Pockets Sandwich Shops

I have had the Don, Ken and House pocket in both chicken and beef, The pockets are big and can take down a big appetite as well as a good stack of napkins (messy) This place is rated high, the service IS in fact slow due to there just being one person behind the grill, but it is worth the wait.
The place is small. It is nestled between Cupids hot dogs and an Indian place (side note… not as good as the other locations) But i digress. The lot gets full around lunch time so just park where you can. There is maybe 4 tables in the place and a couple of patio table and chairs, so most people just take it to go.
So i recommend this place if you are looking to find a new weekly «must have» place in your wheel house.

recently moved to the area and i am glad this is one of the first places i tried… the food is very good… ive had steak and chicken pockets personally i prefer the steak… also the fresh sandwiches and «rolls» are really good ive had the cali roll and the turkey club and the veggie pocket… all the produce is fresh and yummy… it can get busy in there during lunch hours but that is understandable there are two people running the shop… personally ive always gotten my order very fast especially if i call ahead and the service has been great… thank you!

Looking to try something new and passed by this place before. They are usually closed, but saw they were actually open for a change so i decided to try it. 1^st thing, the person does is go, we have mo pitas and mo steak. Hmmmm, defeats the pocket ideology of their target. Ok, whatever, even though there was a jersey mike’s next door, i still order a sub. While I was ordering, the cook yells from the background WERE CLOSED! Suprised she still took my order but the guy behind me was out of luck. Even though he takes another customer 3 minutes later. So confused! Alot of opportunity with this place.

Great service. You can sit outside at this small sandwich shop, which is great for me.
I got the small Steak and Onion sub. It was tasty and very large for a small. Tasty sweet onions and steak that was flavorful.

Great food at a competitive price.
I had the Ultimate Steak Pocket and it was amazing. When I work in the area, I’ll always make sure to stop by here for lunch.

Really some of the best food around. The pita pockets are fresh and I have never been disappointed in the quality of the food. What I can tell you for a fact is that the owner of this establishment insists on cooking the food himself which would normally be the case when it calls for expertise in preparing high level meals but truth be told that a monkey can cook these simple meals. Because the owner has a hard time parting with any money to pay for an assistant — the public suffers the consequences. It’s too much to ask for someone sweating over a hot grill to be friendly and courteous and this is the case at this establishment. He is easily frazzled and when there are a few orders stacked up… good luck.

Good food quality. A little pricey. But good. People are nice. Stupid rule about 50c for dressing for my $ 13 lunch, i paid by cc. I think it’s kinda stupid to charge 50c so I went without

I was looking for something new that i haven’t tried in Chatsworth. I saw this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. I went during lunch time, so there was a decent amount of people inside and picking up orders. I heard the way to get your food as quickly as possible is to call in and order it first.
It took about 15 – 20 minutes to get my Ultimate Steak Pocket.
I have to comment on the customer service, I understand the lunch rush, but my food was called out ready by the cook and I waited 5 minutes when all it needed was to be bagged and handed to me. The woman at the register was taking orders abs making togo drinks while i just waited right in front.
She may have not been that experienced with the volume, which is okay. Though when she handed me my food, she didn’t even say anything, just put it up and looked away and didn’t say anything as I left.
Im just saying i wouldn’t have minded the wait as much if the woman was more empathetic and customer friendly.
Alright now to get to the Ultimate Steak taste!
I was satisfied with it because i was hungry. But it reminded me of a Philly cheesesteak, but not as good. There was a type of bland flavor to the meat and mushrooms. Everything tasted fresh and was portioned great, not too much cheese, steak, mushrooms, and onions!
Overall, a decent lunch for a decent price.

I had the house club pocket with fries. It was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. Excellent lunch!

I literally was in the place for only 5 minutes when I walked into the place and the owner/​cook/​cashier/​server was all in one person. He looked up as he was cooking on the grill and said, «I’m not taking any more orders today». All stressed out!!! He really needs to hire help if he wants to have happy customers.

Parking is a little tight in this strip mall area on the corner of lassen and topanga. There’s about 16 chairs on the inside and 4 on the outside. Very small place. Had the ultimate steak sandwich in a pita pocket (vs a sub sandwich bread), and seasoned fries. The seasoned fries were half soggy and there wasn’t much seasoning taste in them… Bad marks for that. The ultimate steak sandwich with tri tip meat, bell peppers, cheese, etc. was very good! Large sandwich too. If you do order the large fries, it would probably feed three people! Anyway, they get a star for their sandwich. I saw a guy sitting down waiting for his order, and then three people in front of me ordering. All three got their order, and then mine. She asked him what his order was and repeated it back to the cook. I’m pretty sure they lost his order. My co worker tried the fries and agreed that it didn’t have much taste. Will I come back? Maybe, but just for the sandwich, not the fries.

Oh man is this place good. We got Don’s chicken pita and the ultimate steak pita with the seasoned fries. The ultimate steak was delicious. The food was fresh and hot, great flavor. I can’t wait to come back.

Very friendly and accommodating. The woman working behind the counter seems like the owner and she treated us like family. The food was great and fresh.

Okay starting by how good they are, the minute I walk in and the lady greet me with a good vibe wow, first time trying their food, and she give me free fries to try. U would think just a couple fries, no she hook me up with a whole bag of French fries… She made my day… Go and try it out u would love it :)

I’ve been coming to eat here since before I can remember.
It’s unique in the sense that all of the food is made fresh to order and everything is delicious.
Same great food. Same great chef that I love!

I love this place. It get’s crowded but I usually order ahead of time and for the quality and taste of food you get from here, i dont mind the wait. Good customer service and great prices for large quantities of food. I recommend the california roll (sandwich) and the fries. Their fries are sooooo goood.

I’ve been wanting to visit for a few weeks. So glad I finally made it! :) It did NOT disappoint.

I have been coming here for years and I will come back for years to come. Frank makes the best sandwiches, literally the best. I recommend the half chicken, half steak baguette. The only complaint I have is how busy it always is, BUT that’s what happens when your food is AMAZING so I can’t blame people for lining up just to get to eat here. You can also call in your order and save some time which is a plus.

The California salad is amazing! Avocado, lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, walnuts, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and chicken!!! Deliciousness in a bowl! This salad will set you back about $ 10 but definitely worth every bite! The portions Are huge! Staff is pleasant and they deliver on freshness!

Dons chicken which is chicken, mushroom, avocado, cheese and bacon (I nix the bacon) wrapped in a pita is my go to at this place. I’ve been coming here since 2006 and they are yet to disappoint. The fries are delicious with a very tasty seasoning. All of their sandwiches you can get in a pita or on a bun.
