. No one is buying at these prices. I found an approximateley 18″ tall metal organizer with little plastic drawers for storing nails, bolts, etc. It was missing a few plastic drawers, dinged up, and had old labels everywhere. The price was $ 35!!! I was told by an employee that they have a different person running it than the one who first started it. I really think that if they want to be successful they need to keep the prices low and turnover of merchandise high. That is what I have noticed the longest lasting second hand stores do. I know that this is a charity trying to raise money, but I feel that they might be mistaken in raising the prices so high.

I really enjoy coming here for my restoration furniture projects. But it seems that prices have increased since I last came. Too bad, because I really enjoyed the affordable used items they had back in the days.

Impressive selection and outstanding customer service when it comes to furniture. Huge variety of wardrobes, armories, dressers, desks, hutches etc. Pricing may be more than Goodwill or similar places (expect to pay $ 100-​$ 300 for most pieces) but you’re bound to find several good options, and the warehouse team will not only bring your purchase to your car/​truck, but they’ll load it for you too. If you know what you want and aren’t interested in scouring the thrift stores in search of an unbeatable bargain, this is the place to go.

I am huge fan of Habitat for Humanity and was so excited to find out that they will pick up used furniture to sell in their store or donate to families in need. I was able to schedule a pick up within 4 days of calling. They sent two guys who were extremely friendly. They lifted our heavy furniture into their truck without asking us to help and were out of our house within 5 minutes. They came on time and were very professional. They provided me with a form for tax write off as well.
I haven’t been into the store, but seeing the slightly negative reviews is odd to me. This isn’t a place for you to find cheap used furniture, this is a charity that builds homes and provides financial counseling for low income families. If you aren’t happy with the store, do yourself a favor and volunteer for a build day to see what they’re really about.

Here is my honest review:
They are very kind/​helpful and have a great variety to browse through. Warehouse is large and parking is plentiful.
Their prices are ridiculously high compared to the Salvation Army/​Goodwill/​Craigslist for the same furnishings. However, If you need paint/​stain, small tools/​hardware, or small building materials, then The Habitat for Humanity Restore in Chatsworth should be your first stop. They do come through with exceptionally low-​prices on these items.
Ponder this: When you consider that all the items they sell were donated to them, they benefit no matter what. I stop in a few times each month for hardware and I may see three other customers in the entire warehouse. The place is busting at the seams from stacks & piles of over-​priced furniture that won’t sell. The Restore could restore it’s greedy reputation and live-​up to it’s core values of building the «American Dream» for families who would otherwise be excluded, if their priority was again funding their charitable building projects, so others can have a better life.
It’s a joke to call them a charity when they operate the Restore like a for-​profit retailer. They are just another organization seizing a «non-​profitable» Opportunity to take advantage of my community. They would better serve their mission with integrity & efficiency if their prices were reasonable (cut in half) for the genuine purpose of funding their building projects. Donations/​items would be 5X what they are now and crowds of people would shop their warehouse daily. Funding would increase, projects would expand. That’s the irony.
Bottom lIne: The Habitat Restore in Chatsworth is where prices are double (and triple) what you’d pay at the three (above mentioned) competitors, for the same quality antiquities & furnishings.
I would only recommended your patronage for picking through reasonably-​priced smaller items.

Great deals! Don’t forget to ask for a deal… It does seem like similar items are priced by different people on different days, so there is lack of consistency, so ASK about the price and see if they’ll match a lower similar item. Store is kept very clean for a used item store. Hours are good and service is GREAT! Drop off area for donations is easy too.

See this wood cabinet I bought. It’s a used TV cabinet I’m going to convert and I got it at Goodwill for $ 39.99. I’ve seen similar items at the Restore for approximately $ 100 plus. I guess that’s what you have to pay in order to make up for the CEOs salary of $ 266,000. After discovering the restore and their prices I did my research and noticed that they have one high price on the floor and I found higher prices on for the same item on craigslist. I participated in building homes for Habitat for Humanity, I contributed items to the cause for building homes, but it seems that the main recipient is the CEO. I wonder how much each executive has contributed to the cause? I’ve also noticed sales representatives justifying the prices to customers, standing firm on the prices and stating that items are 50% less than retail but I’m sorry … used items donated should not be compared to retail prices especially when the money is going and executive pockets! I guess this is why they also have a lot of over stock.

I am a DIY girl and this store is a best kept secret. I like to rehab old furniture by painting it and changing the hardware. I’ve scored some really nice pieces here. Most are older than me (I am 36) and are sure to last the test of time. I live close by and try to stop by at least once a month. The staff is always super friendly. The prices are also pretty good. Over the years, I have purchased a bed frame, desk, end table and three chairs to name a few. All of which are better quality than any furniture store would sell. If you are looking for a unique piece of furniture, you may find something here. I don’t always find something but, I am never disappointed when I do because I know it will last a lifetime. I will likely never by new furniture from an furniture store again.

Unreal. I am totally and completely confused on how it is possible one can live in Los Angeles and not have the experience of coming here, namely myself. Initially I thought Chatsworth ??? Hell no. And now, baffled that I missed it for so long I am really shocked by the size of the armoires, dressers and other major items (some commercial pieces) that are here, including the prices for what you are getting.
I somehow someway found their listings on Craigslist but in addition to the front of the warehouse, clear in the very back they are bringing in truckloads of serious commercial/​residential counters cabinets and the like. Well, to my disappointment everything I loved had a ‘sold’ ticket on it and alas I left with nothing. Not great for me, but there is a reason everything here sells so quickly. The guy at the front is very friendly and assured me that they get new things in all the time and the facility is huge so it is well worth the trip. and the hunt.

This store is the most organized of the ReStores and it’s got a ton of supplies available for builders and do it yourselfers. Paint. Huge Selection of tile, Primer electrical, plumbing supplies, caulk, furniture, great appliances, and more. Everything is about 50% of what you would pay brand-​new, the employees are incredibly helpful, and it goes to a good cause, I will come here all the time.

I was expecting a different type of place. I would compare this to the Salvation Army. The staff were really friendly but I wouldnt go here thinking you are going to find hidden treasures. I would definitely recommend it for building supplies though. Also, many of their things are listed on Craigslist so search «chatsworth restore» and I think you will see many of their good listings.

Good mix of new and used home goods. There are many antiques and unique items. Good prices and even better sales.

I dig this place. It’s huge space and they have everything from fancy tiles from Walker Zanger (at a fraction of the cost) to windows, doors and appliances. I scored an ottoman that looks like leather but was mock alligator for $ 15 and a torch lamp for $ 20. Office chair for my honey’s desk $ 20 too. They just received furnishing from the Marriott and they aren’t hip but they are classic and sturdy. What you buy there goes to a good cause like building homes for veterans. Worth visiting.

I’ve sort of become infatuated with these stores ever since I stumbled across the one in Norwalk. This now brand new location has the nicest furniture and flooring (and prices) I’ve seen in all the ReStores in the Greater Los Angeles area. However, the other hardware and decorative selection is small.
