This is the WORST restaurant ever. Dept of health and safety should shut this place down. WORSTSTALEFOODANDHORRIBLESERVICE.

Food is terrible. The masala in the dosa is bland and no taste. The yogurt rice is like lumpy paste. Will never come back. This place is an insult to South Indian cuisine

I came inside without a clue about Indian food and left with a full belly and head full of knowledge. The staff was sweet and willing to teach! It was a quiet place. Peaceful, considering the heat and noise outside. I really enjoyed the Delux South Indian Thali. I pretty much tasted a rainbow. Spicy, sweet, tangy, rich in flavor and a bang for your buck.

I had lunch with friends at this place it was amazing We ordered Masala dosa, butter dosa, Porto Chana and badam(Almonds)halwa . Everything was delicious done to perfection. The Dosa pleased us with presentation long, crispy, and fresh. Poori Chana was good too The show stopper was badam halwa(almonds), sweet, melt in mouth kind cooked in butter. They have good variety of drinks too we ordered iced tea and lemon water. Do check this one for tasty Indian food

I am not a vegetarian and I absolutely love this place! Great unique curries and a delicious variety of breads and appetizers. Whenever I go in to pick up an order, I’m offered tea while I wait. I’m really glad I found this place.

5-star award-winning place! I used to have lunch here every friday, their lunch buffet is pretty amazing, incredibly tasty, you can’t go wrong with it. You can also order 1 dosa from a list of 10 options. Although I’m not a vegetarian, I just don’t miss having meat at this place, their idli is mouth watering. I also just learned they have dosa party on monday or wednesday night?

Best South Indian in SoCal, hands down. Very authentic. Traditional curries that you don’t get even everyplace in India. 5 stars just for authenticity Rasam is tangy. Food is a little spicy but there’s no fun in life without spices

Food is great, service could be a bit better. Love the dosa, idli, vada sambhar… All the south Indian food is great so we’ve been here several times. Had Chana Bhatura this time and that was very good too. Like the new renovation.

Lunch buffet that comes with one dosa of your choice is excellent for a South Indian restaurant in this region. Delight at the dahi vada, sambar vada, idli, rice, mini parathas, and other veggies at this joint.

This is the best Indian vegetarian restaurant on the west end of SFV, and practically anywhere in LA as far as I’m concerned. I like that it’s all vegetarian. We had gobi chettinad and poori bhaji. The gobi was nice and spicy. Excellent service too.

My brother and I had the lunch buffet. Neither of us had ever tried South Indian food before. We especially loved the yellow curry, desserts, masala dosa, and a lentil donut, the name of which I sadly do not know. The food was superbly spiced and everything was piping hot. Unexpectedly delicious, considering the restaurant is in a slightly dumpy looking plaza. Polite and attentive waitstaff.

It’s the best one near LA… Had gone there last weekend for brunch and the dosas, idlis, vada, sambar… Everything was fresh and tasty. It wasn’t bland like many other places. one thing that they can improve upon is to make a little softer idlis,(though they are better than many other places). And coconut chutney can have some more flavor… But overall it’s an awesome place and service is excellent. I look forward to visit them again and would recommend it to anyone who loves south indian veg food.

I just ordered some items for the studio and boy was it a hit! The guys at the Restaraunt are super cool. The added some extra bites to make sure we had enough, and included a very odd but super tasty rice pudding that at first I took a bite then ended up finishing it all. Bam! This place has great flavors and spices Oneof the breads, a large round partly fried puff dough we actually put in the toaster and it got nice and toasty. It was amazingly good. Do yourself a favor and come here with a large group and try the different items. I have eaten at the 3 or 4 different Indian spots in the north west valley and this place is top in flavors, curries and they have thaese different breads that make you easily forget about the nahn!

Quiet vegan Indian restaurant in the Valley. I’m vegetarian, not vegan, so I definitely missed some of the flavor dairy gives but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was considering. This place is different, the flavor a are unique and the staff is lovely. I felt like my daughter and I were eating at a friends home. I’ll be back to give the new flavors another go.

Looking for Indian crepes? If you are in the mood of trying good South Indian food, then this is your to go place. Everything on their menu is good. The experience starts with warm hospitality, followed by complimentary chips and dip. We were well taken care off and the food was authentic. The portions are big. It is neither cheap not expensive.

Oh, the good old days! When Jonathan Gold was at the LA Weekly, before there were smart phones, before Unilocal, before the internet really, we Angelenos looked up good restaurants in the little blurbs in the back of the LAW, near the section primarily devoted to the sensual massage and sexy chat adverts and large pictures of scantily clad people(here were no medical marijuana ads back then, if you can imagine), searching desperately for those all-important initials: JG. When you saw the JG initials on the mini-paragraph, and you happened to be near the restaurant being described, your pulse quickened and your mood improved at once. You knew you were about to eat well. And this, dear reader, is exactly how I found Woodlands oh so many years ago. Having been a very strict vegetarian for several years, I had tried a lot of Indian restaurants trying to avoid the Chicken Tikka Masala until I became less rigid in my dietary choices. But little did I know that there was a whole cuisine from the Southern part of India that was 100% vegetarian until my first visit here. Having been to Woodlands several times over the years with friends and family(always for the buffet; check here for hours: ), I can vouch for consistently delicious vegetarian and vegan food, a wonderful mango lassi and great halvah. Service is courteous and warm. And the buffet is all-you-can-eat, which is a great deal. Parking is free in the private lot.

Best vegetarian Indian cuisine in town. First time I dined there was about 7 years ago and although I have moved, I go to eat there if I’m in the neighborhood. The staff is courteous and friendly. Everything tastes delicious(that is if you enjoy different flavors). The place gets really busy during lunch on weekends, but that’s due to the great variety of dishes on the menu or the all you can eat buffet. Their mango lasse is a killer! Plenty of parking spots in shopping center. The place seems clean. Only one issue I have is: I wish they wouldn’t sweep the floors constantly while people are dinning. I don’t enjoy breathing and eating dust! But I will still keep my 5 star rating.

Food is finger-licking-delicious from here! I do not have to travel to South Bay to enjoy south Indian restaurant food! Why don’t you guys open up in OC? I mean why chose Artesia or start somewhere remotely as in Chatsworth? Ordered these items for dinner to-go(total came up to $ 30 with tax and tip) Idly(2), vada(2) and uthappam(1) combination — Idly was divine! It was super soft, tasty and after 2 hours it still remained soft. So was vada. Small size though. Chose onion chili. Thick pancake dosa sprinkled with coriander. Woodlands uthappam — it was a combo of onions, peppers, peas, tomato and it was delicious. Gobi manchurian — super tasty, bit crispy and the BEST I have had. Bisi bele bath — This was so-so. It lacked some salt but it was good along with their sides of raita, pickles and applam(rice crispy chips). The main thing I appreciate about this restaurant is that their side of Coconut chutney was 8oz!!! I have been disappointed with so many other south Indian restaurants who pack you with just a dollop of chutney for each entrée. With two bites dipped in chutney it will be over. Do you hear that Dosa Place or Palace whatever you call that you serve south Indian chutney? Another great appreciative quality of this restaurant is their Sambar — it was thick, with real vegetables(unlike most, I mean all south Indian restos which serve close to water consistency sambar with typical frozen cut veggies in it). And was offered in a 32 oz travel container. This place is REAL authentic south Indian food and thank the Chef who prepares the recipe just like how moms make it at home.
