I’ve been seeing Marianna for my waxes for years. She is sweet, clean, quick, and professional. And she is soooo affordable! $ 45 for a Brazilian is a steal. I am always blow away when I’m walking out the door fresh and clean and it’s only been 30 min. Book with Marianna today, you won’t regret it!

I got my eyelashes tinted here about a month ago, and they still look great. I have blondish lashes that «disappear» on my face.
It was a nice, relaxing experience, and the tint is still going strong.

5. Everybody knows your name! As soon as I walked in the lady asked my name and verified that I was there for a mani/​pedi. When I confirmed my appointment, she asked me whether I wanted to start with the mani or pedi? I didn’t know that I even had a choice, since I had always been told what to do at other places, and decided to start with a pedi first. Whenever she asked me a question she used my name, yes, my real name. Now that is client service.
4. Leather vs. a Machine Massage! The staff and owner clearly take your comfort into consideration during your visit. I sat on leather couches during my pedi and while my nails dried after my mani. What a nice change from the often broken machine massage chairs at other places. The girl who did my pedi also took into consideration how comfortable I was while she painted my toes. She moved the foot rest around to ensure that I was sitting at a comfortable angle. She also gave a lengthy foot massage, a definite upgrade over the 30 second ‘massages’ I tend to receive at other places.
3. Relaxing and Quiet! I went in around 5:15pm on a Wednesday evening. I was the only client there till around 6:15pm. The other client who came was very nice and was chatting with the two employees, she seemed to be a regular. She was so nice that I actually ended up talking with her for some time. Can’t say that I have ever done that while getting my nails done at other places.
2. Newness! Not only did they have the newest colors of OPI and Essie nail polish, but I was also handed a brand new magazine to read during my pedi, not a three week old magazine that has been read 300 times by other people.
1. Quality! I am chip free five days after my mani/​pedi. While other places may advertise a Monday-​Wednesday deal of $ 38 for a mani/​pedi, E Bella’s $ 45 deal was totally worth the extra $ 7. I mentioned during my mani that my nails had been peeling and the lady put a special base coat on to help strengthen my nails at no extra charge. My relaxing hour and a half visit showed me that the workers definitely value their clients and want them to have a calming and enjoyable visit while providing quality nail services.
Needless to say, I think I will be visiting this salon for all my future nail needs.

I’m forever in search of a nail place that combines a relaxing environment with good service.
I’ve had manicures and pedicures in the Gold Coast hair salons/​spas and the Bucktown /​Lincoln Park neighborhood nail express places. You know those express salons where they don’t give you time to select your polish or soak your feet, and run you through an assembly line of nail technicians.
So here is E Bella. A boutique nail salon on a residential street I was attracted to because of the cozy look and feel as I peered through its window one evening.
I walked in on a weekday afternoon without an appointment and Tatyana greeted me and immediately accommodated me for a manicure and pedicure ($ 45). While I looked at the polishes available, she finished up with a client. Tatyana noticed I was having trouble selecting a color and she offered help which I totally appreciated.
The ambiance of the nail salon is very important to me because its my time to relax. E Belle has over sized leather sofas making you feel like your in a living room. The floor to ceiling windows make you feel like your sitting outdoors when the shades are raised. And since its summer, there’s enough greenery outdoors causing you to forget your just a few feet away from Armitage Ave. The ambiance would be perfect for me if they had soothing spa music. It would then be possible to forget your in Chicago. instead, there was a high volume radio station playing through the surround sound speakers (I hate radio commercials).
If you want the modern pedicure massage chairs and station, this is not the place. Here you sit in a leather chair (comfortable for me). I was not happy with the pedicure because my nails were cut and filed unevenly. My left was shorter then the right and I had to try to even them out when I got home. I don’t know if Tatyana was having an off day. The manicure, I appreciate that Tatyana was not intimidated by my cuticles however, she slightly nicked by thumb cuticle. (very apologetic of course)

LOVE E Bella! Lidia and Tatiana are excellent nail technicians! The space is warm, cozy, clean… you feel like you’re at home :) They are always so friendly, accommodating, and make you feel as if you are the only client. Highly Recommend!

I frequently go for facial waxing, and my daughter and I recently had pedicures and manicures there. Staff is so wonderful, fitting you in where ever they can, opening early, etc. Highly recommend. Clean warm space that makes you feel like you are in a spa/​living room. Very friendly staff.

Why bother with this place when there are so many nice nail
places in the area? Owner was rude, nail tech wasn’t very good and when I walked out I noticed there was special pricing in the window but I was never offered it. Seriously don’t bother with this place. They could care less about new customers.

That’s great that Lidia is good at nails but she is horribly rude. Yelling at her employees in front of clients, in Polish with a tone that was clearly condescending and nasty is not only unprofessional but disrespectful to the spa guest & employee. After witnessing exactly that, she plastered a fake smile on her face, introduced herself to me and acted like she hadn’t just insulted the person working on my nails right in front of me. The entire vibe of the salon changed when she took over and not for the better. If anyone knows where Margaret went, please let me know. She actually is the best in the city. And I am very picky about my nails. Btw, they have always offered treats to guests at this salon. It was not Lidia’s idea.

My wife bought me a gift card for a facial father’s day. The gift card had an expiration date and the date was to expire in about a week or so. I called E Bella and asked if they would honor the facial if I went past the expiration date and they replied saying,” no problem”. They said will honor the gift card anytime you come in.
Well when I went to make an appointment for my facial that my wife already paid for the owner accused me of lying and said she would not honor my gift card. I even stopped by the spa to speak with her in person and she again said that she would not honor my gift card and stated that I never talked to anyone from her staff.
I’m beyond disappointed with how I was treated and feel like I was totally scammed. I would also like to mention that I did call on a couple of occasions to schedule my facial only to be told that the person doing the facials wasn’t available.
I’m also a small business owner and I can tell you that if the situation was reversed there would be no doubt that I would honor the gift card. If I didn’t call prior to the expiration of the gift card then I could accept the owner’s decision. However, I called prior to the gift card expiring and was told they would honor the card past the expiration date.
It’s to bad the owner made such a poor business decision as both my wife and my sister-​in-​law get facials on a monthly basis.
For the record I’ve never had a negative post before.

I used to go to Ebella all of the time. I do not like the new owners and miss the old ones. Does anyone know where Katherine (nail tech & waxer) went? I have been going to her for years & I loved her!

I love this place for manis and pedis. They always last much longer than other places and the owner will mix colors specifically for me! They take their time with me and my nails have honestly never looked healthier. I’ve also never had any trouble making an appointment or reaching the spa – They’re always there and even willing to stay a little later to squeeze me in.
I also go here for spa/​waxing services and always feel very comfortable!

Um. Did this place change owners? I hate when that happens.

Just got back from a mani & polish change on my toes. Small, intimate and very nice spa. My mani wasn’t the greatest nor was it the worse. Some nail techs don’t like to cut cuticles, but when they are taking over my nail bed, an exception should be made. My tech was nice and we exchanged pleasant chit chat. That being said, the mani was $ 20 and the polish change was $ 20. THE POLISH CHANGE WAS $ 20??? WHAT THE WHAT!!! I took off my polish last night to cut down on time so all she did was polish my toe nails and they want to charge me $ 20 for that service. My nail tech overheard the conversation I was having with the receptionist regarding the price and took the hit so I wasn’t charged for that service, but come on. I know it’s Bucktown and I just so happen to live AND work at a spa (we just do massage & waxing otherwise one of my co-​workers would have hooked me up) in Bucktown and that is extreme. I probably would have gone back for a mani had they not tried to rip me off. Next time I’ll check out Nail Gallery or that other one.

This place is great. The staff is very friendly, they are extremely accomodating in finding you a appointment that works for you and I just feel like I’m good hands when I’m there.
I’ve gotten a mani and pedi there and certain necessary «maintenance» in the summer time. I never feel uncomfortable and the place is very clean and professional. And I don’t find their pricing to be much different then your standard nail/​waxing salon. What’s not to love?

The salon is under new management and has a new owner. Her name is LIDIA (formerly of Salon 1800). She is the BEST nail tech ever and I should know — I’ve been a client for 10 years. I’m a VERY picky perfectionist and she’s the best by far. Yes, I am a Lidia groupie :) Everyone at the salon is so friendly and don’t be surprised if you are offered some pastries while getting your nails done (I had a piece of chocolate cake and a cookie the other day– yum!).

In stark contrast to the loud and frenetic pace of other salons in Bucktown, this salon is understated and relaxed. It costs a little more, but I’ll never go back to have the crowded, rushed experience at the other places.

I am absolutely baffled by Christine S. and Kathleen A’s inability to find E Bella open. Their hours are similar to, if not the same as, other nail/​facial/​waxing places in Bucktown. Yes, they have an answering machine on when they’re not open — at least you have the option of leaving a message instead of just getting something that says «We’re closed, please call back.»
That said, I could not be more pleased with the service here, and it has been bringing me back for several years now. Michelle always greets you with a smile and she’s always sweet when checking you in and making appointments. I go to Catherine to get my eyebrows waxed and get the occasional facial, and she’s fantastic. I once showed up an hour early for an appointment (I’d written it down wrong), but she said no problem and took me right away. Not many places will do that for you. There’s also another woman who does facials and waxing who took care of me while Catherine was on maternity leave and she was friendly and did a great job as well — I’ve just unfortunately forgotten her name.

I made numerous attempts to make an appointment, and walked by this business many times — I never found them to be open or to have a particularly helpful phone message system. Then, my review was removed presumably because I made a joke (a JOKE people) about it being a mafia front.
In the meantime, I did finally see it was open one Saturday. Considering that it is on my running route and I’ve probably gone past it a hundred times and I’ve only seen it open ONCE, it does not seem user friendly.
So, to summarize, I have never frequented this business, but that is because it is difficult to find it open. I was not impressed with their reservation system (in that there wasn’t one when they weren’t open). Take that into consideration when reading this review. It does look nice inside, which is why I wanted to make an appointment in the first place. The fact that my previous review was removed makes me like this place even less.
