Classic Nails

Came here with a friend who lives nearby and loves this place. I can see why! Super relaxed, friendly environment with excellent polish assortment, comfy massage chairs, and really great service. Had a gel mani and regular pedi with Jesse, the owner who is so nice and gracious! Also very efficient with the actual nail treatments. I can’t stop looking at my phalanges ;).

Jesse is amazing and is the owner of a fairly new shop. I got a gel fill in with a no chip polish and it came out beautiful. I can’t stop looking at my nails. Jesse takes her time on your nails and will not fail you. It was my first time here and it won’t be my last. Welcoming atmosphere and very friendly. They also serve wine.

Just got back from classic nails on Belmont. The new owners are very nice and the service was great! I got the no chip manicure and regular pedicure and was very satisfied. They have a large variety of colors and materials to select from. The nail tech took her time with me and the leg massage was awesome! They also offer other services like waxing etc. so it’s a great one stop spot. I will definitely be coming here for all my nail services and will recommend it to everyone. You won’t be disappointed. Give the new staff a try.

I just finished getting my fill in and gel polish with Jessie! She is absolutely amazing! I’ve been going to her for several months and she’s grown my natural nails out so long. She’s the best and her shop is centrally located for her customers.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else, I always go to Jesse and she never fails me!!! She’s now the new owner of this shop and I cannot wait to see what she has in store! I get gel nails and gel polish on top, and she does a superb job! I know she won’t let anyone walk out with anything less than perfection Come in and see for yourself!

Jessie is amazing!!! She knew exactly what I wanted and was a perfectionist which I love! So wonderful to talk to and listened to how I wanted my nails. The environment is relaxing and warm. Not crazy and loud like some other nail places!!! Highly recommend Classic Nails!

Wonderful place, clean and comfortable. Under new management and they’ve made some really nice improvements! I drive out of my way to get manis/​pedis here. They just got a bunch of new colors in, too.

Thank you for saving my nails! I walked in without an appointment from another nail salon (literally) and the 2 owners were so kind. The technician removed the no-​chip half removed by the previous salon and continued with a very professional manicure. I was impressed with her attention to caring for my nail to not further damage them! The salon is under new ownership and I will definitely be back.

Amazing! Tina completely saved my nails. After having a terrible experience at my last nail place, I decided to try a new one and think I’ve finally found a place to call my nail home in Chicago! Shape, thickness, and price all perfect! I can be pretty OCD about my nails and pick at them if they aren’t perfect. Tina made me feel so comfortable telling her exactly what I wanted and I left happy as a clam. The new shellac colors they have are gorgeous! $ 30 for an acrylic fill with no chip? Unheard of! I can’t wait to go back for a pedi soon!

This is always my go to location for nails! Tina the owner is so good at painting as is Tiffany! New (probably not how you spell it) is the go to person for the no chips. This location is BYOB they offer water as well. The prices are the fairest in the neighborhood. I bring my daughter along and she will not allow me to go anywhere else. For her nails and toes just to paint, they charge 8 bucks and for a full mani and pedi for her its only $ 15! She get to sit in the massage chair and get her feet and nails soaked SAME services as us ladies! Mon –Wed they offer a special on Mani and Pedi’s I think its only $ 30 but it may be $ 35 but for this single mom its the BEST price in town. I really love my ladies here.

Walked in on a Saturday morning with my mom, who was visiting from out of town. We are used to having to wait if you don’t call ahead and make reservations. Not this place! They were above and beyond accommodating and even asked what channel we would like the TV set too!
They do a great gel as well as carrying all Essie colors! For two deluxe pedicures and one gel manicure it cost us about $ 75 without tip. That’s the best price I’ve seen in a long time.
I’m also new to the city and they were very talkative about the neighborhood and where the hotspots are and all about the street fests.
Now my mother, an opinionated Texas woman who is impossible to please, was pleased!!! A+ in my book

I don’t get the Unilocal!hate for Classic Nails, either. I really really like this place!
I strolled in late on a Saturday morning and they saw me right away. Even though they had a big hen party coming in soon after me for both manis and pedis, my nail tech didn’t rush AT ALL. She was very thorough and friendly, without being overly chatty. And she did an amazing job with no no-​chip mani: it lasted nearly two weeks! And it was a deal, too!
It’s very clean and spacious inside– looks like it was some generic office space, but it’s been nicely converted to something comfortable and open.
I also have to give them serious credit for dealing so well with that hen party. Dear Lord– there were MAYBE 6 brain cells between this pack of condescending, aging Trixies… but the Classic Nails staff dealt with them with serious professionalism. Kudos– I sure wouldn’t be able to handle it!
I’ll definitely definitely be back– they have a loyalty program!

Dude. What’s all the Unilocal Angst about. Srsly, this place ain’t bad. It’s not even half bad. It’s actually quite fabulous… especially for the price.
Had a wonderful mani/​pedi sesh at Classic Nails and fully intend to return soon.
Found the salon while driving in the ‘hood down Belmont and once inside, was pleasantly surprised that it was actually much nicer than I expected… loved the look here and appreciated the nice, new pedicure chairs, tasteful décor, cleanly everything and sprawling array of current Us Weekly’s, People’s, In Style’s, etc. for our reading pleasure. A girl’s gotta get in her gossip somewhere and, of course, I love doing it on somebody else’s dime ;-)
Polish colors were OPI and Essie exclusive (score!) and the selection was bountiful. Went with a nice shade of milky pink that my tech, Tiffany, expertly applied and then sat back and watched some CNN coverage with me on the nice, large flat screen. Loved it.
I found out they also do no chip at only $ 18/​mani so I’ll be hitting that up before my vacation for some nice, long-​lasting digit attention.
No angst here, this place is a Classic!

Love this place! It’s right down the street from me and holy crap are the massage chairs AMAZING. Always have space for a walk-​in AND it’s a BYOB… doesn’t get much better. The ladies who work here are eally nice and friendly always very thankful for the business. I’ve become a bit of a regular and always bring out of town friends here. Brought 12 girls in for a bachlorette party, which we scheduled a month in advance and it was awesome… they even had a bottle of champagne for the bride to be! So great!
The only reason I didn’t give the full 5 starts is: 1) they always have the tv on cnn (not my idea of relaxing) and 2) the massage on the pedicure could be longer, but i’m spoiled b/​c I used to practice massage so my standards are pretty high. But all in all, great spot!

Buyer’s remorse averted!
A year ago I bought two You Swoops for The Classic Nails Shop based on their few, but positive reviews. However, when I looked them up a few months later there was an avalanche of negative reviews that had me ruing my decision to buy even one; it was at that point I began crafting a list of nemeses (nemesi?) to pawn them off on.
I’m not sure what made me revisit their Unilocal page, but I noticed an uptick in reviews and positive comments about new management; with great trepidation I decided to use my first certificate this past Fall and was pleasantly surprised. The salon isn’t fancy or spa-​like, but the equipment looks newer; there are approximately 6 manicure tables and 6 pedicure stations with the massage chairs. They also have a nice selection of mindless magazines to get me up-​to-​speed on important stuff like vases are out, bouquets are in*. Both visits, I was able to get in quickly, even when I used my second certificate a few days before expiration — just like a good little procrastinator should.
I found both visits to be consistent and good, even the second time when they were dealing with an endless stream of stragglers. I don’t really have any complaints about my manicure experience. Both times the technician who helped me was efficient and proficient. However, the pedicure left a bit to be desired. Both times it seemed like my feet soaked only briefly before they got down to business. I also wish there was more massaging, exfoliating and pumicing of my feet. However, the polish job on my toes was fantastic, I was able to go days without chips.
All in all, I’m glad I decided to use my You Swoops. I can’t say this is my new favorite, go-​to nail shop, but I think there’s something to be said for consistency. 3.5 stars
*Take note gentleman

When your dearest of friends departs and bestows unto you a youswoop for a mani-​pedi with the stern admonition «DO NOT LET IT GO TO WASTE,» you use it. Right?
So, use it I did. One mental health day meant I was gonna do a little primping. It was very easy for me to make an appointment for a Friday so in I went.
The salon is clean, massage chairs in top working order, and the assortment of tabloids was impressive. My chosen colors were springy as an Easter egg (despite the decidedly unspringy temperature we’ve had as of late) and I was off on my way to pretty fingers and toes. Excellent selection of Essie, my fave.
As I watched some Entertainment show with Billy Bush attempt to make Amanda Pete belch on their show (for serious), my toes were painted a raspberry red and my finger tips were the color of lilacs. Twenty minutes at the drying station and I was on my way. Total time? About an hour and twenty minutes. Pretty standard.
Aside from mishaps on BOTH of my thumbs, I remained relatively chip free for about a week. IMPRESSIVE!
It’s not in my ‘hood, but if I was looking to get pretty and in the area, I’d definitely return. Stamp THIS youswoop USED.

I bought a Groupon for this place, and trying to book an appointment was near impossible. They kept saying they could squeeze me in at 2pm on a weekday afternoon… UMMMM, I’M AT WORK?
Anyways, the girl who did my pedicure was very sweet and did a great job. The woman who did my manicure was rude, and I’m not kidding, did my entire manicure in 10 minutes. It was terrifying. She cut my cuticles way too fast for comfort. Also, the entire time I was getting my manicure I could hear children screaming/​crying (I’m assuming they were hers because she was the only person still working at this time — it was after 6pm — whom were locked in a back room or closet or something, waiting for her to finish. It was beyond weird.
Anyways, I wondered why they would schedule a 6pm appointment with me and then hurry me out of there with wet nails. I’m not kidding, the lady was waiting at the door with the 2 children at 6:45 tapping her feet, staring at her watch, and jingling her keys to let me know it was time to go. I destroyed my nails as I was leaving which was I was not happy about.
I will use my remaining Groupon earlier in the day and will not let that woman near me again.

So I got a Groupon $ 20 for $ 55 worth of services…$ 55 at this place… uh no!
First let me say that I am not sure if they have even finished building this place. There was nothing but some paint and a TV on the walls… nothing else. There were no places to dry your nails or feet… my nails take a while to dry so I thought I could sit under the light longer… but what light… there was not one, or even a place to sit other than the nail station to dry with a little fan…
So they advertise a «Spa mani/​pedi» all the spa means is a little sea salt rubbed on your legs, I get that with a regular pedi at my normal place. Both services were very rushed. My toe nails were not cut even or filed even. Spa… hmmm, I think someone didn’t explain to them what that means…
I also did waxing, you would think I had learned my lesson looking at the place, but I wanted to give them a fair chance… NEVER AGAIN!!! It was horrible. I did the $ 45 Brazilian wax… lots of hair left, was not gentle at all, didn’t even blow the hot wax, not once. What I asked for was not even… you couldn’t see that…
I’m frustrated and not very happy. At least I only paid $ 20 for the mani/pedi…I would never pay $ 55. I will not be returning here… I felt like I went to one of the hole in the wall shops in NYC…
