I had an unfortunate red wine spill on fairly new carpet. I called Jonny on the Spot and Carl answered the phone on his way to another job. Since that job was not far from me and he had some time in between appointments, Carl stopped over a few hours later. Since I only needed his minimum clean he was able to take care of me «On The Spot». Stain gone, I’m happy, and I know where to turn should this happen again. Thanks, Carl and Jonny on the Spot.

Had karl clean/​remove dust and stains on the carpet in my new apartment. Those tars and stains looked very tough to remove but he amazingly removed most of them and I clearly notice so much difference. It doesn’t bother me anymore! Glad that I tried this service because i was going to replace the whole carpets otherwise.

After bringing my 6 year old couch to our new home, my girlfriend decided it was time for it to be cleaned. We searched for a company willing to work in a high-​rise in the Loop, as many companies operate from their truck and cannot service tall buildings. The stellar reviews of Johnny on the Spot, specifically Carl, decided for us to give them a shot.
Carl showed up on time, was very professional, and gave a great deal of information on the process. The quote we were given beforehand was accurate, and there were no hidden charges. He spent a good amount of time doing the pre-​treatment, cleaning, sanitizing, and vacuuming of the sofa to make sure the 6 years of dirt all made its way out. At the end he showed me what came out, and proved my girlfriend right.
In a few years from now, when i need my sofa or mattress cleaned, i know who i will be calling.

My landlord booked these last minute and they worked me in on a Saturday. They said they would be there at 11am and they were right on time. They did a great job cleaning up the carpet and even cleaned up An ink spot on my couch. I would recommend this company to any landlord who needs a great reliable carpet cleaning company.

This company performs amazing carpet cleaning magic!!! I asked them to clean the carper of a rental condo I own – and it was filthy with dirt, wine spills and such. Carl was professional, quoted a competitive rate – and absolutely effective at making the carpet look like almost-​new again. He confirmed the appointment, he was on-​time and prompt, explained what he was going to do… and DID IT! My tenant is happy and I am a very happy landlord! Excellent experience which is why I’m taking the time to write this review!

This company did an absolutely fantastic job! The white colored carpet was badly stained, including pet stains and odor from a sick English bulldog, but surprisingly every stain came out and the carpet looks good as new. Carl worked especially hard and we took advantage of the three added services — — pretreating, pet odor removal, and Scotch-​guarding. What’s so great about this company is that you buy two and you get the third one free. I also highly recommend taking advantage of their January specials. And don’t forget to request Carl!

I love these guys. I’ve been using them for 5 years. Their customer service is great (Carl is awesome), they are always reliable, on-​time and trustworthy. Their prices are fair and reasonable. I have a dog and my carpets have lasted twice as long by having them cleaned every year by Johnny on the Spot. Definitely recommend them.

I have now used Johnny on the Spot twice and had a great experience both times. The first time I used a YouSwoop and had my two bedrooms (white carpet) cleaned and they were prompt, friendly, and did a great job getting stains and soil out of the carpet. I’ve had other companies in and they by far got it the cleanest. The second time (today) is why I felt I had to write a review — my 2 year old son broke open an entire ball point pen on my white carpet and I couldn’t get it out. They were able to fit me in their schedule and went above and beyond to make the spot disappear. So much cheaper than replacing the carpet, and they were great to work with to boot. I would recommend their service to anyone!

I just used their service for the 3^rd time. I would highly recommend them. They were fast, affordable/​competitive, on time, etc. Communication was excellent and my carpets look fantastic now and I have some great education on what to do and what not to do in the future to protect them. I took their advice on some pretreatments this time (not the first two times because admittedly I was CHEAP and on a «deal»). It worked out even better and they hooked me up with a deal as a repeat customer. I will be back and highly recommend them.

Purchased a living social deal on a 3 rooms carpet cleaning with Johnny On The Spot. I made the booking and had the carpet clean today. Carl was very professional and did a acceptable job on the cleaning process. I asked Carl to move the couch 3 feet to the left (just sliding it over since there’s carpeting on the fllor) and he said he’ll do it but he’s not supposed to move any furnitire. The deal was «Service includes deep steam cleaning, color brightener, deodorizer, and sanitizer, as well as basic furniture moving and vacuuming» as stated online. Here is the actual link

Also, vacumming was supposed to be included. He did not vacuum at all. My 2 cents is telling me when you buy a deal online, it’s not stated as what it said and make sure you have a copy handy.
The $ 10 travel fee was annoying, but mostly I put that on Living Social since they really should have listed that on the deal info.
I explained to them I had pets etc. when I scheduled it and they said no problem. Only when they get to my house do they tell me I need some $ 30 pretreatment and some $ 20 pet sanitizer! TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH!

There was a bit of hassle with Mike when I called to schedule because my building requires that a certificate of insurance must be on file before a vendor comes in. Lorena at the insurance office was really on the ball — sent over the certificate with all the info required — super. The technician called on time but took 15 minutes travel time to get here — OK, when he arrived he got right to work. I opted for just the plain vanilla cleaning and that worked very well because I’d already pre-​treated pet hairballs and such. I’d moved most of the small stuff so there was lots of bare carpet. Paul, the tech, just lifted furniture as he came to it and put little plastic squares under the feet so there would be no rusting. The carpeting was dry after about 11 hours. Had an amazonlocal coupon so the only extra charge was $ 10 for travel time. Super job. Color me a happy camper.

After 4 years of living in a very dusty high rise, it was time to get the carpets cleaned. I saw the groupon and purchased it (I think it was $ 45 for 2 rooms. Something like that.) So carpet cleaning has a bit of a science to it (especially if you have pets/​pet urine to clean). You first have to treat the carpet with an enzyme to loosen the dirt/​dust and then the machine uses water at about 160 °F to pull everything out of it. **** the groupon does not include the enzyme, therefore is you want the deeper cleaning, you will need to be quoted for it. The cleaning you receive with the groupon gets about 60% of the way down, the enzyme gets you to about 90%. I opted to get the deep cleaning, and I paid extra for it.
Mike on the phone was fine. I see a lot of complaints in these reviews on Mike, but come on guys. He schedules appointments, ease up.
Carl was the one who came to my house to do the work. Carl was efficient and polite. He had some difficulty finding parking, but he finished everything on time. What I appreciated most was that he took the time to explain everything. What he used and why he was using it. He also was very thorough in his instructions as what to do after he left while everything was drying.
The results were fantastic! The original color of the mattress is back and I can breathe again. Everything dried in about 8 hours.
I would absolutely recommend these guys, but to avoid problems mentioned in other reviews — get a quote first.

I purchased the You Swoop which entitled me to 600 sq ft of cleaning. I called to make my appointment and was told that there would be an additional charge to clean my area rugs (at the cost of $ 1 per square foot) which was not covered by my You Swoop. I reviewed the details of the You Swoop and there was no indication that area rugs were not included. When I inquired about this I was told that area rugs require different equipment and that they would have this equipment on hand when they showed up for the appointment and I could decide at that time.
They showed up early (suprising because usually service folks show up at the end of their window and sometimes later) so that was a step in the right direction. He quoted me a price of $ 50 for cleaning my 8×10 area rug which I agreed to but then asked him to throw in the 2 small runner rugs. The price then went up to $ 75. Also there is definitely a hidden charge of $ 19.95 for pre-​treating. That wasn’t even offered up as an option to waive. In all it ended up costing me $ 94.95 plus the cost of the You Swoop to get all my rugs cleaned (I only have one small patch of carpeting so I didn’t even come close to the 600 sq ft even including my area rugs). I wasn’t ecstatic about the price but it was a better value that some of the other places that I checked out.
Well imagine my suprise when he was done with the area rugs, my carpeting and the two rug runners in about 25 minutes including the pre-​treatment. It should be noted that there was no need for additional equipment to clean my area rugs and when I questioned the technician I was told that that is only required for wool rugs. Why then, was I charged an additional amount for the area rugs? I was told that they required different cleaning solutions — which was not pointed out in my discussion during the appointment setup. What was also not mentioned is the $ 19.95 pre-​treatment which, from what I was told, was absolutely required.
What I find most interesting is on the receipt I received it is stated — No Pressure! No Gimmicks! No Hidden Charges! Fully Insured!. In fact, there are hidden charges ($ 19.95 for pre-​treatment) and there are gimmicks (stating that differenct machinery is needed for area rugs when in fact it was not). I certainly feel that the additional $ 94.95 that I paid was just a gimmick to hit up all of us folks living in condos with very little actual carpet and mostly area rugs to cover hardwood flooring.
While the service was excellent and the rugs look great, I will NOT use them again simply because I feel they are not honest in their business practice. The You Swoop said 600sq ft of carpeting and if it didn’t inlcude area rugs that should have been stated… and if it requires additional machinery, then don’t use the same machine as you used for my carpet and charge me additional.

So I was painting my nails scarlet one day when my clumsy self knocked the bottle of polish sideways on my cream sofa. I believe there was a Hitchcock-​esque scream, followed by tears. I tried to get the polish out with copious amounts of nail polish remover, alternated with vigorous scrubbing. The stain faded but was still prominent. I searched for ‘Dear Heloise’-type tips online and moved to ammonia next. Desperate measures for a desperate woman!
I called Johnny on the Spot to the rescue. My crisis management team quoted me $ 10 per linear foot plus $ 25 extra for the spot cleaning. They also warned that the nail polish and surrounding area (stained with acetone and ammonia) may not come out and that it could damage the fabric. At this point, I was happy to pay $ 175 for a chance the stain could come out vs. $ 1500+ for a new sofa.
I left my keys with the front desk so they could have entry to my condo while I was at work. They called on their way over, and once again with a final estimate. Coming home after work, I was all pins and needles in anticipation… and walked over to a spotless sofa! Highly recommended.
