Picture Framing: We operate a full-​service frame shop in our Chicago studio, where we can design and build frames in any size and style. All our custom frames are made from 100% reclaimed wood. In addition we also stock a line of pre-​made standard size frames. We have a well-​curated collection of rotating frames and samples with new material options being added all the time.

Custom Furniture: We design, build and install. We make, reclaimed custom tables, desks, cabinets, bookshelves – and anything you might need for your home or office. For commercial work, we can build you a bar, a checkout counter, product displays, wall paneling or anything in between.

Home Goods: Besides a variety of frame styles, including mosaics, shadow boxes, framed mirrors, and fillets, we make one-​of-​a-​kind clocks, boxes, shelves, lamps, and furniture.

History

Established in 2009.

FoundRe has grown to from a small garage space to a large wood shop and studio with a variety of cliental, including some of Chicago’s brightest entrepreneurs and restaurateurs.

Foundre has even worked internationally with loyal clients in Europe and across the United States. We have done product design for many small retail stores as well has limited addition product fulfillment for big box retailers.

We intend to remain a small independent company focused on hand-​made quality reclaimed goods.

Meet the Business Owner

Raun M.

Business Owner

With over 15 years of woodworking experience, a degree in design and a passion for making, Raun Meyn started his own line of salvaged wood frames and custom furniture out of rented two car garage in 2009.

He’s always been drawn to the wear and tear of forgotten architectural salvage – to him, there is nothing more inspiring than an old abandoned building aged with decades of texture, character, and history.
