The salad bar looks much better today! Everything was bite-size except for the mushrooms. Grateful for the improvements. :) The salad bar attendant was friendly and the cashier was quick and courteous.

I shop occasionally at the Cedar Rd. /Dominion Blvd. location. Produce seems okay. Meats are okay. Deli has Boars Head Products which is a plus. I can’t seem to bring myself to buy seafood there. Bakery is average. Parking lot is a little hard to get in and out of.

I got to this Farm Fresh all of the time. Normally they have in stock what they advertise. Occasionally, on couponing days they will run out of certain things. There are a few crazy couponers who go nuts there. The bakery and salad bar are always well attended. The staff is friendly and helpful. I went to this store prepping for a hurricane awhile back and they had stockers running all over the place making sure that batteries and water were everywhere and accessible. This store, as all Farm Fresh’s do, has the emergency power generators only, so when the power is out, they have no bakery and deli, but you can still get your food. The teenagers they hire there are helpful and nice. The only have one older lady who works there who goes overboard when I use coupons. I refer to her as the coupon FBI. So I stopped going there to her when couponing and I have not had a problem since.

Let’s face it, Virginians… NY doesn’t know a damn thing about biscuits and gravy. Lets add sweet tea and grits to that list as well. But I must say, VA doesn’t know much about delis. I’ve searched high and low in Hampton Roads and for the life of me, can’t find a good deli. They are more like sandwich shops than anything else. Farm Fresh’s deli is much better than Harris Teeters(which had 2 different types of potato salad, mac salad, and some sort of rice pilaf. How amazingly boring). I also went to Taste Unlimited and their«deli» was even weaker. Although I never found a true deli, Farm Fresh gets the best rating, in my opinion. Not only that, I bought a bunch of celery sticks and the woman behind the counter(Gloria) offered to wash and cut them up for me. That rocked. Ok, getting back to a true deli… step into a Whole Foods, or any NY supermarket for an example. A deli truly offers more than cut meats, sandwiches, and cheese. They offer EVERYTHING!
