Kind of a bummer. I guess business is good — I placed multiple calls, they always go to voicemail. I left two voicemails, no reply. Sent two emails, no reply. I was really excited to work with them b/​c their works looks awesome, but beware of their apparent communication issues.

Had the guys at green landscape solutions do some landscaping and brick paved walkway in my backyard. great work good price and work fast. would definitely work with them again

Our building contacted Freddy to do some landscape work in the front part of our building and redo our parkway area. Freddy worked with us on what works best from a landscape/​shrub perspective and was communicative throughout the whole process. We had to lay mesh down along part of our building to keep the rats out and he and his team took care of us, providing great service. Our building looks great and we certainly would recommend him to anyone else looking for landscape work!

Overall, Freddy was one of the better contractors that worked on my place. He has a great demeanor and did very high quality work. I had him lay a bluestone patio, build a fireplace and install deck lighting. I would absolutely work with him again.

This place is an utter joke. Asked for a quote, said he couldn’t come for a couple weeks. Once Freddy came, it was then over a week before I go the quote. Despite the delay, I liked Freddy and said let’s get started. Clown college didn’t email me back. Emailed again and called, called again. No response. This dude is a joke, don’t bother with this horrendous service.

I have called and left messages with Green Landscape Solutions three times in three weeks and have never gotten called back. No idea why, but not my idea of good business practices.

I would recommend Freddy and his team to anyone in a heart beat! We just moved into our home in October and I had been wanting to redo the backyard and after our horrible winter I called Freddy right away the first semi warm day for a quote. He was quick in getting back to me and setting up a time to come out. He itemized all the work we wanted complete.
I am so impressed with the final outcome of our backyard! Freddy and his team did an amazing job. We had three trees cut, a pergola removed, and new sod put in the entire backyard as well as a cleanup of bushes in the back of the yard. Not only is Freddy and his team quick, they are thorough and clean everything up when completed. And his price was fair. He was good at communicating which days he would be there as well as clear in telling us what we would have to do to maintain the beauty of our lawn.
You do not have to look any further for a partner in helping you landscape your property, you have found it!

After posting my previous review out of frustration, they finally called me back and finally sent the much delayed estimate. I sincerely appreciate the apology, even if prompted by this review. The quote ended up being a bit more expensive than the one we ultimately went with so it just wasn’t worth it for us on top of the multitude of ignored communications, but (based on other reviews) hopefully we were just unlucky and others would have a better experience.

Freddy and his crew were awesome!!! I had the front lawn of our new house in Norwood Park sodded this past summer. Freddy gave the best price and seemed to be the most knowledgeable of everyone I talked to.
When they came out to do the work they were on time and courteous. The finished product was awesome and they cleaned up very well. It was really hot that day and they still completed the work on time and the finish product was great. He even made himself available after the installation for any questions as well as offer tips on maintenance. Our grass still looks great and I would recommend this company to anyone.

I contacted Freddy about having my back lawn re-​sodded after reading his reviews on Unilocal.Our lawn had been completely destroyed by the mild winter of 2011 – 2012. The lawn was not healthy to begin with, mostly crabgrass and oniongrass, and my two dogs had torn it up to the point that we had a few scattered patches of grass and a whole lot of mud.
I called Freddy early in the season, as I know how landscapers tend to book up early and I could not take another winter of the constant mud. He came out to our house the following weekend, and we spent about an hour in the backyard discussing options. We had a gravel area that used to be a driveway that was now enclosed by our fence. I had had the best of intentions of laying a flagstone patio on this area myself, but after several years of life happening, came to grips with the fact that I was not going to be able to handle the job myself. Since Freddy was already there, on a lark, I decided to get a few hardscaping quotes as well. He quoted a VERY reasonable price for the sod alone (less than half of his closest competitor), and as we talked, I became more and more comfortable with him and his evident expertise. He gave us quotes on laying a patio with the flagstone we already had on the premises, quotes on laying a patio with flagstone he would bring in, quotes for laying a paver patio, quotes for stamped concrete, and on and on down the line. Freddy was very patient; the size and scope of the job had to have changed ten times from our initial phone call to actually coming up with a contract. Freddy kept us informed, explained all of our options thoroughly, and was a consummate professional through it all.
As it turned out, Freddy’s quotes were far less than his closest competitor, and we are now the owners of a backyard of which our neighbors are envious. I’m talking nearly 800 square feet of patio and walkway paved in UniLock Olde Greenwich Cobble paving stones, a backyard that has been re-​graded so that the land slopes away from the house, rather than toward it, a brand-​new back lawn planted with 900 square feet of beautiful green sod, and attractive timbers around the patio with room for my wife to plant flowers on the border. The patio is graded very well, with rainfall running under our fence into a conveniently-​located alley storm drain. The brick work is stable, attractive, and level. The grass is, for the most part, healthy and well-​rooted (aside from a few small brown patches and the inevitable dog spots; these defects are so minor when compared to the nightmare we had before that we barely notice them).
The job took a lot longer than we expected, owing to the rather complex laying pattern we chose to have the patio done in. We were told 3 – 4 days; the job wound up taking nearly two weeks. Even so, Freddy was communicative and responsive throughout the process. His crew were polite, professional, and hard-​working. Freddy even fixed the damage done to my driveway by his Bobcat and other equipment, leveling and laying gravel to fix up the hard-​pack that had been churned up during the construction.
As an aside, this review should have been done months ago (the work was done in late April) but, again, life happens.
All in all, I’m extremely satisfied with the way things turned out. Instead of the «backyard urban mudfest» referenced in another review, we now have an amazing backyard sanctuary perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and that our dogs just love. If we ever have need of a landscaper again, I would not hesitate to call Freddy. You shouldn’t either.

Freddy and his crew did a great job and tackled my weed yard into a calm and relaxing place to be.
Even better he got it all done in a day.
Responsive and professional.
Will be using them again.

I cannot say enough good things about Freddy and Green Landscape Solutions. I would recommend them to anyone.
We bought our house last summer knowing that there was lawn and garden work that needed to be done, but then promptly forgot about it. By this summer, two trees, a lot of our plants, and most of our lawn was dead or dying. Freddy to the rescue!
He resodded my lawn, planted numerous (low maintenance) plants, took down the two dying trees, power washed our patio, and remulched our gardens– it looks like a whole new place! The work he did would have taken my husband and I weeks to do (not to mention, require renting a power washer and a stump chipper), and it would never have looked so nice! Plus, his prices were very reasonable.
Since our outdoors looks so great, I probably won’t need help out there for awhile, but when I do, I’m calling Freddy!

Thank you Unilocalers for steering me in the right direction. Freddy completely transformed our neglected, weed-​ridden, overgrown, just plain ugly courtyard. He’s extremely knowledgeable and I felt comfortable that he would do a good job from our initial consultation. His prices sealed the deal — extremely fair based on other quotes I received. Plus, he can trim and remove trees, which he added onto our landscaping quote for next to nothing. He fit our job into his schedule quickly and worked within our budget. He even threw in some extra flowers because he’s a nice guy who takes pride in his work. The landscaping is exactly what we wanted and he went the extra mile to clean everything up so that it looks better now than it ever has. I would recommend him to anyone — they’re a big enough company to do large scale jobs (he said do a lot corporations and schools) but he also enjoys the small gigs like our dinky little condo courtyard. So happy we hired him and I plan to have him back for more work — he can seal balconies and decks, paint metal staircases/​fences — they do anything you need outdoors. Alright, gotta go enjoy a beer in my pretty new courtyard.

Thanks to the other Unilocal reviews! I emailed Green Landscape Solutions for the 3^rd quote on our patio. He was the least expensive (not by much but that’s okay). However, he was super responsive and had terrific ideas. Very professional and creative. I will use him again on future projects!

Freddy and his crew are awesome! We called Freddy to come out and look at a few projects we had, including fixing a flagstone patio that another landscaper was installing. He came out the next day, gave us a very fair quote and said he’d be back within 2 weeks to do the work. He then called 3 days later and said he had an opening in the schedule if we wanted our project done sooner. We were thrilled.
They came out and completed the work in 2 days. Not only did they do an amazing job, but they actually cleaned up all of the mess that our previous landscaper left in our garage. I was floored by their level of service, responsiveness and professionalism.
One of the other projects we had them do was to re-​sod our front yard. They did the work right before 4^th of July and we went out fo town for a day or two, which meant the fresh sod didnt get watered for 2 days and dried out. I contacted Freddy today to see how much he would charge to fix it and he volunteered to replace the dying sod at no charge. The mistake was ours, not his, but its this level of above and beyond service that makes me want to refer them to everyone I know. Dont hesitate… call these guys!

RESPONSIVE, PROFESSIONAL, and CREATIVE! Highly recommend you give them a call — Freddy and his team did an awesome job turning our backyard urban mudfest into a garden with a groovy patio. Last fall, our dogs raced around in our yard, ruined our lawn, and we had just the smallest concrete patio. Though I play in the flowerbeds and do my own gardening, I had certainly not been working on the sod nor am I a patio builder. We called, and Freddy IMMEDIATELY called us back upon initial inquiry (same day), came out the next day to measure & talk through our potential project. He then followed up with a quote within a day. When we were pondering this or that, he was very patient and offered different solutions at various price ranges in order to get us exactly what we were seeking within our budget. Now we have a gorgeous unilock patio that will outlast us and our dogs, a more defined garden, and beautiful/​healthy green grass. We’re so pleased with the results, we’re going to have them keep coming back to help us maintain all the gorgeousness so we can focus on enjoying it all summer long. Definitely give them a call and consider outsourcing some of your yard work because you won’t believe the difference a professional can make (and maybe free you up for the fun gardening parts, or my favorite, the cocktails on the new patio!)
