I was amazed at the multitude of high ratings for Factory and now I know why. My muffler was falling off (only two and half years after repairs at another shop) so I contacted Aviv through Unilocal and he replied by message quickly, recommending I bring my ’99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to their Skokie location, because they were able to provide more options to repair the exhaust. Aviv had called ahead to tell them I was coming, so they were expecting me. I got there after work and Noah checked out the Jeep and gave me a very reasonable estimate. Ashley in the office was very helpful as well. What surprised me the most was how quickly they were able to get the work done. I was expecting to sit for at least an hour but it was done in half that time. Noah showed me what they had done, adding that there was some minor extra work required to secure the exhaust properly — no charge — and he also checked out another issue I was having the with hood latch. My sense was that I was dealing with craftsmen — not just fixers. They addressed the immediate problem but also looked a little deeper, not to pad the bill but to see if a «stitch in time» might be advisable to save me more trouble down the road. I know where I will be taking our family cars for repairs in the future. Bravo to Factory and their great crew.

I had the unfortunate experience if waking up to a car that would not budge this morning. Following a disastrous storm, most mechanics were busy and had long wait times. My cousin suggested Factory Muffler and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. AAA towed my car in, Aviv diagnosed the issue immediately AND it was fixed by 4 PM that same day. Professional, dependable, quick and accommodating. I would gladly recommend Factory Muffler to a friend. I’ll be back (but hopefully not too soon!)

They are WONDERFUL! Thought I would need my muffler replaced and was looking at a big cost, but they discovered it was only a loose bolt making all that noise and charged just $ 12 for the repair. These people are HONEST. I am so grateful to have found them.

My car was serviced on September 19, 2014. I waited for some time after before I posted my review because I didn’t want to have to come edit later. You never know. So I dropped my car off the evening before it was repaired. Aviv contacted me and told what needed to be fixed. Now what I appreciated was he even recommended other repair shops in the event I couldn’t afford his price. Which encouraged me to do business with him for sure. Picked up the car and it drove like new. He even informed me about changing my transmission fluid. The service is rare. They make you want to do something to your car just to go back sooner. God bless and more success to them. I read reviews about them and had to see for myself. If there where more stars to give, I would!

Bottom line you can trust your vehicle to be repaired @ honest price! I have taken car for all major repairs to owners father in Skokie for years. Just found out that the son runs this Devon shop. Like father like son quick, trust worthy, good people. Just got oil change, owner mentioned may need new tires soon, I asked for quote he gave me best price he found, definitely will be returning!

Excellent place to bring your car. I have been coming here since I was 17 when I had my first car. My mom has been bringing her car since before i was born. Trusting people and very reliable. They are here to help not to try and makea quick buck. Aviv is the best, the only person I’ll bring my car to.

We really appreciated Omar and now after meeting Aviv, I am confident that he will continue to deliver honest decent work at a good value. He and staff were courteous and took care of our problem at a reasonable rate, after checking to see if our car might have any open recalls from Honda that would cover the work. Can’t ask for more.

I’ve shopped around and this is the most honest auto mechanic shop in the city: trustworthy, dependable, and quite affordable.
This place is single-​handedly responsible for making it worthwhile for me to own a 12 yr old BMW! Ever since my BMW 325xi went out of warranty 8 years ago, I’ve been taking it to Factory Muffler, and these guys have saved me literally over ten thousand dollars over the years, have done a top-​notch job proactively fixing any issues, and they use all original German parts!

I am a previous Omar customer at O&J’s Auto. I recently moved and had to look for a new mechanic. BIG MISTAKE! I am so glad Aviv has taken on his customers. I called them yesterday looking for help with a car problem. I couldn’t get to that side of town to bring it to them, but they helped me tremendously with telling me about actual pricing of the car and what the mechanic should be doing. The mechanic tried to overprice his service/​parts by almost $ 200 and if it wasn’t for Aviv helping me out, I wouldn’t have known that. Unfortunately, I had to finish the work at this other mechanic, but my car is getting older and will need a lot of help and I will definitely bring it to Factory Muffler & Complete Auto Repair next time. It’s a bit of a drive, but it’s worth it when you can work with an honest mechanic!

It’s a good to know when you’re not being taken advantage of by a mechanic. Tavi was a huge help and a super nice guy. All of Aviv’s staff were very friendly and helped out when they could. I will definitely being making the trip back up to devon next time I need my car looked at. The 30 minute drive to a quality mechanic is totally worth it.

I had to start looking for a new place to take my car this week because the guy that I’ve always taken my car to recently retired (Omar at O&J Auto). I was not looking forward to it because my old place was so good.
My experience with Factory Muffler and Aviv today was excellent. They got my car in and out in a couple hours, and the repair was only $ 65. Aviv was friendly and straightforward. I have a 13 year old car, and I was very happy that Aviv only fixed the part that needed fixed and didn’t try to sell me a lot of other repairs.
I am happy to have a new place to take my car. I’d definitely recommend them.

I cant believe I’ve never reviewed this place. I’ve been coming here for years. So, for my 50^th review, yeah I know, can you believe it, 50, I’d like to celebrate by giving my favorite and most honest mechanic his well deserved accolades. Aviv, the owner, has always taken the time to explain to me and his customers what the problems are and what to look for in the future. He’s never given me the old «better get that fixed because you might crash or take your life if you don’t «bit. Believe me, I’ve heard that more than once in my life from OTHER shady mechanics. Not these guys. They will explain to you what’s wrong, how they will fix it, if anything else looks suspect and a timeline of when you should expect to be suspect.
I’ll explain. last time I went in because I had a blow out of my rear passenger tire on 294 at 10pm on a Sun. Yes, dark and construction strewn. Well, I changed the flat to the full-​size Pirelli spare. I finally made it to Factory Muffler 2 days later. They put my baby on a lift and showed me that all my tires were riding on half wire and half rubber from wear and tear I’d put on what now seems the original set of tires (my baby has 119k miles, yes one hundred and nineteen Thousand miles). They gave me options. These guys gave me options. They didn’t just see the Pirelli and say, «ok, you need 4 more Pirelli tires, they gave me 3 other options, including one that involved keeping the full-​sized spare. They also warned me of my wearing brakes, not «you better get brakes or you’re going to crash when you leave». They calmly said that I had some time but to watch for certain symptoms before bringing it in. A savings of about $ 250. Cha-​ching, considering what I was in for with the tires.
All in all, this place is stellar. The service, the work, and above all, the honesty and integrity that comes with bringing my baby (Audi) here.
Kudos to Factory Muffler for continuing to surpass my expectations.

I have been using Factory Muffler services for years and have always been super satisfied. I never feel ripped off, always am educated about the problems with my car and the price is right.
No matter what the car needs, oil change or new breaks I would only trust them.

I cannot recommend this shop highly enough! If there were more than five stars available, they’d get ‘em!
I have had 3 different cars serviced here, and they have diagnosed and repaired each one at lower prices than most other shops (today’s brake job was $ 80 less than I was quoted elsewhere!).
They do NOT try to talk you unto unneeded repairs, or gouge you in any way. They don’t talk down to you — they explain exactly what is needed. Needless to say, they do great work.
Tops in my book!
