Pollo al a brasa was fantastic. Took it as carry-out, but will likely eat there at some point, especially with BYOB. Restaurant was very busy, but I expect the Peru Copa match was partly to blame. Regardless, our full chicken came out within 10 minutes and we were on our way with a full meal for two for sub-$ 20. Neighborhood gem for sure.

Everything here was fina! I don’t have a single complaint. Service was fast and friendly, the food was phenomenal, it’s BYOB and it’s so cheap for how much we were served. What else could you want? Our group of 7 made a reservation for a Friday night(Good Friday) and we were practically the only people there, which I attribute to it being Good Friday since the menu is meat-heavy. Many of us wanted to try the famous Rotisserie Chicken and couldn’t decide between that or other dishes, so we naturally ordered 2 whole Pollo a la Brasa meals to split. It was a great choice and we didn’t have too much left over. It comes with a large, basic house salad with a delicious dressing and large sides of French fries. The chicken is juicy and the skin is well flavored. I’d have been more than happy to have only had that, but everything else was just as good in its own way! I wish I’d pay more attention to the names of the dishes we ordered so I could reference them here, but I’ll do my best to describe some below: We had started with the two types or Corn appetizer. One is cooked and the other is roasted. I much preferred the one that is like semi-popped popcorn but I liked both of them. We also tried the Anticuchos(Beef Hearts) and found them to have a strong grilled flavor as opposed to overly iron-y, which was a real treat! The Ceviche Mixto was the best Ceviche I’ve had anywhere. We ordered a number of main dishes, but the Aji de Gallina was my favorite. They have mastered pork, beef, seafood and poultry. You really can’t go wrong.

The Chicken here is the BEST I have ever had in Chicago… and I’ve eaten a lot of chicken in Chicago. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I get it with rice instead of fries and I put the orange sauce on it. Sooooo good. I tried the green sauce last time and it was goo also, just too hot for me. The price is a little higher than some other places I’ve been, but the chicken is so darn good and tender that I feel it’s well worth it.

I’m Peruvian, and the food here is GREAT. I love the chicken and the ceviche. The main reason why I am not giving a 5 is because they are lacking on customer service. There used to be a young lady who was always really nice, and also a guy who wears glasses I believe he’s from Venezuela he’s really nice, the other 2 people who work there are not at all. The lady is rude and the other guy as well, you ask for something and they have you there waiting for a while. Anyways the food is great but need to improve on customer service.

Get the charbroiled rotisserie chicken. It’s juicy, flavorful, and tender. The sauces that accompany the chicken are addicting. Make sure you try the orange hot sauce. My typical order consists of ½ of a chicken, rice and salad. Fina Estampa’s prices are higher than it’s competitor, which is just a few blocks down the street. However, the quality of their food exceeds that of any other rotisserie chicken place in Chicago.

Horrible experience! The chicken is great; however, their service is poor! I will not cater from them again. Since point one, they had the worst customer service on the phone. Second, I needed to pick up the food at a specific time and they could not do it because they were«busy». Therefore, to make this work, I had to rearrange someone else to pick up the food. Unfortunately, the person that went pick up the food, was never given part of the order. We wanted to speak with owner and he was busy on a picnic. I am still waiting on a call back from him. Horrible customer service!

Food was really good-4 star After we ordered was told they didn’t have yuca, then when we asked for additional dressing when they couldn’t fulfill our original order they charged us for extra dressing instead of accommodating us for not having what we wanted Overall a great place for Take out

One of the best places to get roasted chicken from. Every time I order the Pollo a la Brasa it’s always juicy and well seasoned! The salad came with a green salad dressing, the salad is simple but that sauce was amazing! The fries are crispy and thick. I love their white garlic sauce, goes well with the chicken. I recommend it!

This is my favorite place for Pollo a la Brasa Peruano, Peruvian Rotisserie, in Chicago. Each time we went to chicago, we stop by and eat one there and take one more for home. As a peruvian I can says this flavor is pretty well similar that the original. We also tried the Anticuchos, Great flavor!!! better than those at Tanta(which is a great place for Peruvian food too). I highly recommend The Fina Estampa for Pollo a la Brasa and Anticuchos.

I love Peruvian food! I have been to many if not all of the local Peruvian spots and this was sadly a disappointment. I ordered a very common Peruvian dish, aji de gallina, and it was HORRIBLE. First the dish didn’t look like it and tasted nothing like it. The white rice was hard and cold. I would give it zero stars but my son really enjoyed his meal, the pollo a la braza and anticuchos. His meal looked freshly made and he really enjoyed the chicken and fries. It seems that the only consistently good thing they make here is the chicken. Do not try any other dishes and take a quick drive to the two other Peruvian restaurants nearby. I won’t name them because I don’t want to lose credibility by giving names of other local competitors but they are easily found via Unilocal. I have been to them and they have very good traditional dishes. Aji de gallina, lomo saltado, seviche.

Only order the polla a la brasa. Order an Inca Kola for your drink. Once you get your meal, only eat the polla a la brasa. Do not eat anything else on your plate. Few notes: There are 2 cooks. One cook makes only the polla a la brasa. The other cook makes everything else. The cook that makes everything else is a terrible cook. If you eat anything that isn’t polla a la brasa you will most likely dislike it. They moved across the street, so they have a larger lot and plenty of street parking. The atmosphere is weird with 2 large TV’s turned up so the terrible cook can hear it in the back. If the owner is reading this don’t change the polla a la brasa, fire your line cook, hire a sous chef, and get rid of the TV’s.

Monday 10/17/201112:00pm This is a truly«A Hole in the Wall» place. The parking lot could maybe hold 5 cars, so park your car on the street if you can. This restaurant is next to Charlie’s Supermarket. The restaurant itself is very small. I thought the price was a bit high for the location. $ 10.00 for ½ chicken? Maybe it’s just me. I ordered the Pollo a La Brasa ½ chicken. It came with salad and fries. Salad was nice. I liked the dressing. Chicken was moist and delicious. I would come back for this chicken. Unilocalers this is not a Boston Market but a small mom and pop type of restaurant and they serve one very delicious chicken. Enjoy

Ok let’s start at the beginning… .small parking lot. check …in a strip mall. check …place looks tiny.check. So sounds like this hole in the wall wouldn’t offer some good Peruvian polla a la brasa… you would be totally wrong. The food here is great! It is very simple yet perfectly on point for spices and flavor. I tried lomo saltado there and some ceviche — both were not so bad or spectacular. So why come here, you ask? You should come for the chicken — the«pollo a la brasa» is incredible. So I suggest a nice ¼ pollo a la brasa meal with it’s salad and fries and a can of Inca Cola and you are golden.

Best peruvian chicken in chicago! Love the sauces too! this is no fancy restaurant and to be honest the only thing i recommend is the chicken and the ceviche but it sure is delicious! oh and its cheap! 17 dollars gets you a whole chicken, salad, and fries thats dinner for 4!

If you can get past the appearance, this is a great place to grab a quick Peruvian meal. It’s a total hole in the wall — it’s not really that clean but not like«ew, I’m going to get sick,» more like«where is the little kid that was eating here before me» Great place for some Peruvian roast chicken and an Inca Kola

A late review here. I’ve been to this place a few times this past summer. Went for the«pollo a la brasa», came back for the ceviche. And the chicken too! The chicken was great, very savory(have to say the first time it was a bit undercooked for my taste — I think they were trying too hard to be «juicy» — but the rest of the times, it’s been spot on), the fries, the salad and the yummie hot sauce, just great. Peruvian all around. The first time we ordered a fish ceviche, as an appetizer, and the pollo as an entrée. The ceviche was so good, we came back the following day, just to have ceviche. Now, the ceviche dish is rather large, so it may be a lot for one person, but, if you’re hungry, go for it! Pollo a la brasa, ceviche + Inca Kola, so good! Service is good, prices are okay, which leads to the following: this place is a hole in the wall, in Chicago, AND in Peru. I’ve been to restaurants in Peru too: this is your regular family-owned/run neighborhood joint. But the prices don’t reflect that. But maybe I’m looking for a correlation between the establishment and the prices, when perhaps there is none(?) The chicken was inexpensive, the ceviche, not so much. But I really didn’t care that much, as I was back several times. I haven’t tried anything else, so I will be back.

Om Nom Nom Nom Nom!!! As an authentic Peruvian… well at least born there and maybe raised around Peruvian food in the States… but regardless… I have to say that this chicken is the most flavorful chicken I have ever had! I don’t know what they put in the marinate but it’s worth giving this hole in the wall a try. Not the prettiest of places, but what my parents tell me this is how Peruvian restaurants are back home. Very small place, nothing fancy just good food and great prices! I have a method of testing out good Peruvian food and that is ordering all of my favorite Peruvian appetizers all at once… luckily for me my metabolism allows me to do that. So here is what this glutton ordered.(besides the Pollo A La Brasa/Rotisserie Chicken. Tamal Peruano/Peruvian Tamale — stuffed with egg and chicken and marinated onions. Papa Rellena/Stuffed Mashed Potato — stuffed with seasoned steak, eggs, raisins and olives. Papa a la Huancaina –sliced boiled potatoes in a creamy sauce(cold dish) Ceviche — fresh fish marinated in lime juice served with sweet potatoes, corn, and cancha corn. Results of this test where GREATSUCCESS! Try it you won’t forget it! Don’t be scared of the parking lot, just go in! :)
