Foursided

We wanted to create a gallery wall in our new place, but we wanted it to be personal, so we blew up some of our favorite pictures that we’ve taken ourselves and had them custom framed. I absolutely love the work they did and our gallery wall turned out just as I imagined. It feels really amazing seeing my own pictures of the city blown up and framed so beautifully.
Foursided also sells unique Chicago items, great Chicago artwork including a cool piece outlining all of Chicago’s neighborhoods, and one of the city’s train gridline.
We will definitely be using foursided for all future framing needs.

I bought a necklace less than 5 days ago. Then the second time I wore it. Its charm just broke while I walk to work. How bad quality can it be to break without any hard force and on a second use?
I support hipster/​home-​made stuff but if you cannot even beat forever 21 quality, that is pretty shameful.

Second time doing business with them… Perfect work again & fast turn around. I’ll use them again and I’ll also recommend them to my friends and clients.

I“m sorry to see the low ratings here because it’s compared to Twosided and Foursided’s location in Andersonville.
This is the original store and it’s primarily a frame shop. If you want cards and prints and the oddball antique printed matter head to Twosided or the Andersonville store.
The framing isn’t cheap but they do a great job and they’re willing to spend a lot of time helping pick out the right frame. I must have spent a half hour deciding on frame for a small woodcut I bought and they never rushed me or made me feel like I was wasting their time.
The Andersonville store has antique frames but if you want to get something framed in a new frame and you don’t care about the cards and knickknacks this location is fine if you’re in the neighborhood like me. If you don’t live near either location the Andersonville one is probably the best option — especially if you’re driving. Parking is much easier there.

This is probably related to twosided which is only a few blocks away on wellington and clark.
it’s about half the size of the other place with half the items.

I went in looking for cards but didn’t see anything I wanted.

The weirdest, most random items you don’t really need at a price you can’t afford.

I liked the design of the store. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any cards I liked. I would recommend this location for picture frames. Then walk around the neighborhood for great restaurant eats.

I really love all of the Foursided and Twosided shops. Unique cards, frames, and products along with a friendly staff. Even if you’re not looking for something in particular, this is a fun place to stop by and look around or to bring people who are visiting from out of town.

I’m a stickler for customer service. My friend & I were the only customers in the store today and were never greeted. I then waited in line for a good 15 minutes or more to make one quick purchase while they helped a customer in the daunting process of choosing a frame. This is a cute store with some fun pieces. The lady who rung me out was pleasant when I finally checked out. They just need to be more aware of providing equal attention to their customers.

Very lucky to have a great many Thank-​yous to send this Holiday Season. May I say, the Hammerpress Thank you cards are beyond frameable perfection, they are welcomed– Please keep ordering those from Brady Vest, they are my favorite.
Additionally, My Dad is a retired cop with a very dark, somewhat twisted sense of humor.
One does not send him standard civilian Hallmark Greetings.
I really enjoy the selection here, the unique, handmade feel and the kind service.
I always find something unusual– cards, framed art and decorative novelty that must be shared.

I really loved Foursided when I went there last year to frame a couple of pictures for my boyfriend.
The frames were beautiful and the final pieces looked great. One of the pictures was kind of bent at the bottom and they flattened it out. They helped me pic the perfect frame for the picture and my boyfriend really enjoyed his gift.

Foursided is by far my favorite place in Chicago. I go to the one in Andersonville about once a week and have lots of wall hangings and framed work from there. The Foursided on Broadway just isn’t as helpful. I went in to use my Unilocal coupon and they just are not as friendly as the one on Clark. I like when the workers can give advice on what looks good, but when I asked there really wasn’t help. I’m sure it will look beautiful, but just something to work on possibly.

Foursided has a really unique and interesting selection — I especially like their reclaimed frames. I’ve had two items framed here and the employees have been very patient, friendly and helpful throughout the frame selection process. In both instances the frames ended up adding a lot of interest to the final product. I always end up spending more than I anticipated here, but I definitely think the quality of the work and the beautiful frames makes it well worth the price.

I am amazed every time i walk by or go in.

I had an amazing art print that I kept under wraps for about a year until I moved into a more permanent place. I found Foursided with a Groupon, and I am ecstatic I chose them! They had so many options. Although when I walked into the store, it was a little awkward, I wasn’t greeted, and did not know where to start. I ended up with a beautiful silver/​gold antique frame. I asked for an opinion from the shopkeeper at the front desk and she was quite helpful when I had approached her. It was pricey, but when I picked up it up a couple weeks later, it was better than I expected and really complimented my art. I am so glad I went to Foursided! I will definitely go back for more.

I like this place. The people who work there are very helpful in picking out the best frame, and they do quality work. They are a little pricey, but I believe that you get what you pay for in a frame job.
I have had 5 different paintings and prints done there on different occasions. Only one of them had an issue. I had a lithograph print framed and got it home only to realize that they had not included glass. I should have realized this when checking the work before leaving the shop, but missed it. I took it back in and the staff was very helpful. They agreed that, of course, there should be glass included in this job. They re-​did the print to add glass in just two days and did not charge me anything. They apologized for missing such an important detail. My view is that most ALL businesses will make a little screw up or miss a detail from time to time. How they deal with it is what makes the difference, and Foursided handled this situation as well as could be expected. I’ll continue to take my business here.

I want to buy nearly everything in this store, but I can’t. That’s the only downside. The frames are lovely, the art for sale is great, the window displays are adorable and the service is friendly and helpful without being all in your face like you’re at TGIFridays.

I love their sister store — Twosided — so when my husband and I invested in our first piece of art, we decided to have it framed here. The picture is an amazing photo of the inside of the Detroit train station, which is falling apart but still beautiful. We wanted a frame that complemented the picture, something antiquey and a little distressed. We checked around at a few other frame shops, but none had as many interesting and unique frames as Foursided.
Since we’ve never had anything framed, we were a little naïve about the cost. When we brought our picture in, the woman helping us asked what our budget was. We suggested $ 200-​$ 250. She said that could be done, but that the frame would be very basic. She brought over a few plain frames and then selected a few that were more expensive but that went really well with the photo. I checked the samples as well, and found that the ones she had selected were my favorites.
The one we went with was one of the cheaper frames… and still with the gallery white matting, the fade resistant glass, and the gorgeous frame for our large, odd shaped picture (I think it was 30 X 23?), the total cost was $ 380.
Since I haven’t framed anything before, I can’t say if that is more or less expensive than average, but I can say that the service was excellent, turnaround time was quick, and the finished product is absolutely beautiful. My one complaint is that the wire hanger on the back snapped as my husband was bringing the picture home (better then than after we had hung it). They are going to fix it for free after we lug it back over there, so I am a bit annoyed by that, but it won’t stop me from having my pictures framed there in the future.

There’s an Andersonville location now too. These guys can make any kind of custom frame you want.
