Chicagoland Men’s Health

My first appointment with Chicagoland Men’s Health was back in July of 2015 and I have been a patient of theirs for the last 7 months. Here is my experience:

Within a few hours I received a call from the clinic director Dr Michael Kauf. He was very patient and understanding and took the time to talk with me about my situation and answer all of my initial questions.
The reasons I had for looking into testosterone replacement therapy was lack of energy/​fatigue, low sex drive, trouble sleeping, loss of muscle mass, and increased body fat. Dr. Kauf took the time to talk through all this with me and he was very knowledgeable.
I scheduled an appt to get my blood work done and meet with their medical doctor, Dr Tom Albert. I met with Dr Albert at their 1 E Delaware Place office (Very nice high end office) and we went into great detail on my blood test results as well as all the symptoms I was experiencing.
There was no pressure at all. Dr Albert talked me through what I could expect if I started testosterone replacement as well as how long it would take to see the optimum benefits. He also explained that they do free follow up blood work to track my progress and make any adjustments to the prescriptions as needed. They didnt rush me at all and there was no pressure.
I started my testosterone replacement therapy the second week of July 2015. During the first few months I did have a few questions and Dr Kauf was always available or promptly returned my call to answer my questions. 5 Stars for personal attention and follow up.
After 3 months of being on testosterone replacement therapy I received a call from the Chicagoland Men’s Health office to schedule my free 3 month follow up blood work and Dr Appt. I met again with Dr Albert and Dr Kauf and we went into great detail reviewing my blood work and also talking about the benefits I was experiencing. Both Dr Kauf and Dr Albert are both in very good physical shape and we even talked about supplements, workout options and eating habits to loose more fat and gain more muscle. They are both really knowledgeable guys and I enjoy meeting with them.
THE RESULTS — I guess is does come down to the results.
— After starting testosterone replacement therapy, I immediately experienced a big increase in sex drive and sexual performance. After 6 months now, this benefit has gotten better and better!
— 3 – 4 weeks after starting I started to notice more energy and less fatigue and every week I notice more and more energy. I dont get tired in the middle of the day anymore.
— Its been a little over 6 months and Ive lost 25+ pounds of fat and gained easily 10 pounds of muscle. I do workout 3 x a week and also do yoga. My gut is almost gone and Im shooting for a 6 pack for this spring.
— I can now sleep 8 hours strait and wake up feeling great and well rested.
In the beginning I was a bit skeptical about starting testosterone replacement therapy but looking back at my decision, it was 100% the right decision. I feel like Im 25 years old again (Im 45).

I have to start with I never leave reviews, positive or negative but, my experience with Chicagoland Men’s Health has been awesome!
I previously tried Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) with an out of state TRT center. The experience was okay but, lacked personal attention. I went to Chicagoland Men’s Health after hearing commercials on a local sports radio show. I called and made an appointment to talk about the issues I had been having. I was surprised at how quickly I got an appointment and more surprised to meet directly with Dr. Kauf.
We discussed what to expect; losing some belly fat, better sleep and generally feeling better, stereotypical stuff. Due to advertised price, I fully expected to be pressured to add services or additional therapy. I also expected Dr. Kauf to pass me to a staff member once I started the program. Neither happened; I received my meds within 3 days of payment and Dr. Kauf followed up personally with a phone call to ensure I had received everything as expected. Dr. Kauf has taken this personal approach since I’ve been on the program.
Dr. Kauf followed up about 4 weeks after starting the program to ask me to come in to check my blood work, scheduling the second visit was tough due to my schedule however, Dr. Kauf offered to have a phlebotomist come to me. After receiving my blood work Dr. Kauf called to let me know my cholesterol levels were high (LDL), he told me to make sure I let my Physician know and due to my body’s metabolism, I could reduce my TRT dosages. I was happy to have another source looking at my cholesterol although I didn’t expect it and I appreciate how thorough Chicagoland Men’s health is.
The last and most important thing to me is I’ve been on TRT with Chicagoland Men’s Health for about 6 months, I’ve lost about 12lbs, my waist has shrunk from 34″ to a 30″ and my muscle tone hasn’t been this good in 15 years.
Sorry for the long review but, Dr. Kauf and his team are great, they earned it.

Over the past two years I had witnessed a significant decline in my mental and physical health. I had developed a long list of symptoms that I generally attributed to «stress».
I gained weight I found myself less and less motivated to go to the gym, but with the metabolism of a cadaver it’s hard to imagine being motivated to do anything. Of course the persistent fatigue didn’t help either. It would take me nearly 2 hours of steady coffee to be able to ‘face the world’. By the time I hit the gym at 6, I was soo exhausted just from living my life that the last thing on my mind was exercise. Working out became a stressor, tapping what precious energy I had left at the end of the day. I would get «cardio head» from the slightest exertion, and I had to plan around my workouts. My entire life became about timing my day so that I would have time to recover from it.
I eventually developed insomnia and suffered from poor sleep quality. I would get 4 – 5 hours of sleep per night on average. I never really had trouble falling asleep (I was soo damn tired all the time), but I would often wake up at 2 or 3am and not be able to return to bed.
But by FAR my worst symptom was the cognitive impairment. Some people call it ‘brain fog’, to me it felt like cotton was stuffed in my head. I wasn’t as sharp as I used to be, I struggled to recall words, and it always felt like I wasn’t firing on all cylinders.
After dealing with an ever increasing and worsening list of symptoms, I finally found the root cause. Within 3 days of my first treatment I was off all other medication. My depression and insomnia were gone and I had more energy than I knew what to do with. Within a week I had lost 5 lbs, and increased my bench, squat, and deadlifts by 20%. I honestly feel like I’m half my age, which my wife was of course thrilled about. I’m sharp as a shark’s tooth, and haven’t been this clear mentally in years. I now look forward to my workouts, and my work.

On the way to work and they described everything i was feeling. I went in and within 2 weeks i was new man. 3 mos later i have lost almost 25 lbs and have way more energy and happiness. To say my love life is improved is an understatement lol
