Babies, Tots n’ More Children’s Consignment

I have shopped every sale since my son (now 4) was born. So many amazing deals for clothes, shoes and toys. The pricing is set by the consignor so it varies, but always great deals to be found. The largest selection is for newborn through infant — mostly since it is the most gently used before they grow out it of it. But I have been able to buy most clothes for an upcoming season for my son through 5 – 6 (his current size). I highly recommend signing up for the Pre-​Sale the first night. Either volunteer or purchase a sneak peek ticket. You’ll find the best deals and the largest selection. I’ll be a consignor for the upcoming sale and I’ve found the process to be easy and straightforward. Looking forward to making a few extra $$ instead of just taking it all to goodwill.

I attended the sale at Daystar School. As soon as I walked in the door, I was handed a giant bag and given directions on where to find what type of item. Each room was well organized — the clothing was sorted by size, baby items were sorted by category, etc. Great deals to be found, helpful staff, and parking was free and ample. I will definitely be back!

I look forward to this sale every year as both a consigner and a shopper. The process to sell is super easy and convenient. It has really helped me to stay motivated about spring cleaning and trying to minimize the amount of «stuff» that we keep. I am always amazed at the check that I get back from all of the things that I am able to sell. I have had a ton of luck with clothing, shoes, toys and books. I love that I can drop it all off to one place and then eagerly await what feels like a bonus check in return! I have also had great luck as a shopper. Last year I was able to pick up a new bike for my son. It was in excellent condition at a third of the price of a new one. I am already looking forward to this spring’s event!

I have been a shopper and a seller many times and tell EVERYONE I know about this sale. Three are some really amazing finds and it’s a great way to get rid of gently used things and make some $$$. Would highly recommend to anyone who is expecting or has small children.

I’m always looking forward to this event. I’ve been a consignor, volunteer and shop every season. I’ve consigned at other places and this event is by far my favorite.
When you consign for the first time, it can feel a little overwhelming, but once you learn the system, it get’s easy. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the opportunity to sell my things at this consignment. I’m able to be clutter free, selling the things my kids don’t use and buying the things they need.
Owner is very responsive. They have never lost my things. I once forgot something I have purchased, the owner saved the item for me and I picked it up at the next sale.

I signed up to sell my items I no longer needed. I was a first time consigner so it was all very new to me. I read the site as to how they like to have their things packaged, tagged, hung, etc. It was a bit confusing to me. I placed items that I wanted to sell together, like a 4 pack of onesies in a zip lock bag. About a couple weeks prior to the sale an email was sent out saying no zip lock bags. I emailed inquiring on how they would like them to be packaged, they informed me and they did include more detailed description on their site so people would know. When I reread the site I did notice it said no zip lock bags but under the tips section it mentioned to use zip lock bags. I again inquired about this cause I wasn’t sure then if I could just leave mine they way they were or to change it, the point is to get your stuff sold, not return home with them. They will send your stuff back with you if its not to their requirements. I also suggested that instead of giving out the hangers to the buyers, take the hangers off the clothes when someone purchases clothes, make a pile of hangers so when people come back to collect the items that didn’t sell they can also take hangers so when the next sale comes along they already have hangers, cuts down on the cost for the consigner. My return response was that I was being to critical and that I am welcome to come to the spring event but to look for a different consignment sale in the future. If you like to have grown adults throw a temper tantrum because you asked a question or had a concern than this is the sale for you, otherwise I would find a different sale to go to where the person running it is adult enough to answer questions without pouting.

As a new mom, I was pretty psyched that this was going on near my house. I’m a thrift/​consignment shopping addict and had high hopes for what was promised to be a huge event. In the end, though, what I found was sort of like a Goodwill.
This isn’t really a «store» — it’s a consignment sale that happens for about two weeks a year. Families collect, price, tag, and drop off their used baby/​kids stuff and receive 65% of the paid price in return. There are lots of «pre-​sales» that you have to register for or volunteer to get in to, supposedly since the best stuff goes first.
The sale opened on Wednesday for pre-​sale and I didn’t make it there till Thursday at 4pm. By the time I arrived, things were pretty severely picked over. Toys were either priced unreasonably high or didn’t work. The clothing was all over the place but most was either very worn or nice but priced too high. There were plenty of the things nobody wants to buy– used breast pumps, crib bedding sets, plaid shorts in baby sizes– but very little of the good stuff. I walked out with a swim set for $ 6.50 and a couple of $ 4 rompers, but I felt I could have easily found these same items at the same prices at Goodwill.
Here’s the question I can’t answer yet though– is it that BTNM is not a good sale? Or that I came too late for the good stuff? Hmm. I’ll go for a pre-​sale next time and report back.
