This salon is incredible! Darrian has been cutting my hair and he is absolutely amazing!!! I get a hair cut every four months. That is how wonderful his hair cuts are. He is very professional and incredible at what he does! Worth every penny spent

Hate to write a negative review on Unilocal– but I think this business should know, after reading all the reviews that were so similar to my experience.
I think the stylists here should listen to what the client asked has asked them for.
The stylist here DESTROYED my hair. Nothing was symetrical about my haircut. The person who tried to fix it after didn’t even know where to start. I came in there with hair down my back and left with shoulder length hair with a shit ton of «layers” — and uneven bangs– which couldn’t even be considered that because there was no rhyme or reason to any of it I don’t know how you can mess up a TRIM, which was what I asked for…2 inches… not 6 and then cut shelved layers into the hair. Not even the base layer of the hair was even at the ends… I paid $ 100 to walk around with my hair in a bun for the next 3 months. I think the stylist even knew she effed it up because she told me to come back in a month. Uh… I wouldn’t come back to this salon if Trump himself paid me 1 million dollars.

Anthony Cristiano @ THE TRUMP HOTEL. OMG DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have very long, curly hair… They CHOPPED INCHES OFF, I did not ask for this. I was in tears. I left with shoulder length hair. It was awful, terrible and cringeworthy. I will not name the stylist because I do not want to throw people under the bus but please for the love of GOD! The Trump is not worth the price tag! It may as well be supercuts! Literally they charge $ 150 for a cut, please don’t do it. You would be better off cutting up your money and throwing it out the window, at least in that case you wouldn’t look like total crap in your daily life. It took about a year and a half just to make my hair the length it currently is after that jacked up experience. Go to Robert Jeffrey in Lincoln Park and see Sarah. Cut, Balayage Color, Kerastase Conditioning treatment, and Blow out is about $ 300 something, way better deal and she wont mess up your hair!!!

This salon was a key find. I came in one day looking for a shampoo that was only carried at a few spots in Chicago. This was after a hot yoga class and I was hoping to pop in and out. I walked into the gorgeous salon immediately regretting going in my sweaty condition. I grumbled to the receptionist that I was interested in a shampoo for thinning hair. A man was in the lobby and overheard the conversation.
He chimed in, «Miss may I take a look at your hair and then I can answer your questions on what shampoo to use.» He took me to his chair in the beautiful salon overlooking the Chicago river (this was for a shampoo question!) and proceeded to finger comb through my sweaty hair, judgement free.
His compassion was appreciated and I immediately felt at ease. He introduced himself as Anthony Cristiano and I was shocked. He suggested a shampoo and some stylists for me to consider. Anyone who was that humble and genuine in such an amazing setting had my attention.
He suggested Todd for color — his blonde is the BEST I’ve ever had and he is always great to work with. He does my extensions too, and I must say for the price — it is the best decision I have ever made. Life changing. I’ve had stylists question why I have so much better hair than my sister. Stylists cannot tell my hair has extensions. He is the sweetest man to work with and genuinely wants you to look your best.
I now get cuts with Jessica and she pays impeccable attention to detail. She knows what cuts will fit your face best and I never regret following her suggestions. She will even take the time to teach you how to style your hair almost as great as she can do it.
Anthony Cristiano is the best of both worlds… five star service with a humble attitude.

I love this place. I discovered it almost 2 years ago when I was unhappy with my services at Maxines. Todd is amazing with highlights and blondes and there’s another guy there who cuts my hair (his name I’m forgetting) but he’s amazing too. Everyone was complementing my haircut after I got it done. I think the price is pretty reasonable for an upscale salon in the Trump Hotel. Everyone is super friendly and the whole experience is just upscale and elegant. Highly recommend!

It is unfortunate that the manager of what could be an amazing salon is so incredibly rude to customers– I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt — that she was possibly having a bad day — but after receiving the same dirty looks –rude comments EVERY TIME I had an appointment (3 times in 5 weeks) I figured it must be the way she likes to treat the people putting money in her pocket
I typically fly to NYC to a salon on 5^th avenue – and I will now go back to NYC– taking the several hundred dollars I spend with me.
The colorist is beyond talented – super friendly –the stylist listened and asked questions about style preferences and they are the only reason I returned.
I chose Unilocal bc I was certain the manager would be opening the mail and was not sure if Mr. Christiano would ever know how his company is being represented.

This is an updated review: Whenever I’m in Chicago, whether I’m staying at the Trump or not, I ALWAYS come here and get my hair done.
Everyone is so nice, and the salon is great.
I highly recommend Margie and Kristen — always amazing blowouts.

I am a brunette and usually I end up with really dark hair /​red tones
Not so this time because Anna matched my natural color while covering my greys and I loved her recommendations !
I really felt that I would trust any of the staff to do a great job
I sipped a cappuccino and chatted with one of the other clients while my color processed and then Joseph gave me a fantastic cut and blow dry. He knows how to blow dry hair so it looks bouncy and full of movement (not stick straight) I loved the way my hair looked when I left .
It’s upscale here but I’ve had really mediocre service elsewhere for the same price so to me it was a fantastic experience
I will be back to see Anna and Joesph– what a great team

There is nothing I wouldn’t change about my visit! Becky and Heinz are artists and super personable and fun to be around, too. The space is luxurious, comfortable, and gorgeous, and the reception is truly warm. Just a first rate experience and my hair is gorgeous.

Laura totally ruined my hair! Knew I left unhappy and when I came back to try and get it fixed, the service was awful. She left me at the shampoo bowl and someone sent me over for a blow dry. She never bothered to check on me once I had processed to see how it turned out. I went to another salon for corrective color and they were shocked someone at Anthony Christiano ruined my hair that much!!! The setting is great. The service… not so much. I should have never paid. I am still trying to correct the damage!
***after I posted this. There are all the sudden all these posts about how great Laura is when there was not one post about her before. Hmmm. Instead of fake posts, why not try to make it right by calling the customer or offering a refund. Speaks volumes for the attitude they have at this salon. I’m sure there are great people, but your money goes farther somewhere else where the employees don’t have to make fake posts!

I really hate this salon. The owner’s wife is so unpleasant. I think their policy of charging an additional $ 60 to dry your hair after a service is just plain cheeky and bad business. As other reviewers have commented, they let you walk out like a wet poodle!

Heinz is my hero. Moved to Chicago just over a year ago and have tried a few places in the city based on Unilocal reviews. I had long hair with ombré done about 2 months that I’ve growth bored of (both the length and color). Gave Anthony Cristiano a call and asked for someone who knows Asian hair. The lady recommended Heinz and Anthony. Not wanting to spend $ 350 on a haircut just yet, I made an appointment with Heinz the following day. He saw me right on time. We decided to chop my hair off to a short bob. My ombré no longer looked right on my new style so we got Elizabeth to tone it all to dark brown. I told her what I was looking for — I didn’t want highlight — just a single color that’s lighter than my natural black hair but no red/​gold tone as I like cool tones. She toned my golden ombré (which had lost its original cool grey tone I loved) and lighten my roots.
They use good hair products that are sulfate free. Plus I don’t feel my hair damaged in the color process — which has been the case in the past at other salons– my hair was so damaged I used to always waking to a tangled mess every single day. It also helps that I’ve had my long hair chopped off I’m sure.
I love my new hair style and can’t wait to go back again to try a new style from Heinz!

Stop searching! Thank you google ads! I didn’t know where to go and hopeless because I’ve had such bad salon experiences in the past.
This salon has reasonable prices (they’re not trying to screw you) and they want to take care of you! Todd did my color and he was wonderful!!!
The salon is clean and beautiful, but at the end of the day it’s about the value of services and this salon definitely delivers.

My friend constantly goes to Anthony Christiano, and I was anticipating my haircut at the salon. I came right on time at 5:00 pm, and was told that a hairstylist will be with me shortly.
Front desk is very nice, they offered a cup of cappuccino which was definitely a good touch. But! I ended up waiting for more than 20 min. When my hairstylist came in, Yasmine, she apologized for the delay, but said: «I’m so sorry, we are so busy today» — I couldn’t help answering: «well, that’s why people make appointments, right?»
I think she should have offered complimentary service or discount, but that didn’t occur to her.
She did fine job, nothing special. I really was disappointed when I was charged $ 150 for simple haircut. I know this place is fancy and yadayada, but really — didn’t worth the experience. I have been to dozen places all around the world. Not up to the high end level.
I ended up exceeding my parking meter time and had to pay extra $ 4. Because of her delay! Not nice, was definitely expecting to be pampered properly for the money.
UPD: I added extra star, as the haircut turn out to look good on my curly hair! When the stylist straightened my hair, I wasn’t sure how it would look when it’s naturally curly — well, it looks great. Thank you!

Anthony Cristiano salon, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
1) You have Margie on staff — the best men’s hair stylist in Chicago by far if not the greater United States. Seriously, I’ve had my hair cut at a bunch of other high end salons in New York, LA, and San Francisco. Margie is the Michael Jordan of men’s haircuts. It’s not close. If you are a man and want a top quality haircut then BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH MARGIE TODAY! You will not be disappointed. Not only is the cut perfect every single time but her level of service is unparalleled. She doesn’t rush through the cut just to turn over the chair, she works with you on an open road of communication and feedback during the cut until she gets it EXACTLY how you want it. Best part, after one or two cuts you never need to ask again… she has it down. Oh yeah, the conversation isn’t bad either. Some girls just click with men in terms of personality and conversation better than others — she is one of them. Absolutely brilliant.
2) You are run by Anthony Cristiano, a man that not only demonstrates his high integrity character on a daily basis but a man that cares so deeply about his clients that he never misses an opportunity to walk over to say hello, ask how you are doing, and make sure you are receiving the best service humanly possible even when he isn’t the one cutting your hair. I love this guy.
3) You are the epitome of posh elegance and high end service. From the checkin experience to the exit you will receive far more value in terms of service than you dished out monetarily for your haircut. A lot of people complain about paying a lot of money for a service like a haircut but it isn’t just the cut you are paying for and there isn’t a salon I’ve been to that demonstrates this more evidently. The attendants at the front desk always greet you with a warm smile, run to grab you a beverage, and even take your jacket and hang it up while providing warm pleasantries along the way. Fantastic service.
4) The assistants washing hair couldn’t be nicer, more pleasant, and wonderfully gentle and relaxing with their hands when washing/​conditioning your hair. I love it. If you feel like chatting, they will indulge with lovely banter. If you rather sit back and relax they will accommodate while providing a lovely scalp massage.
5) It’s in the Trump Tower with incredible views of the Chicago River. The level of luxury in the Trump building is unmatched in the city and the views are just as good. It’s just a treat going to the salon and hanging out there. Amazing.
Bottom line, this is the best salon in Chicago hands down for both men and women and easily in the top 1% across the United States. Men, don’t be afraid… this place doesn’t just cater toward women and you will not only feel welcome and comfortable but I can guarantee you will have a great experience.

Todd for color and Lynnae for cut and style! They are purely Amazing!!!
This salon is so worth it after how great both Todd and Lynnae made me look. I had gotten a horrible bayalage color at another hair salon and Todd was able to completely fix it. I’m still in shock as to how he transformed my hair from looking like a cheap mess to gorgeous hollywood hair. Then Lynnae gave me a beautiful haircut and was even kind enough to give me a little lesson on how to curl my hair with an curling iron. Also, the two receptionist were very sweet and helpful upon my arrival.
I literally almost started crying when my hair was all done because I’ve never had my hair look so pretty. I felt glamorous and I’m not exaggerating. This place lived up to all the great things I read about it. I can’t thank them all enough for the wonderful experience I had after suffering the nightmare I had with my hair at another salon.
Another cool thing about this salon is that they can give you a mani and pedi while your hair is getting done. I’m definitely doing that next time.

I want to communicate to you that I had the best experience for the first time I visited Chicago.
I found this place on Unilocal & I totally recommend to everyone they come visit.

It wasn’t difficult to find Anthony’s studio (and I use that term deliberately). Since moving into the city, Trump Tower has glistened like the Ivory Tower in The Neverending Story, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I checked out the amenities. I made an appointment on a whim this morning and was delighted to learn that the salon’s namesake (Anthony) was available for a cut as early as 10 a.m. Upon arriving, I noted that everything was «state of the art,» and I could see Mr. Trump’s «everything has got to be top of the line» mantra in the gleaming white salon chairs, the dark and not even slightly faded black robe hanging in my own, individual dressing room, and the understated hydrangea bunches that peeked out from the corners.
I was greeted by Anthony’s «assistant,» Jessica, an impossibly lovely young woman who would look more at home between the covers of Vogue than in a midwestern salon. But rather than putting on airs, she set me at ease with her hospitality. I realized that, at bottom, this salon was part of that nearly extinct tradition of hospitality that once marked the greatest of hoteliers – this subtle distinction is just one of the things that sets Anthony Cristiano’s apart from other «salons.»
I arrived at 9:50. Anthony’s assistant washed, blow dried, and ironed my hair before Anthony so much as picked up a pair of scissors. He had me stand behind the chair, while he sat on a step stool to cut the back of my hair. «Cutting» is, however, such a deficient term for what Anthony does. Although he was rather chatty with the client right before me, he worked wordlessly with me, and it became clear within just a few minutes that Anthony considered each hair on my head and what role it would play in the overall vision he had for me. He employed surgical precision with executing that vision, but his hands were always gentle and sensitive. In the end, I felt like he was painting a portrait – not just cutting hair.
At the ¾ mark, I asked if I could get a sip of the water that Jessica had left for me at the outset, and he said, «I’m sorry, of course or course. Sometimes, it gets a little intense, because I get so focused…» Was it any wonder that by the time he was putting the finishing touches on my brand new hair, I was eyeing the other women in the salon with something that felt a lot like jealousy? «Beautiful, beautiful,» he kept saying to me, and though I’m certain he says this to all his clients, perhaps it was his charming accent that made the words particularly tailored for me.
It was well after noon before I finally walked out the door. Though my wallet was quite a bit lighter, Anthony left me feeling like a million bucks. Worth every penny.
