Can’t say enough about this place. Called them about my 12-​year-​old Dyson when the beater bar was failing. They knew exactly what the problem was, gave me a quote and told me to bring it in. They replaced the clutch and beater bar and tuned it up, and it’s good as new again. Took a little long for the repairs (about 10 days or so) but they offered a loaner vacuum, which I declined — easy enough to borrow from a neighbor.
Some people might balk at the prices — total repair was $ 190. But if you have a $ 500 12-​year-​old vacuum, $ 190 isn’t a lot to pay to have it run like new again!

I went in about 6 weeks ago looking for a good quality vacuum. We have significant allergies in our household, and so we needed something with a closed system and a good filter, and my research suggested that a Miele was the best option, but we wanted to talk to someone in person. From the moment we walked in Mike was friendly and helpful. The showroom is small but uncluttered. Mike listened to what we needed, and the information about the research that I did, and then expanded from there. He talked about several features, and agreed that the Miele sounded like the best option, but he actually talked us down to a different model than the one we had been looking at, because it had different tools and it was even slightly less expensive than the one we had been looking at. We had been looking at the pet model, because of the rotating furniture brush. He said that he didn’t think that it was fully necessary, but that if we decided to go with the other model, and then needed the other brush, that he would discount it. But he was completely right. The tools that came with the model that we got have been perfect. And several of the other tools that came with the model we ended up with (but not with the pet version) have come in very handy! At no point was he pushy, or did he try to upsell us on anything. He seemed really invested in making sure we got the best vacuum for our needs.
We have had the vacuum for several weeks now, and I just love it. I actually took it out yesterday because I was bored, and decided to play with the tool that lets you easily clean on top of ceiling fans and molding (one of the ones that would not have come with the pet version, but is great for cutting down on the allergen spread). This is the only vacuum that I have ever used because it’s fun to play with. It just works so well!
Other great things about the shop are a discount on bags for life, and that there is a maintenance deal too. We got to try out the model on a bunch of different kinds of flooring, and Mike showed us how some of the specialty tools worked. He took the time to demonstrate how to change the bags, and how the different sensors work, so we knew when to change filters and bags and such. Right before we left, Mark (who I believe is the owner) came out and chatted with us a bit. It turns out he had recently visited the Miele factory in Germany, and was telling us a bit about the company. It is a family owned company that takes good care of its employees. This made me twice as happy, because not only were we able to support a local business, but a good manufacturing company as well. We were there for almost an hour, and I never thought I could have such a good time shopping for a vacuum. And as we were leaving, we were discussing lunch options, and Mike gave us a great recommendation for the place next door, Racine Plumbing Bar and Grill. I am so glad he told us about it, because our lunch was AMAZING and we probably never would have tried the place otherwise. I actually thought it was a plumbing store when I drove by it in the past!
The moral of the story is… go here. You will not be disappointed.

Brought my Miele upright in, very poor suction. Was only a clog, which they took care of in no time. They also cleaned the unit, it looks brand new, and through in a new bag. These folks are honest and friendly. So rare these days. Highly recommend them for any and all of your vacuum needs. Repair, or new purchase.

Admittedly, I only needed a simple repair to my Venta humidifier, so I didn’t have the benefit of a full shopping/​purchasing experience, but my short interaction with the two gents behind the counter was very positive. They repaired the beast right on the spot and off I went.
While there, I eyed a lot of goodies. The next time I need a vacuum, I’ll be coming here.

Can’t say enough about the service we received at Best Vacuum, Inc. yesterday morning when shopping for a high quality vacuum that would last. We had done some research before going to the shop and had some ideas about possible options but wanted to speak with someone directly, get some expert advice, and get a chance to try out some models before committing. We got all of those things and then some. The shop is a pleasant space. There are a number of sample models, and all kinds of different flooring samples so that you can try out the vacuums on the flooring that is closest to your own. Mike helped us, and he was extremely knowledgable and friendly. He listened to the details of our situation first, before making any suggestions. Then he gave us a quick crash-​course on what we should be really looking for in a vacuum cleaner, as well as the most important characteristics by which we should compare vacuums. He also gave us a few tips about the bad mass-​produced vacuum cleaners that we see at department stores and why they are bad. I have a bad pet allergy in particular, but we have a cat in the house. So I was skeptical as to the benefit that a vacuum cleaner would do for our house environment. But Mike was quite confident that I would notice an immediate difference in my health once we started using the vacuum. And he was right. His demonstrations were great, and he allowed us to test drive the vacuums ourselves at the store.
The experience was so positive that I went away from the store very happy that I gave them my business, and knowing how important social media and online reviews are to independent specialty stores these days, I couldn’t wait to get back to my computer and gush about the experience, to express my appreciation.
If you live in Chicago or Oak Park (they have a location there), or anywhere near, and you have vacuum needs, this is the only place you need to know about.

When a business calls itself Best Vacuum it has big shoes to fill. But this place did not disappoint. Everything about my experience was 5 stars — Tom helped me by picking three good vacuum cleaner choices to fit my needs, he answered all my questions, and when I made my decision he provided great customer service by setting up delivery for my vacuum since I did not drive to the store. My Miele vacuum cleaner was delivered today and it is perfect!

About 10 years ago I purchased a Miele vacuum at Best Vacuum. To say it has been put to good use is an understatement. With two boys and a shedding dog, it has been used and abused. I have been pretty diligent about bringing it in for yearly maintenance and the folks at Best Vacuum have always been so great. They gave me a loaner while mine was being serviced, they never tried to get me to buy a new one. They were prompt with repairs and always so professional.
I recently decided to trade the 10 year old Miele in for a new vacuum. I called the shop before stopping in to find out what my best options were for a new one. They asked me lots of questions (flooring, square footage, pets, etc.) and recommended the Sebo D4 Premium. I stopped in the store the next day with my 3 year old in tow. The guy helping me was so nice! He got my son involved, allowing him to test out the vacuums, he explained why this was the best choice for my needs, he gave me a full demonstration and ultimately assembled it for me. In addition he threw in the pet brush (a tool that comes with a smaller model) because I need it and he didn’t want me to choose the smaller version just for the brush as it wouldn’t meet my needs. As we were finishing up at the counter, he ran downstairs and came up with a brand new Dyson toy vacuum for my son and told him it was his. My son was SO thrilled and appreciative and plays with it all the time. He carried my new Sebo out to the car and I was on my way.
Best Vacuum is the kind of business that doesn’t seem to exist anymore:

A note to thank the folks at Best Vacuum for their help during what turned out to be a rather silly visit. I brought my ~6– or 7-​year-​old Dyson upright in to address a hose that had come disconnected and thus didn’t have any suction.
I figured the hose (flexible plastic) had just dried out, become brittle and ripped away from the housing. Didn’t think to look more carefully to find that it had only come loose from a removable connector ring, which, when removed from the vacuum and reinstalled on the hose, popped right back into place.
Bing bang boom, the gent in the store had it back in place in under a minute and refused payment for his time. He did suggest an overall service on the vac that would have run about $ 60, but it wasn’t in my budget and he didn’t push too hard. On our way out of the store, he even offered to test it to ensure he’d fixed the problem… tossed some «demo dirt» down on the floor and sucked it right up. Reminded me a little of the archetypal door-​to-​door vacuum salesman’s trick to close the sale (or leave a mess behind), but at least it wasn’t my floor he was dirtying.
Good experience, a more-​than-​fair price for this quick-​and-​dirty service visit, and should the need arise, I’ll be back.

I ordered Miele descaling tablets and cleaning tablets for the coffeemaker. The cost was $ 60 with free shipping. The tablets were in boxes, and were shipped in a bubble wrap padded envelope, which allowed the boxes to be crushed during shipping. I wrote an email to the service department, and the next day they responded with an apology and shipment of replacements for the damaged product.

I buy a LOT of stuff on Amazon for the convenience and price but I’ve been making an effort to buy locally when I can because I think supporting local businesses is important. I steeled myself to pay more for the vacuum I wanted than Amazon could have offered and chalk it up to supporting local economy.
Turns out, I wasn’t doing this store a favor by shopping there, they did ME the favor. First, the price was exactly the same as Amazon but he offered a 10% discount to Chicago residents. Awesome!
Second, I had had questions about the various models that I was having a hard time finding answers to online. The guy at the store (I’m sorry, I’m blanking on his name but he was the BEST) was so darn knowledgeable and was able to answer every question I had with honesty and without trying to «upsell». He actually seemed concerned when I was leaning towards a more expensive model, like he didn’t want me to be pressured into buying more than I was willing to.
I ended up getting a great deal, some awesome freebies, priceless information, and an extended warranty. For free. Absolutely would recommend this place to every and anybody looking to buy a vavuum. It helps that I’m super biased towards the Miele brand (which is one of the 2 brands they carry, the other being Dyson — at least, those are the 2 brands I saw).
TL; DR: buy your vacuum here and then thank me later.

Our old walmart-​purchased Dyson wasn’t cutting it anymore and we were interested in a miele vacuum after hearing that the brand was one of the best. We were originally going to buy from amazon, but we weren’t certain about some of the differences between the models and decided to stop in.
I’m glad we did. Best Vacuum was extremely friendly and helpful and was able to answer all of our questions about the different models, brush types, accessories, and more. We were even able to demo as much as we wanted with different stuff.
And, Best Vacuum gave us a Chicago resident discount as well as some other perks for purchasing from them. An outstanding experience. If you’re thinking about getting a new vacuum, you cannot do better than to purchase here.

I have a dyson and thought it was completely broken. I felt really stupid because it was only a reset button that I didn’t see. In my defense, I did purchase from someone else and I did not have a manual. The guys were very nice and showed me that it was the button and did not call me out for being blonde. Also showed me a couple of other tricks to the vaccum. Very nice and friendly and they also offer you a loaner machine if yours is needing repaired. Highly recommend them and will go back when my actual vaccuum is needing fixed.

I went here to have my Dyson vacuum repaired as the suction was basically done for. They had my repairs done within 4 days at a very fair price. They also cleaned my vacuum from top to bottom included in the service price. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I’ve only been to their Oak Park store, which is, by the way, beautiful. I love and trust their product selection as well as their expertise. I purchased an air purifier from them five years ago and a vacuum cleaner last year. They care about helping you choose the right product for you. Their after-​sale customer care is outstanding. They are knowledgeable, polite and very helpful. They also give discounts to their repeat customers. I just love these guys and am glad they’re in Oak Park.

Ordered a Vacuum from them and they called me after a contracted price to give me an extra 10% discount. Great people and incredible service. I ordered a product at 5:00 P.M. from Connecticut and received it the next day from Illinois. Incredible.

Had my vacuum repaired there and also bought a new Miele. Simply put, the best service, products and pricing you can find anywhere. I wish all companies were like Best Vacuum.

Never thought i’d go to a vacuum store let alone write a review about a vacuum store. So, this should tell you it’s a great place. Initially they even tried suggesting I go to an official Dyson repair shop to get it covered under warranty (but it was too old). Great service and nice clean place! Go with trust.

I chose to buy my new vacuum from here because of all of the positive reviews! I have NOT been disappointed. I already knew I wanted to buy a Miele Olympus, I was just trying to find a good place to purchase it. They were not only the same price as other places, they included FREE overnight shipping. When I recently had a hose issue, they responded to my email within minutes and sent me a new one! Nothing but love for this company!

when my 4 year old Bissel vacuum started blowing stuff out, instead of sucking it in, I searched Unilocal to find a repair shop. even though I live in Logan Square,
I drove to Lincoln Square with the hopes of getting our vacuum fixed.
I lugged the beast in and Eddie (I think? younger guy) came to help me. he took my vacuum apart, showed me 3 areas where the vacuum was broken, and told me what it’d cost to fix… it was basically the cost of the vacuum, around $ 100.
to be honest, I HATED that vacuum. it was an upright and I’m short– uprights are like ¾ my height! it was hard to lug around, it didn’t get in the nooks, it smelled. oh and it was bag-​less, so it was always disgusting to clean out.
I asked Eddie to tell me what I should buy if I wanted something that would be good with pet hair and easy to move around. he immediately showed me the the Miele Delphi. I was sold… until I heard the price. WOOF.
the he told me the perks: I’d get 15% off for trading my old vacuum in (I wouldn’t have to take that dirty piece of crap home?! sweet!), I’d get a free Hepa filter, a packet of bags, a warranty, AND 15% off purchases and repairs for LIFE?! plus I could come in for check-​ups if I needed any reminders on how to clean out the brush head.
at first I was like «yeaaaaah, I’ll wait… I’ll consider it… I’ll think about it» but then I was like «you know what? I’m gonna go for it.» Eddie made me feel so comfortable and was so nice. and I needed a vacuum!
the final price was not so painful– it was easily $ 150 cheaper than what I’d pay elsewhere (I checked!). and I felt so adult and fancy investing in a vacuum cleaner!
once home, I put it together and gave it a go on our toughest rug. AND IT WAS AMAZING. then I vacuumed all the baseboards. AND IT WAS AMAZING. then I vacuumed the couch and the chairs. AND IT WAS AMAZING. I WANT TO VACUUM EVERYTHING.
moral of the story: Best Vacuum is AMAZING and I am so so so so so so so happy with my new Miele. it might be my new best friend. thanks Best Vacuum!!!

I’m a fan. These guys know their vacuums.
I went in for a Miele. I figured this would be the pace to go based on the Unilocal reviews.
The salesperson asked me about the kinds of floors I had and steered me to the right model. Never mind that it was the least expensive model. And, because I bought it from a Miele dealer it came with extras you don’t get if you buy on line. And, they give a discount to offset local sales tax to keep competitive with online.
If you live in Chicago and are in the market for a non-​disposable vacuum, give these guys a visit. It’s worth the trip.
