The Supreme Court of Illinois does not recognize certifications of specialties in the practice of law, and I do not hold myself out as a specialist. However, I concentrate my practice in the following ares: select commercial and business litigation, eminent domain/condemnation matters, business formation and related transactions, and real estate tax matters
History
Established in 1991.
Scott Verhey began practicing law in 1991. In 1996 he formed his own firm. This firm provides solution based counsel for individuals and businesses with the understanding that providing big firm services and results does not require a big firm fees and expenses.

Specific experience: 1996 to Present: Appointed as a Special Assistant Attorney General of the State of Illinois to represent the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois Highway Tollway Authority in the prosecution of condemnation proceedings and related matters in Cook, Kane, DuPage, Lake, McHenry and Will County.
I’ve tried cases in state and Federal courts and successfully won appeals in the 1st and 2nd District of Illinois as well as the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
